I was told I would need to pay the initial fee of 69.00 and once my insurance is billed I would be reimbursed. I have a primary and secondary dental insurance. I only received x-rays and 6 month cleaning. In July I contacted the company about reimbursement of the initial fees. I was told neither of my insurance had paid although my secondary insurance made a payment in June. However they said they would contact my primary insurance again and contact me back. I contacted the office again in August they noted they still had not received payment. I contacted the office again in October and was told they had not received payment and would not bill my additional dental insurance until the primary made payment was spoken to rudely and hung up on. I contacted the company again today requesting to speak with the office manager, the receptionist told me she doubted they would call me back and it was a courtesy for them to bill the insurance and proceeded to hang up on me each time I called. I went to the office paid the balance on my bill, I was again instructed its not their policy to bill the insurance its a courtesy that they extend. I have since spoken to my insurance and they each have sent in payment this company now owes me, lets see how long it will take to receive my refund. Follow up....they stated I wasnt owed a refund however on 12/06/2016 a deposit ( out of pocket expenses I paid ) was posted to my banking account. Because I have three dental insurance plans and only received a cleaning which each plan covers 100% twice a year there never is any out of pocket expenses. Again, the dentist was wonderful unfortunately the front office staff are not therefore I have a wonderful new dentist.

For the TLDR crowd....... Reasonably priced dental work done by a office of professionals looking to help you out when youre in a jam. Ill be back. Great job to everyone at Emergency Dental Care in Tacoma. I hate going to the dentist and as such, the only time I ever see one is when the pain becomes unbearable. A quick search here on Google turned up these guys and despite some questionable reviews on some other sites, I gave them a call. I called at 11:45 am and got an appointment at 2:30 pm. Once there, it was all business. I appreciate that. Just enough politeness for a business that has to deal with the public but not the overwhelming fake crap you get pretty much anywhere else. The fees were very reasonable and even better with cash. Had I known that simple dental work wasnt so expensive, I would have taken care of it years ago. What a relief for those of us without Dental Insurance. Dr. Yoon and Kevin were quick at numbing me up and expertly got my situation taken care of. Corina was awesome up front at reception and even gave me a call after I left to remind me that we didnt set a follow-up appointment for some other work. Dont believe the crybabies on some of the other sites. Get your *hit sorted out here. Im glad I did.

WOW a dentist open weekends to meet MY schedule? Un-possible! AND theyre honest too? I was scheduled for a root canal, but once in the chair and examined further, it was determined I didnt need it at that time. That allowed me to take care of several other smaller issues instead, and still saved me money. Now I realize no two mouths are alike and YMMV, but they could have easily just done the procedure and grabbed my money, but they didnt. From Corina at the front, to Anna, Dr. Porter and one more gentleman who assisted on my first visit (whos name sadly escapes me), I received 1st rate service. Now look, yes they are a fee for service establishment, and require payment up front. I get that, understand it and am cool with it. Them getting paid ensures they will still be there when we need them. Is it a bit rough around the edges? A little bit, and Im cool with that too.In no way did that detract from the level of excellent service. Ive done the "boutique" dentists in the past, and you pay a premium for those places to talk "at" you and treat you like a number. But if you want/need good service and quality (and affordable) dental work from good, honest, friendly and caring people, this IS your place.

I just want to express my sincere thanks to Emergency Dental Care for the willingness to be open and available on both Saturdays and Sundays. Last weekend, 01/16/15 I was eating a granola bar, it cracked my # 5, Saturday it was uncomfortable but by Sunday morning I was in severe pain with an infected abscess between my mouth and right eye. I began scouring the internet for a place to find relief and there was only one local hope. I called and left a message, and waited for a return call, I waited about 3 hours, but the call came, they said they could see me, head on in. I drove to the Tacoma Mall, found their office and was feeling better within 2 hours. Now after a week has passed, the infection has subsided, I feel no pain whatsoever and the antibiotic also cleared my vision of a problem obviously related to an infection I had been dealing with for at least a year. Very Thankful for this team, Dr. Porter was courteous and professional, I will see him again tomorrow. There was no other option last weekend, I will use this option for dental from this point onward!

I cracked a tooth about a month or two ago and didnt think anything of it. On Saturday, I experienced the worst tooth pain Ive ever had. I contacted Emergency Dental Care and Corrina and the rest of the staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful. They told me what I needed and couldnt have been more sweet. Upon getting to the office, the staff was incredibly attentive and made sure I was comfortable since I hadnt been to the dentist in a while. Dr. Lin laid out my options, let me decide the route to take and could not have been a more pleasant dentist appointment, even considering I walked out with one less tooth. After the tooth (and the pain) disappeared, the staff even provided a pen and paper since I had questions and couldnt talk because of the numbness. I could not recommend this clinic, doctor, and staff enough. If you are having any sort of dental issues, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didnt consider Dr. Lin and Emergency Dental Care.

We dont have a "family dentist" so to speak, we choose to go to Emergency Dental Care for needed fillings and regular cleaning/check-ups too. I LOVE the flexible hours, I dont have to take off work to get my teeth checked. Cant say enough about how well Dr. Porter does, Ive been to some really good/proficient dentists in the past, he beats them in detail attention, accuracy to what you want, efficiency in time, and hes a really easy going, easy to talk to guy. I have been VERY pleased with the fillings I have had done there, my bite was perfect, no bumps. The rest of the staff was good, and even the prices and payment options are WAY better than what my friends pay for basic work done at other dental offices. PERK: They let you know everything that needs to be done, and the PRICE to do it BEFORE they start, so you know exactly what your paying for! Definitely reccomned.
