Since about 1979/1980 I have had the pleasure and honor to say that my animals have been under the care of Farris Veterinary Clinic. I have come to expect nothing short of respect, dignity, sensitivity along with expertise concerning all my pets. With dogs that have lived long (18, 17 years) and current (9, 2 years) happy lives (cats, rabbits, birds domestic and wild) all were treated the same. I can only attribute their well health by the care and attentiveness of this clinic. When notified of the burning I was sadden to hear of the senseless criminal act that a selfish, heartless person had done. Not only did this take away a beautiful historic building, but lives were disrupted. Dr. Farris and his staff yes but this included all those that had grown to depend for the care of their animals. Dr. Farris and his staff kept their doors open, working around the different challenges of not having files, equipment and space. I am happy to note that Dr. Farris and his Clinic opened their doors in the rebuilt new facility. Thank you Dr. Farris and Staff for being there for all my past,current and future pets. JH

The first time I used this clinic my experience was very positive so when I moved to Puyallup I decided to use them as my vet. Unfortunately, the very next time I used them there were serious issues. When I walked in, an off leash dog bit me. The receptionist finished her phone call while I fended him off myself and my dog. No acknowledgement of the incident at all. Then my dog was taken without a word of explanation of the procedure and I was told when to pick him up. When I came back to pick him up, I found out that the procedure not only involved anesthesia, but 7 tooth extractions, none of which was even mentioned as a possibility. Then the bill, which had been quoted at about $50 turned out to be $250 because of the extra- unauthorized- procedures. Instead of further burdening our legal system, I tried to communicate my dissatisfaction via a letter explaining the disaster and requesting my dogs records as we would not be returning. The letter was mailed locally and would have been recieved roughly two days ago. I as yet have no response. Very poor service, very poor ethics.

Farris Veterinary Clinic had been highly recommended to me for years by three of my friends; however, I thought the distance from my residence was too great. Meanwhile, I was not happy with my current and local veterinarian of 20 years, yet remained loyal until a botched surgery ended with fatal results. After some online research that same week, I visited Dr. Farris and his staff to transfer the care of my remaining pets and have been more than pleased with their care, treatments, ongoing therapy, genuine courtesy and family like atmosphere. My youngest dog is a 4 year old mini Dachshund with particular physical issues of which the staff has valuable knowledge and personal experience in treating similar cases. With fellow Dachshund owners as staff members, I knew we were now in the best of hands! Big or small, dog, cat, bird or otherwise, your pets will be in great care at Farris Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Farris is very caring and genuinely loves animals. We will take our precious fur babies to him for as long as he is practicing medicine. Hes always conscious of trying to save us money on office visits by not conducting expensive and unnecessary treatments or tests. For example, we took our dog to Buckley Vet about 2 years ago and they charged us $30 to look at our dogs skin flakes under a microscope and see if there was any flea dirt (poop) visible. Dr. Farris just gave the dogs belly a scratch and squirted water on the stuff that came off. The water ran red indicating evidence of fleas and so the test was effective and involved no silly extra charge. I was amazed and a little ticked that Id spent so much at Buckley to have the results be inconclusive. Farris clinic is a great place to take your animals!

This old fashioned vet has affordable prices and does not try to sell you extras. Everyone, especially Dr. Farris, is warm, compassionate, and really listens to your individual circumstances. Since Ive explained in the beginning that I am extremely poor, but want to give my pets the best possible care, they have kept that in mind, and helped me make the most appropriate choices, but they also are responsive and able to provide that top-shelf care, for those fortunate enough to afford it. I have utilized many vets over the years, and (aside from retired Dr Bean from Skyway), he is my favorite. I could not recommend them enough!

Dr. Farris is very knowledgeable,caring,practical, and is personable, to people and pets. Yet also extremely professional. Reminds me of the guy in all creatures great and small. Im a blue collar type and i like that he wears carhartt pants and romeos. The preffered garb of many professional blue collar workers. His prices are super reasonable. I take 3 beagles to him and he always takes great care of them.

We have been taking our animals to Dr. Farris for over 22 years. He is extremely reasonable in price. Probably the best thing about this vet is his common sense and reasoning with our animals. He is compassionate and caring and realistic. Over those 22 years he has had to assist us with putting down our very sick animals and performed this with such compassion. I wouldnt take my animals to anyone else.

Dr Farris has been taking care of my pets for 5 years. I am always happy with the care he gives. I have also had some fun times in his waiting area. There is often lovely people and pets. Once we meet a pig! There is a sense of community and caring in his office and with his staff that makes me feel very comfortable even in the hard times when I have had a sick pet. I am so grateful I found Dr Farris.

Great local vet with reasonable prices. I took my rescue dog to Dr. Farris for her initial checkup and plan on going back for as long as we have her. When our dog wouldnt let anyone clip her nails and Petsmart told us they couldnt do it, he had all four paws done in about ten minutes. Great office atmosphere and front desk staff too, highly recommended!
