It is really close to our home and not a lot of main traffic goes through here, so it made me feel at ease that they were so accessible during rush hour. We got our first family dog late last year (a boxer puppy) and were nervous about bringing him to the vet. They dispelled all of the myths and stories about bad vet visits from the get go. The receptionist was a delight and the team they have there were so loving and friendly to my pup, that he did not want to leave! He had to get 2 shots that day and they were petting and hugging on him while he got them, and he never even felt it. I got a lot of information that day and the vet also gave me helpful tips on what I need to do for him, without pushing or pressuring me into getting unnecessary shots. She was also very patient when he wouldnt sit still for her (mind you, he is a 3 month old puppy), during that time, she answered all my questions while calming him down enough for her to listen to his heart rate. An absolutely wonderful experience and I loved the fact that I was able to sit in the exam room with them while they took care of my puppy. Any pet owners that live close to this area really must give them a visit sometime.

My dog has been a patient here for the past few years. WE LOVE SVH! Weve seen both Dr. Sheffield and Dr. Hundley over the years - they are both so personable, really take the time to explain things to you and answer your questions, and show care for you as well as your furbaby. My dog is getting older and has a bad back, so they always have a towel on the table to give him traction when we go in. Little things like that show that they truly care for your pet. Recently my little buddy blew a disk in his back; I was afraid to take him in because I thought wed have to euthanize, but they started a fairly new technique called laser therapy and in less than a week of treatments he is back to acting like himself and feeling good. The techs all love on him when we go in, and he actually adores going to the vet! Ive had a number of vets over the years due to moving but he has never enjoyed going to any of them until now. The staff feel more like friends than doctors, but you know you are in good hands and can trust their judgment completely. I CANNOT recommend them highly enough!!

Having worked in the field for a number of years I was very pleased with the first impression of the staff and the facility. However, I was not pleased with the fact that I waited over an hour for my appointment and the vet never even apologized for keeping me waiting. Another issue I had was that the prices were not listed for the clients to see in the waiting rooms or that the cost of treatment was not discussed before they decided to just start treating my dog. I walked in with the assumption that my bill would be under $80 and walked out with a $200 vet bill. I was also appalled that they charged me $44 for a medication that pet meds charges only $25 for, but they never even offered me the option to buy it online. The medication is sold to the vet from Bayer for only $10, what a markup! I can’t believe the mark up on the meds just to make a buck.

The Salem Vetrinary Hospital is where I take our Cat. We have been taking him there for about a year now. I interviewd several Vets prior to settling upon SVH. Why did I choose them, because: 1.Dr. Robinson and his staff took the time to answer my questions and calm my concerns, no matter how silly and outrageous they were. 2. Dr. Robinson drew notes so I could understand exactly what he was talking about, not to dumb me down, but so that I could understand what my pet was going through - and I really liked that. 3. Even though Dr. Robinson has moved on, the Vets there now really care, and they look after my cat, put up with my insecurities and put me at ease. In short, I think they are a great clinic and will continue to visit them.

My puppies have been patients (and fans) of Dr. Hunleys since they were born. We followed her to Salem Veterinary because my dogs couldnt phantom a new doctor after they had such a splendid one already. I have been very happy and pleased with the entire office and we love them!! They are amazing doctors and they have an equally amazing staff. They are worth the drive and I dont hesitate to pass 4 other vets to get to them.

I have been taking my 2 pets there for about a year. The staff is always super polite and friendly and appear to love their jobs. They have helped them through medical issues including one that involved them referring me to a specialist even though the vet said she could attempt the surgery if I wanted. The fact that they are more concerned about my furry family than making a $ is amazing.
