I am deathly terrified of going to the dentist. I mean I shake just saying the word. After speaking with coworker about Lake Ridge Dental Associates, I decided to try again. I am the type of Patient that can be difficult if not handled correctly. Brooklyn was a saint when it came to scheduling my initial consultation. My hygienist and Doctor were both great also. (Dr. A) The first time i actually felt like I trust a dental office. I have been lied to multiple times in the past. This experience was different, it started with my treatment plan. There was a $400 error in their favor. I told them that they should eat the cost. Since they made the mistake. I still agreed to pay it and proceeded to schedule my visit for part of my treatment. I received a piece of mail a couple days later from the practice that said, they would not be treating me cause I was disruptive and and not trusting of their practice. After multiple apologies and even a letter of apology, they still thought it would be best to part ways. I still dont have specifics. What really drives me up the wall, is when I was scheduling the initial consultation with Brooklyn, I explained in great detail, what kind of patient I am, she assured me that I can be taken care of. (another lie) I have found out the reasons their reviews on Yelp are so positive is because they turn away patients that are difficult to deal with. I really hate leaving negative reviews, they didnt even call me to tell me about terminating our relationship. They only sent me a piece of mail, that could have easily been overlooked. Be warned -

I went to lake ridge dental care for an emergency visit since I was in pain. I found them online, and their reviews are great, so I thought this might be my new dentist if it worked out (new to the area). They were able to diagnose the issue, and told me I needed to have a wisdom tooth extracted. Lake Ridge Dental was unable to schedule the procedure until three weeks later. Anyone who has had a toothache knows how awful it is...There was no way I could wait that long with the pain I was in! So I made an appointment elsewhere for the same week. When I called Lake Ridge Dental to request a copy of my X-rays, I was asked if I was going to another dentist. I said yes, and then was told its a $50 fee. A fifty dollar fee for two images? I have never heard of this before! And Im asking for a digital version - literally a quick attachment to an email. Apparently it is legal to charge for copies of your own records, but I dont think its ethical. I would have been back for general care, but Ill definitely pass. Its worth a mention too that the woman at the front desk handling appointments was not friendly, and I found the doctor to be scattered and hard to follow. Maybe its because my appointment was squeezed in, and I threw them off their game. Maybe it was just an off day. Either way, after my visit Im not sure why they have so many positive reviews, except for the fact that they have signs all over the office offering a gift card for a good review. I wonder when mine will come in the mail!

Im like most people, not a fan of the dentist. However, my experience at Lake Ridge Dental was superb. The office is beautiful and there is ample seating with plenty of reading material and even a Keurig and a fridge for beverage needs. The staff was helpful, organized, and knowledgeable. I filled out my paperwork beforehand (Its a little lengthy), so I didnt really have to wait. The hygienist explained to me everything that was happening and why and she seemed more than willing to take questions. I was checked out first by the hygienist to tell me what kind of cleaning I needed and then the dentist came in to review my imaging studies and have a look inside my mouth. This office has a 3-D scanner that allows the patient to actually view inside their own skull. There are also the traditional bite wing x-rays and panoramic films. Everything was quick, painless, and easy to understand. After we determined what sort of work I would need, I was ushered back to the waiting room where I waited for my name to be called, again, This time I met with an administrative person who went over every aspect of my bill with me. I would absolutely recommend this office to anyone. Also, if youre a tad anxious, theyll supply the laughing gas for free!

I had a very painful toothache and my usual dentists office was closed. I started looking for someone who could see me the same day and was pleasantly surprised when Lake Ridge Dental Care said they could. Their front office emailed me all the forms they needed so I could complete them ahead of time and bring them with me to my 2pm appt. Upon arrival at the office, I checked-in, turned in my forms and within 7 minutes was in an exam chair getting xrays. Dr. Sheila Agullana and her dental assistant, Carl, were AMAZING! Dr. Agullana was very thorough at describing and discussing the dental issues I was experiencing, what my treatment options were and the treatment timeline. One of the very nice front office folks also came back to let me know what was covered by insurance and what wasnt and what my responsibility would be. Dr. Agullana provided me prescriptions for the infection and pain and even started prepping the tooth by cleaning it out and putting in a temporary filling as an additional effort to help relieve my pain and discomfort. I was very impressed with their staff and their office and will likely make them my new regular dental practice! Thank you Lake Ridge Dental Care!

My family has received care at Lake Ridge Dental for several years now. We moved to Dr. Tarpley after a horrible experience with a nearby dentist. It was one of the best health care decisions weve ever made. The doctors and staff are first and foremost, professionals. Experts, but also keenly aware of the need for compassion and reassurance for dental procedures. When our young son cried -- the doctors and nurses stroked his hand to comfort him -- and reassured his father who was arguably more in need (lol). That reassurance is immeasurable, and none too lacking in many places. As for the staff, Susan is a diamond among a chest of gems. She has assisted us in making sure we take full advantage of our insurance benefits. The whole front end staff has been friendly and flexible. Schedulibng is never a difficult process. Neither is payment. Just a pleasant experience all around. Thanks Dr. Tarpley, et al. You should be proud of the practioce youve built on the simple concept of care, comapssion and service. It really works.

The Dentist is very nice but do not do a teeth cleaning, the experience was not pleasant at all. The suction hose was not working properly and water was pouring out of my mouth forcing me to swallow some of the dirty water from the cleaning, Gross! Also the suction hose was placed in one side scrapping and creating an irritation in my throat causing some swelling and discomfort. When I returned to my job, I examined the area and it was extremely red and swelling, I gave them a call and the receptionist told me that that was normal and if it gets blistered to go over there for medicine. WHO GETS THEIR THROAT SWELLING AND IRRITATED FOR A CLEANING?? I have been doing cleanings for a long, long time and not once I have gotten any situation like this, never an issue. Maybe the suction hose was not very clean, I dont know but now it is hurting and painful to swallow. :-(
