If I could give no stars I would! **BEWARE when scheduling appointments here** Unfortunately one would not think to have to ask the name of the office employee when making your yearly physical appointment BUT BEWARE!! ASK and write it down. When you get to your appointment at the front desk AGAIN confirm what you are to be seen for. Normally you wouldnt need to be so vigile but at this family practice you MUST. What happened to me CAN happen to you. I called to schedule my yearly physical and was told my physican only scheduled them at 8am. I informed them I took my child to school and that wouldnt work so they let me know they would check with Dr. Risser and see if she would accommodate me. I received a call back and they said it was fine and scheduled me. I went in and signed in and no one asked for my copay because my insurance covers a yearly physical. Had my appt and they took my blood for test etc. Checked my vitals etc. I asked for my medications to be refilled. During the exam it was determined I had a sinus infection for which I was prescribed medication. THIS IS WHERE I BELIEVE IT ALL WENT WRONG. I believe they changed my appointment code to a problem visit because of this and charged my insurance company as a problem visit and not my COVERED yearly physical. I am sure in an attempt to get more money out of the insurance company. IF the appt was scheduled as a problem visit as they later said then THEY WOULD HAVE ASKED FOR MY COPAY UP FRONT BELIEVE THAT. When does your doctors office not ask for that money up front. At my next appointment a month later I was told I had a balance from the previous visit. I explained it was a physical covered therefore should be no copay. I was greeted with an attitude and given billings phone. I called billing and was told oh well if you were treated for anything other than your physical (sinus infection) then they will change it and charge you for a sick visit. I decided to call my doctors office because surely this was not the case. Left message with office staff on a Tuesday. Went through entire situation explaining and was assured a return call. NO RETURN CALL. Called back on Monday morning at 9am. Was told they were short staffed and busy helping patients and someone would AGAIN call back. NO ONE DID. I called back 5 hours later and was told AGAIN someone would call back. I had to finally say I was coming up to the office in person because I couldnt get anyone to help me. Within 5 minutes I got a call back from billing person in the doctors office. She THEN TOLD ME SHE NEEDED TO SPEAK with the physician and call me back AGAIN. Another person called me back who said she was the office manager and basically told me in the computer it was put in as a problem visit NOT a physical and there was nothing she could do. I called back asking for my Dr. To return my call. She called and told me the SAME thing. No one apparently cares about their patients no longer returning to the office. All they care about is money obviously. It was their mistake but zero cares came from this practice. Not from Dr. Risser or her staff. All I got was I apologize. Might has said well sorry but you are OUT OF LUCK. If you go to this practice be very careful. We pay thousands of dollars a year for out insurance plan. In recent years health insurance costs have risen to astronomical prices. Cost go up but coverage keeps getting stingy and stingyer. If insurance will cover at least a physical a year I as a customer and patient should not have to go through this. Its NOT ABOUT the price of the bill. Its the principal. I will no longer be a patient of Dr. Risser and this circus of an office staff.

Ive been going here for almost 2 years. When I first became a patient here, I had the pleasure of having Dr. Schroeder as my doctor. He was wonderful and nothing could have stopped me from attending. I figured that if I could get past the front office and ignore how they were when speaking to them, Id be happy because I had a wonderful doctor who truely cared. Sadly, he passed away and they were left with whos there now. Although, the Doctors arent too bad, they dont have the same bedside manner. Its obvious that theyd be perfectly happy to get you in and out quickly as though theyre herding cattle. Its a real shame considering theyve been given a gift and have no empathy towards their patients. Now top it off with the front office staff and receptionists who speak very rudely to you on the phone and its like having teeth pulled just to call. I avoid that office as much as possible and thankfully havent been in need of a doctor. I dread each and every time I have to call because the rudeness is unbelievable. Its definitely time for me to find a doctors office that has compassionate people working for them. This is the worst doctors office Ive ever had to deal with and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Being a military family weve had to switch doctors a lot and its unfortunate to have come across one that supports a front office staff that treats their patients in this way.

I do not think they even deserve this one star, however, it would not let me give no stars. I went to this practice and had the worst experience ever. The lady who fist greeted me appeared unhappy and grumpy. She had no personality whatsoever. It would appear she does not like her job, so maybe she needs to move onto another job. Not sure what her problem is. It went from that, to being called back by the doctors nurse. She also appeared unhappy, grumpy, and overall uninterested in her job. She was snippy and short with me when I asked her a few questions. At this point, I must say, I was over this place! Next, a Dr. Risser comes in. Yeah, let me say, not a nice lady. She also had a general overall "I dont give a S**T attitude. She had no bedside manner! The worst was there was a patient in another room next to mine and I could here her being awful to the patient in the room next to mine. I felt so bad for the patient in the next room! You could hear everything she was saying to this poor client because she was speaking so loud. I did not want to even see this woman after I heard her speak to this poor client the way she did. I am not sure if this lady is having a hormonal imbalance or is just naturally this way, but to speak to your clients in such a humiliating way, and others can hear you, what a shame. I will never go back!

This place is horrible! You can never get an appointment at this particular location. They are always "supposedly" booked. Often times they end up sending you to another Bon Secour sister practice, so the doctor that is your PCP you never actually get to see. It is ridiculous! I finally ended up switching PCPs to one of their sister branches, because they kept pushing me to this particular location, when they were "booked." Also, if you need prescription refills, forget it, they often claim they never got the fax from your pharmacy requesting your refills. However, your pharmacy can show you proof of their sent requests. The staff is rude and do not go out of their way to be helpful at all. The doctor I was seeing was rude, uncaring, and even came in with a very negative attitude, and proceeded to yell at me for no reason. Her nurse was just as rude, uncaring, and was abrasive in the way she would speak to clients. If you have a choice and can pick another practice, do so, I am sorry I wasted time and money on this practice. This place is a joke.
