Dr. Imam is the most rude, stoic, and degrading doctor I have ever consulted for any ailment. Not only is the wait time extremely long (even when there is nobody else in the waiting room as was my case), but I was greeted with a stand offish and beligerent attitude. She was very unhelpful. I came in for a check up and she agreed to only evaluate one of the two conditions/ailments I originally sought her advice on. When I asked why she couldnt tend to the other at the moment, she said it was because she was busy and there were other patients waiting. I assure you that waiting room was empty as a ghost town. She is more interested in making money than assisting patients. This was evident in the fact that she refused to tend to my ailments and instead tended to one and rescheduled an appointment 2 days later to look into the other one. She prescribed me my medication and upon arriving at the CVS to get it filled, she was already on the phone with the pharmacist (I have no idea how she knew I would choose that particular CVS to fill my prescription) advising him to reduce my prescribed dosage by more than half. Why? So, I can come back in in no time for a refill. Money hungry, uneducated, and rude. Good luck trying to understand her with her poor English skills.

Make sure you call the pharmacist before you leave her office to verify her office phoned in the prescription. After being told theyd phone them in, I went to the pharmacy to pick them up. She never called them in. I phoned her which was of course after hours. She called back within a few minutes and told me they were called into Walgreens. LMAO. Ive never gotten my prescriptions filled there in my life. They dont even have a record of my ever being there period. So, I had to go all weekend with PAINFUL strep throat so bad I couldnt even swallow my own saliva without any antibiotics. "Why didnt you go to the hospital???" Well, because the copay is far too expensive. But the point is that this should never have happened. I ended up having to go to patient first which is a bigger copay. And guess whos going to be paying that copay...not her. I took time off work to see her and everything just to end up at Patient first. What was the point?

First Visit: My Appointment was scheduled for 11 am and the doctor didnt come into work until 1130. It wasnt until a few minutes after she arrived that I was called into the back by one of the nurses. The preliminary stuff done then I was taken to the examine room. Every thing seemed to be on course until I got hooked up to the EKG machine and the thing didnt work. The probes had to be taken off and washed before it would work. The doctor came in to examine me and this examination took no more than 10 mins. Not what I expected being a new patient and all. After the doctor left the nurse returned with the now clean probes which sort of worked this time but my EKG was off requiring me to return in 2 weeks and pay a copay for another read. This is an okay place but I dont think I would want to continue to come here. I have a follow up in 3 mths so maybe the 3rd time is a charm.

I am not one to complain or write a review about anything. But after my experience I have had with Dr. Imam, I would be doing the world a disgrace by not warning them to stay away from this place. Dr. Imam is the most rude doctor I have ever been to. I have seen her about 4 times in the past year for a few different things and each time she has been the same. She is very short and rude, cuts you off when you are trying to explain to her what the reason is you are there to see her in the first place. She does not listen. Also, if you go to her office, you will be waiting a minimum of at least 1 hour before you see her. Typically, it will be an even longer wait than that. I am highly disappointed with Dr. Imam and her practice. I only stuck with her for this long because I am getting married next month and will be moving away. So I have no choice but to find another doctor. YAY!

If you are willing to wait at least an hour but feels like forever despite being made prior appointment and having low volume of patients at the clinic this is the place to go. The people are the most unprofessional, unhelpful and unfriendly. The front desk girl doesnt know a thing shes doing and lazy to the extreme. Its me who has to ask for the chart to fill out, the clipboard to sign on. Dr. Imam is rude and sarcastic. Then again I didnt expect the doctors to be friendly in the first place. But there should be certain level of professionalism you expect out a human. She lacks that. My dad runs an urgent care clinic with extremly high volume of patients even his clinic does a better job getting the process done fast and smoothly and getting patients satisfaction (too bad they are in midwest). I went to Dulles Family Medicine twice and swore off not to return.

Wish there was less than one star. Worst experience ever. Unprofessional, unfriendly and nasty dr.Imam. I had to go there over 7 times within a week as they were unsure of what to do. Ive paid over 2000$ without knowing what exactly am paying for!. When I asked for a payment report to sort it out, they kept delaying it. Havent got it until now. Dr. Shamim insulted me on many occasions. She spoken unwell about my ethnicity. Moreover, dr.Imam hanged up on me. She is a woman with attitude that will make you hate the day you chosen to see her. It has been 3 weeks and they have not done my work. Im still waiting and feel bad about over than 2000$ has been paid for nonsense. Please, be Carful of Dr. Shamim Imam and do not get through my experience. :(

Dulles Family Medicine was recommended to me by one of my friends that has been going there for years. The office is nicely situated in the Herndon area near Reston town center in a medical building with two or three other offices. My first visit went extremely well in comparison to my past experiences. The staff size was about 2-3 people and the paperwork did not take long as I was seen within 10 minutes. The nurse was nice and friendly and the doctor was straightforward with a lot of expertise in her area as I believe she has been practicing for almost fifteen years now. She is easy to reach and made sure to follow up with me with my lab reports. Overall, I would say the service and care is excellent.

I went to Dulles Family Medicine after already having tried a couple doctors in the area. The office is set in an easy to access location. The staff was friendly and easy to communicate with and also had a Spanish speaker available. I only had to wait about 10 minutes before being seen by the doctor. The doctor was knowledgeable and referred me right away to a specialist that I needed and answered all of my questions efficiently and thoroughly. I like that she gets straight to the point and does not waste time with patients. She has helped a lot since I began going to Dulles Family Medicine and I will continue to go there for a long time.
