Im a daughter of a person that has had terrible service from Brightstar. The caregivers dont do anything. They sleep, play on their phone and ignore my dad. His wallet was stollen and Jeff, the owner, blamed me. I was not even living near my dad at the time. When these caregivers dont come in for their shift, my dad waits over 36 hours for someone to come and help him out of bed. Jeff is so quick to blame the client instead of his employees when something bad happens. We have had two amazing caregivers but both were fired because they went above and beyond to help my dad. Those things were against the policy (changing a light bulb, ect). Jeff, however, does keep the caregivers that come into our home, plop down on a sofa and change the channel on the TV that I was watching. Why is that? Ive never gotten a clear answer. In fact, whenever my dad has a question about something that happens, Jeff is very quick to say that he does not need to answer any questions. Shady? I have gotten to know both caregivers that helped my dad and people I am friends with that have worked for the company and neither of them have had nice things to say. Probably why the turnover rate is so aweful. Literally, the worst caregiving company I have ever dealt with.

I work as a private care giver in madison and my client has Britestar as pm coverage every day. They are absolutely the worst agency Ive ever dealt with in the 20 years I have worked in home care. The current pm staff has gotten away with leaving the client in bed until she developed large bed sores. They put plastic silver wear down the garbage disposal. They take the trash out of the clients apartment and put it in the community laundry room so they dont have to take the trash outside. They lie on the clients log books and dont feed her the meals they record. They leave their personal garbage lying on the floor of the clients home. They have broken the clients blinds, ripped a hole in her air mattress, and they always leave the house trashed after their shifts. They record that they give her one glass of water during a six hour shift. I have repeatedly complained and asked for them to be replaced but I am ignored by Britestar management. Their staff receive little to no actual training, most of them cant cook simple meals and can NOT work unsupervised. Beware if you are putting your loved ones care in their hands, because they will not be getting quality care.

July 21, 2017 From the family of Thomas "Tom" J. Doyle. We would like to thank BrightStar for the Personal Care provided by the CNAs to Tom these past 4+ months . Their services were invaluable. The CNAs that were sent to us were always on time, friendly and upbeat. We had the pleasure of having Jenea care for Tom for the longest period of any of the CNAs. The care she provided was respectful and compassionate. He truly enjoyed Jeneas company. She was a perfect fit for us. We also appreciate the flexibility from the office staff and schedulers. It was very important to be able to make changes to our schedule with BrightStar as our needs changed. BrightStar made all the difference in being able to care for our loved one at home. Most Sincerely, The family of Thomas "Tom" J. Doyle

A year ago my husband needed personal care assistance while he recovered from an illness, and Brightstar matched us with a great caregiver who was able to come in when I wasnt available. He recently needed personal care assistance due to an injury, and while our original caregiver was no longer working for Brightstar, they matched us with another person who is also a good fit. They have been very flexible in providing care during my fluctuating work schedule, and Ive found everyone to be friendly and helpful.

If I could give negative stars I would -- if you dont give exactly 24 hour notice of not needing someone they will charge you anyway and will they tell you when you call to cancel - NO. Yet, if they cant find someone even if you have an appointment - they can call and cancel within the hour - and the excuse well people get sick -- seems that they should give you the same courtesy that you must give them. Also some of their caregivers are questionable.

BrightStar has been the in home care service company for my grandma for the past 2 years. The CNAs are professional and caring. Our family is truly blessed to have BrightStar provide the care we cannot.
