Several months ago, we arranged for Home Instead to be "on call" for anticipated times when my dad might need extra supervision and assistance. Although we could not provide specific dates or times that we needed their help, we were told that was no problem. We met with Joshua, filled out paperwork and got everything set up. We were told to just call when we needed them and they would be ready to help. We recently needed their services, so I called Joshua and he put everything into action immediately. In less than a day, we had 24/7 caregivers scheduled so someone would be there when my dad was released from the hospital. Since we needed 24/7 care, we had different caregivers. Every one of them is top notch (Megan, Cici, Jordan, Victoria, Peter, Julie, Betty, Tyler & Kathy). The first caregiver arrived with a binder of information on my dad provided during the first meeting and log sheets that each caregiver completes during his/her shift. She spent time asking questions about my dad to get to know him, his likes and dislikes, etc. When a new caregiver arrives, the current caregiver provides a verbal update on how my dad is doing and what is going on during that shift. So there is a verbal report to the next caregiver on each shift change. They also try to schedule the same caregiver on regular shifts for consistency. Every caregiver is prompt, professional and truly cares about my dads well being. Their office professionals are very courteous and you can reach a real person 24/7. I have always talked to a human being, not an answering machine or voice mail. I highly recommend Home Instead. If you want peace of mind, these are the people to call. It is also comforting to know that they can step in on very short notice.

I cannot say enough about what their staff has done for us. My father had a stroke in Feb 2013. There has been a tremendous amount of stress - both emotionally and physically on him as well as the family. Home Instead and their staff (Especially Rosemary, Doris, Erin and Tim) have been such a source of support! Rosemary has dealt with a lot of schedule changes because of appointments and such and has always been absolutely wonderful about dealing with them. Always very patient and very supportive. Always there to lend me a ear when I was stressed out and needed an outlet. Every single person I have talked with in their office has been so very courteous and ready to help. Once when the family went away for a weekend and my Dad was alone at home, they went out of their way to help us out and provide several hours of help with just being with him as companion and with other necessities. I specially remember when I was worried whether or not he will be covered for that time, Rosemary said "I will go myself to help him if no one else was available; so dont worry." It meant so much to me. Unfortunately their contract with the county ended this past year and we can no longer use their services. But perhaps sometime in future... or when we need extra help, we can work together again. It has been a privilege knowing these people. They made this journey just a little bit easier for us and we are forever greatful!

We have used Home Insteads services for many years for my parents. When my dad was alive, he had dementia, and the companion care that my parents received from Home Instead was invaluable. It gave my mom some breathing room and my dad had a friend to sit with. After he died we used the companion care to help my mom with errands and tasks around her apartment. Later on when she moved to assisted living the companions provided help for her during the transition to a new place. We have been so grateful for the kind, generous and caring companions who have helped my parents during various times in their lives.

I used Home Instead off and on for about seven years. Most recently, I used them for my mother Willa, who very much enjoyed all the caregivers that came to visit and help with her, until she passed away at 95 on December 12th, 2014. I felt I also got to know these women, and became friends with them. I would definitely use Home Instead again.

Home Instead did a great job with my father who was coming home from medical issues. They were very responsive to our families requests as well as my fathers. The providers were very nice and did a great job. I would highly recommend their services for any family matters.
