This hospital really need to improve their work ethic with ER first. Dr. Kim was great. Had a PA who was an arrogant jerk. A doctor wanna be. Nurses sitting on bed in empty room talking about boyfriend and drinking. No patients family should hear this. Their ER needs remodeling. Not built correctly. Nurses are so much in a rush, they are rude and abrasive. Got a bill for $27,000.00 after my dad admitted for Observation a couple days. STAY WITH FAMILY BECAUSE IF THEY NEED IV FLUIDS YOU CAN FORGET IT. IT WAS AUG. 2015. Next time I went with my dad in Jan. 2016. Nice Dr. Kim. A sweetheart. Nurses at shift change. I get it... Ready to go home but no courtesy in Staff nurses. They actually avoid you. I walked right back because no one was at the desk. Boy. Go to Henrico Doctors Hospital or Johnston Willis. Stay away from John Randolph in Hopewell also. That hospital stinks. Well because my dad lives near SRMC and has a great Internal Medicine physician. We are here again. I will be reevaluating ratings of his stay later since he was a direct admit this time. BUT TAKE IT FROM AN ER SPECIALTY MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL .... STAY OUT OF THEIR ER UNLESS YOU GET SHOT AND PLAN TO DIE. IT IS REALLY SAD. There are some really nice physicians and nurses that work there but overall Admistrstion really need to hire managers to FIX THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE. IT IS REALLY LACKING. Their volunteers are nicer and they work for free. I realize staff is short. Nurses stressed but they have to provide a staff that really cares and at least fake it if they cant make it!!! Very sad place. The coffee smells good. The hospital looks clean. They really have some very unhappy staff that they need to fix. DAY 2 THE ONLY REASON THEY GET ONE STAR IS BECAUSE THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO EVALUATE. NURSES FLYING UP AND DOWN THE HALLS CRAZY BECAUSE THEY ARE OVERWHELMED. I REALLY HATE THIS HOSPITAL AND ENCOURAGE NO ONE TO STAY HERE. THEIR ADMINISTRATOR DOESNT EVEN COME VISIT THE UNITS. THIS HOSPITAL NEEDS SOME SERIOUS COMPETITION!!!

DROPPED THE BALL ONCE AGAIN SOUTHSIDE REGIONAL!! I do NOT lose my cool like this easily BUT YOUVE done it ONCE AGAIN!!! Here for a medical appointment. Use valet parking like always. Great service, sweet lady handled my vehicle... I come out, ticket stub in hand. Valet has just decided to go home for the day without letting anyone in on it..... stand around in the heat for 30 minutes waiting for said nice valet lady. This is when I find out shes gone for the day. Okay front desk ladies... so wheres my keys? Ill go and walk to get my damn car myself! What?!?! You dont know where theyd keep my keys?!? Do you know that there are half a dozen folks waiting for valet to be back to bring their car and YOU dont know where our keys would be? They call security to see if they know anything. They think to look in the safe. WOW, SECURITY CANT EVEN OPEN A SAFE? hmmmmm.... IM FLIPPING LIVID!!!!! Finally they take a SCREW DRIVER to the safe convinced that the only place the keys would be is in this safe.... THEY WERE RIGHT, an HOUR AND A HALF LATER!!!! RIDICULOUS SOUTHSIDE REGIONAL!!!!!!!!!! Oh, Did I mention this whole time I had an 80 year old disabled woman with me and that I MYSELF am disabled but had to walk the entire lot to find my car on my own with no direction in the July heat... NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!

I am giving this one star for the ER staff. I had to go to SRMC last fall for a shot. I have never been required to pay a copay for an ER visit but had to pay $150 upon check out. Once I received a bill for the CRAZY amount paid on tests I am not sure they even ran, I called to set up an automatic payment plan. The first month came out, then the second month did not come out and I received a bill. I called and talked w/someone who said I did not have an automatic payment set up so I set it up (supposedly) again. Payments continued to come out but in May, again, they missed taking my payment out again. I called again; got put into a voice mail, but no one called me back. June and July came out of my account, THEN I got a notice of collection from an outside agency! WTH? I just called them and they said I had not "paid" for two months! When I begged to differ and said that I could prove I have an automatic payment plan set up and had since November of 2016 she basically told me it did not matter, it was my fault. No way will I or any other family member ever set foot in that hospital again for any reason. The business office ALONE should keep folks away! I will drive to Richmond! Thank God I am a healthy person. Dont go there.

I wish I could give zero stars for this rating. I took my newborn son to have his heel pricked for a newborn screen retest. The hospital he was born in does it right after birth. These tests help detect serious genetic disorders. A lady in laboratories LOST HIS FREAKING TEST and I waited two AGONIZING weeks and THEY NEVER NOTIFIED ME. The state lab said they never received the blood sample. So I went back. He had his heel pricked a third time. And they have to SQUEEZE the blood out and fill like 4 circles and completely saturate the card. The state lab received it this time. It said the blood that was collected did not saturate the card enough and therefore could not be tested. So I had been waiting a month to see if my son had a genetic disorder that would not allow him to process protein. It was a nightmare. I ended up going to Lab Corp in Prince George. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS HORRIBLE PLACE AGAIN. Praise God that my son does not have any genetic disorders but please do not take your children here. I hope I can prevent a mother from going through the horrible waiting game I went through all because the women in Laboratories are careless and selfish.

This is the WORST Hospital I have ever went to. I am from Florida, got transported there by the EMS and basically they were not protecting my privacy as far as undressing me which PISSED my husband off. The doctor that night was very RUDE and basically accused me or wrongful acts that I do not indulge in. He has created a monster out of me from my experience regarding this hospital. Placed wrongful information on my medical records that I have to amend to have removed because he was not doing his job and assumed what he wanted to. But thats why I have legal proof to back me up from my doctors office locally. The physician this night did not respect my rights and violated my HIPPA rights to the 99. I would never recommend anyone to this facility (not even if they were dying). I have no trust in the physicians. The ladies in the Admin department are very helpful as far as pointing me in the right direction to provide information for me to pursue matters. I greatly appreciate their help. Thats about it as far as customer service and hospitality goes.
