One of the very best animal hospitals I know of - Anywhere. This hospital has extremely competent doctors and while some of them have changed over the years, the quality remains. Ssomething I especially like about Owl Creek as compared to so many veterinary care facilities is that they hire competent AND nice, personable vet techs and front office people. Seems so often its a choice between nice or competent. Not here! It is obvious they take great care with who they hire. Ive seen over time, some people upset with Owl Creeks prices - Well, I think its a classic example of the "You get what you pay for" philosophy. Yes, you often do pay more here, but its worth it. I have to admit though, there have been times Ive chosen to go elsewhere for routine things, in order to avoid their prices. While I absolutely feel they are worth it, I do wish their prices were a bit closer to some of the other places so that those of us who really like Owl Creek could just go ahead and use them for everything, from routine care to boarding to serious problems. A note on their boarding - I highly recommend them for cats and for dogs. They have a lovely, comfortable, and VERY CLEAN facility. You just about never smell that "kennel smell" in here. Again though, the pricing can get in the way. While so often Ive wanted to use them for trips of longer duration, their prices add up a lot quicker than some of the other places. If their prices were a bit closer to my other choices for boarding Id probably never use any of the other places. When money is not an issue though, they are always my choice for boarding.

ASK THEM FOR THE PRICE BEFORE THEY TOUCH YOUR PET.THEY WILL SEND YOU BILLS AFTER. THEY NEVER TOLD Me THAT EVERY GLUCOSE TEST W COST FOR ME $24.10 THEY JUST SEND ME A BILL AFTER.From the beginning I ask the business women (its not even a doctor) if I can do test at home she told me its to complicated with dogs(I LOOKED A VIDEO NOTHING COMPLICATED !! its very easy to do and less stress for your pet!!)HEY I CAN DO THIS FOR LESS THEN 0.50 cents AT HOME.PLUS THEY KEEP MY POOR THING BABY FOREVER FOR THIS TEST WICH MAKES HIM VERY NERVOUS AND HIS SUGAR IS GOING UP BUT THEY Dont CARE ABOUT THIS(i knew they taking a pic of my baby)glucose test usually takes less then 1 min.......During my waiting time I figured out there are customers 60& up(this the age of people whom are not friendly with internet).DID YOU EVER SEE VET HOSPITAL TO BILL YOU AFTER????NO I NEVER SEE SOMETHING LIKE THIS FOR 7 YEARS!!!and on the end on the phone they told me that I left the office without paying .....hahahaha ok why you didnt tell me to pay when I comeback few hours later????!!KEEP YOUR BABY A WAY FROM BUSINESS GO TO REAL DOCTOR !!!

We took our 6 month old pup, Delta, to OC because she had a tumor that sprung up on her ear out of nowhere. I was a little bit nervous to go, since I didnt know anyone who would personally brought their pet care and because of some of the reviews that I read werent the greatest. But our experience with Dr. J along as well as with the rest of the staff was a great one. They were friendly and knowledgeable and they didnt try to force me into making any decisions I didnt want to make. Dr. J also offered options to help us save some money on the procedure that we ended up having to have done on our Deltas ear. Some people complain about the cost of this vet but honestly, all private vets will have higher prices than if you were to take your pet to some chain like Petsmart. In my experience, chain store vets never offer the level of care and concern as many private vets do. Thanks Dr. J and the staff of OC!

Our family has relied on OCVH for nearly 30 years and spent 10s of thousands of dollars for routine, acute, and specialized care for our pets over the decades. That said, it genuinely pains me to submit a negative review for this clinic. Recent changes with their policies and pricing have turned our once beloved hospital into a money grabbing profit-focused outfit. Will you get good or great care, typically - yes. However, bring your gold card or first born, because its going to cost you 25% to 100% more for similar care compared to most any other clinic/hospital. Yes, our household can afford their care, but we refuse to get suckered in by their holier than thou attitude any longer. So, if you can spend a lot more, feel free to do so. If youre like us, and are tired of paying waaaay to much, then you might want to shop around. Sad, we will no longer depend on OCVH for the care of our pets.

My parents cat was diagnosed with a stomach tumor just days before they traveled to California to visit me, so we left him in the care of my grandparents who live in the Virginia Beach area. Unfortunately, the cats health declined very rapidly while they were cross-country and we had to make the difficult decision to go through the euthanasia process long-distance. While this was not the outcome we were hoping for, everyone at Owl Creek was extremely kind throughout the coordination and facilitation of the procedure. We are grateful to the doctors and staff for helping to end Dukes suffering and we appreciate the care and support we were given in this difficult time.

I love this veterinary. Everyone is so nice here and really treat the animals great. I especially love bringing Biddles here to get his hair cut. Being a Bejon his hair grows fast and tends to cause infections if not pulled out of the ears. I never have to tell them how to groom Biddles. It is also convenient having the vet with the groomer. Once the groomer found a cancer spot when trimming Biddles and we had it removed the next day. Keep up the good work.

This place is ridiculously expensive. My dog had a stomach virus and they charged me $464.00 to tell me. They feel its "necessary" to conduct extremely pricey testing..... This is not the first time Ive heard of OC tacking on unnecessary testing to jack up the bill. I will be finding a new vet.

Ive been coming to owl Creek for about 6 years now. I love the entire staff team, I never worry if my dogs are boarding there either. Ive had nothing but great experiences here. I once looked into other vet care for my pups that was closer to our home and it wasnt the same as OCVH.
