Dr. Merrell is experienced and friendly. Unfortunately the dental experience is more than just meeting with the dentist. My son has a few cavities and our family dentist recommended having them fixed by a pediatric dentist and one of my friend recommended West End Pediatric Dentistry, so we went. Our first session was a 30-minutes consultation since were new patients there. We waited more than 30 minutes to be seen, which was a little unusual based on my dental experience. Our second session was a one-hour session. Id say my five year old did remarkably well for his age, keeping calm and still for the most part. But the assistant constantly says things like if you just keep still that will help the doctor a lot with a stern voice, which Ive never experienced with any pediatric type visits. Finally I had to say you know saying this to a five year old doesnt help. That put an end to her comments. That night my sons lip had some big swelling which didnt go away in the morning, we were not sure if its something serious so I called the office. No one picked up so I left a message. Almost a day passed and no one responded, so I called back. I was told the doctor is not available and I was asked to leave a message, so I said I already called and left a message earlier. Then finally someone talked to the doc and got us some advice. All those above are just trivial things and I wouldnt spend time writing a review for those, until we had our last visit. Its mid-day, so I moved my work schedules around and pulled my son out of school. When we got there I was told that they dont have our appointment in their system and we wont be able to see the doctor that day. I got really frustrated but would have accepted if someone says sorry we screwed up, this will never happen again. Instead, though they didnt blame me explicitly for the problem, its clear that it couldnt be their fault. So I left and cancelled our future appointment as I couldnt afford this type of problem and attitude again. Bottom line is, a good dentist with not so good staff.

We have been going to Dr. Merrill for over five years now after bouncing around a couple of different dentists. Simply put, you will not find a pediatric dentist who is better, more caring, more efficient or a better communicator than Dr. Merrill. His staff, from the front office to the hygienists are all the very best. You will almost never wait more than five minutes past your appointment (if that!) to be seen. I recommend this office in the strongest way!

Dr. Merrell and his staff are AMAZING!!! My little guy was in a ton of pain from an abscessed tooth and they not only worked us in but bent over backward to make sure he was taken care of immediately! Dr. Merrells "chairside" manner is superb and my son felt comfortable immediately! I highly recommend this practice! Thank you Dr. Merrell and staff for being so accommodating and taking such good care of us!

Great first experience for my 5 yr old. Very attentive and pleasant staff. What I liked the most about the doctor is that he takes time to explain every step before he actually does it in a friendly and understanding manner. He is gentle and caring person. I felt reassured and calm during the procedure as well. My son enjoyed watching the movie and cool glasses

Dr. Merrill is wonderful. I took my son in for a filling and he saw a couple places where other cavities may be starting. He took the time to seal them and fixed another small cavity while we were there. I appreciated his extra time and care so that we didnt have to come back. This is what I call pro active and preventative care!

Dr Merrell is extremely patient with my kids and has an amazing bedside manner as well. The staff are extremely friendly and professional also. I would absolutely recommend West End Pediatric Dentistry to anyone looking for exceptional care. You cant go wrong with Dr Merrell and his staff in a child friendly environment.

Dr. Merrell was very well educated and was gentle with our daughter for her first visit. The staff was very nice as well. When it wss time to talk to us one of the nurses took our daughter to play. This place is amazing. My daughter goes there and the doctor does not put more on the children then they can takes. He tells the kids what he going to do before it does it and really makes them feel comfortable. He is WONDERFUL with children very recommend by me.
