I received a call today to take a survey on my last stay at Howard Young Medical Center. At first I couldnt hear the person due to a lot of back ground talking. Sounded like several people using the same phone line at the same time. I told the person about the back ground noise. She ask if she could call back, I agreed. A few minutes latter she called back. The back ground talking had improved some but still was very annoying. I told the person I would try to complete the survey anyway. It was difficult but we were able to complete the survey. Im sending this because I received excellent care for my surgery and after care from all the staff. Its too bad who every performs your surveys is of such poor quality. It leaves a bad felling knowing I received excellent care and then was followed up this very poor call for my opinion. Question. Why cant you send a survey by mail as Marshfield Clinic does?

Wow. Just wow. In the area from Mpls on vaca with a close family member having suffered what was ultimately determined to be a level 2 trauma after emergency transfer to the ER in another facility--all I can say is--please make sure your insurance policy with the good Lord above eliminates the exposure to ever need to suffer the risk of enduring the general caliber of "professional" we were, at least, exposed to in this facility. Word to the wise.

Went in for a cough in Jan cause I couldnt stop coughing. Told me I was fine went home. Went in 2nd time they say I have a build up of mucus I said can you give me anything they said no stick with over the counter stuff. 3erd time they said I have mucus problem but they cant give me anything to help. So now its August still coughing none stop throwing up mucus everyday and still owe them like $700 for nothing.

Appointment with Amy Gavin NP recently. Excellent listener, treated myself and my wife as partners in health care. We could not advance on her recommendations due to conflicts with VA requirements. A definite asset to Howard Young. ER check in desk, ER staff we encountered were all professional, patient, and attentive. Kudos. Ms. Gavins ancillary staff were also courteous, and attentive. Kudos.

This is a family friendly hospital. I hooked my best friend in the ear with a rusty hook while fishing, and they removed his hook while being friendly about it, and he was the 26th person this year to get a hook removed from there. They gave him a bobber and sent the kid on his way. Great northwoods hospital.

The emergency room is great! Very considerate. Lovely. OB/GYN when I had both of my babies they were extremely rude
