I would like to commend the administration and staff for what has been an exceptional period of rehab for my wife. This was our familys first experience with a rehab facility. We were unsure of what to expect; however, the anxiety and uncertainty was quickly put to rest on our first nights arrival. A nurse came into the room and assured us that she would do everything possible to make our stay pleasant. This was done without her even know what the circumstances were surrounding my wifes condition and how extensive rehab was going to be. In the nearly 21 days that my wife has been a patient at the facility, everyday we were treated exceptionally well. There was not a day that passed a staff members did not ask my wife how she was doing, is there anything she needed, and even carried over to them wanting to make sure I was comfortable. Every person we meet were cordial professional and committed to making our stay as enjoyable as possible. My wife felt that all of the nurses, staff, and the administration were personally concerned with her progress and well-being. This meant so much to her rehab. I want to personally thank administrator. Jennifer Pressman, and he entire staff from CNAs to physical therapists, for making our time there extraordinary. My husband Walter Fisher, spent six weeks at this rehab center after being hospitalized for one week with an illness that had left him completely immobilized. Walter received excellent care during his stay; he gradually was able to move around in the wheel chair and go to rehab twice a day for his PT and OT and eventually he was using the walker and them his cane and pretty much was on his own by the end of six weeks. The entire staff at this facility was awesome in the way they took care of my husband. He really liked being there even though he was 90 miles from home so you can imagine how good the staff treated Walter. This was his second stay at this center and that same treatment two years ago was what brought him back to this facility. I would highly recommend this facility for a loved one, or yourself, that needs rehabilitation or other healthcare needs.

My father was a patient at Salem H&RC for about a month last fall, after being hospitalized for complications from Multiple System Atrophy. During this time, he received individualized care with all staff learning about and adapting to his specific illness, along with much friendly care. The staff all seemed to really enjoy their jobs and to take each client as an individual and treated them as family. Speech and Physical Therapy helped him to be able to use his muscles again as much as possible and to be able to move his arms and to be able to swallow enough to enjoy some tastes again. I love that he can stick his tongue out when I tease him again! They were so kind to my mother who had to stay with him as he was unable to communicate without her. They made sure she was comfortable and cared for as well.

As a former employee, I have witnessed things that family members have not. This was not only an awful place to work, it is an awful place for your loved ones. Ive witnesses AND reported patient abuse by a nurse, only for the nurse to be sent home for 1 day. And that nurse, to this day, continues to work there. The CNAs do not provide professional care to the residents. They are often rude and abusive. Ive been a victim of harassment both sexual and verbal by nurses and CNAs. I can understand why family members are so pleased with the performance of this facility, because they only see whats going on from the outside. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I have reported everything Ive witnessed to the administration and no changes were made.

They all go beyond the call of duty. Courtney my discharge planner has been great. She has allowed me to ask questions and has answered them. The activity department is really good. I am a Marine and Shannon the activity department head got an active duty Marine to come visit me and surprised me with some memoribilia so I can show my pride. My unit manager has responded when Ive had issues and gotten results quickly. My sister also lives here and I have been satisfied by her care. Matthew the dietary head listens to my likes and dislikes and sends me what I ask for.

March 10, 2015 I am very appreciative to Carla Thomas for the courtesy, professionalism, and sincere efforts extended to my family when my mother-in law came to Salem Health. Mrs. Thomas gave us an excellent tour of the facility, we met many of the staff who were very courteous, and we also had the opportunity to meet the administrator. We have been very pleased with the services to help ensure that our family member is comfortable. God bless each of you!

My mom Doris,Stayed for over a month,Carla Thomas and Her staff were very caring,If I ever need to go to a rehab or nurseing home I want to go here!!!!!!I cant say enough good about the whole staff From Hope to the clean up crew,It was very clean!!! A++++++ For this place.My mom had her 1st stay at Friendship manor it was a nightmare,she was scared to go in salem rehab & health the staff had her at ease in just a hour!Salem Health & Rehababilitation the people care about you!!!!!

I have visited Salem Health & Rehab Center on many occasions.My first impression which I consider very important is cleanliness. When you enter the facility there is no odor and the lobby is beautifully appointed. The Staff treat the patients with respect and love. I would recommend this Facility to anyone who needs short or long time care,reason being they really seem to take the patients needs and concerns to heart and follow thru on taking care of them in an excellent way.

I really enjoy living here. The people that work in this place really make you feel wanted. I swear Ive put on ten pounds, the food here is so good. Its very nice and Ive made some real friends. The ladies in activities sure do give me plenty of entertainment.

My therapy is going well. Matt the dietary manger has done a good job and I especially love the spaghetti. My CNAs are very organized and my nurses efficient. It s clean here and I have no complaints. Everyone is friendly and has been very helpful.

My Father was a patient there and they let dirty sheats on the bed. They wouldnt feed him on time or help him eat or change his bandages without you going up there and complain like 5O times.
