The staff at the check in and out are rude. My son had an MRI done because he has a curve in his back. I asked to have MRI results and was told that Doctor Eromo does not give results over the phone. That he is going on vacation I had to wait till he came back. My sons primary doctor had concerns about my sons neck results on his MRI. I had to get nasty to get an appointment for the next day. My son told the nurse that his neck hurt and I quote" we are not discussing your neck at this time,we handle one problem at a time. we are here for your MRI results. I only want to know about the pain in your mid back". Gets better doctor Eromo was not even their, his assistant spoke with us. I quote " we took MRI of mid back thats just a small curve. when asked about the neck " He said I did not look at that we only ordered it for the mid back". After expressing my concerns several times he finale showed us my sons neck. Its straight and is missing the natural curve. I quote " its not that bad ,its not a life or death thing that u need to come right in for. when he asked if we had another appointment I said no. He tells us to just finish PT and if you have any other concerns or problems come back. No, follow up appointment for after the PT to check and see if things are better. I would not recommend them to anyone as of now and looking for new spine doctor for my son

My grand-daughter had a head injury and could not stay awake. The triage nurse told me: "It will be about 4 hours until we can see her" Everyone was sitting around talking and not one person paid attention, so we ended up going to Albany Med where she was seen immediately and a CAT Scan was done to make sure she was ok. Thankfully we DID NOT stay. I too would never go there for an emergency or anything else unless they clean up their act and start acting like a caring medical center that takes children and seriously injured people first. This was my first experience and second my daughter had GB surgery and a staple opened up after they sent her home to two young children. If I did not go and check on her she would be DEAD. The paramedics took her back to the hospital and they had no clue what was going on, They told me it was because she did not move her bowels, surprise, surprise when they took some imaging and discovered the staple opened up. The physician was so nonchalant and could care less. Hay what ever happened to compassion amongst people. I guess they never heard of this concept. Too bad since I live locally and have to go all the way to Albany for healthcare or do we say sickcare.

How this place stays open is a mystery to me; every level of contact I had with staff didnt even meet a substandard level, from the ER to the staff I was doomed to have on the floor. Every second of my six day stay was misery, from dirty rooms, rude and condescending staff, and a medical team that seemed clueless. Call bells may or may not be answered, but if they are it will be anywhere from 9-40 minutes, and they show up with attitude. Pain management is pitiful. My surgery was a disaster that ended up abscessed and I had to go to Albany Med to have it done the right way. When I got home I looked up the surgeons bio and see she went to college in Mexico, Jamaica, NY and Elmhurst, NY. In no way was she qualified to do my surgery. The surgery required to fix the abscess has to be left open, so we do packing changes every day until it closes up, hopefully in the next two weeks. A major inconvenience since if this had been done right the first time Id probably be back to work by now. For the love of all thats holy, avoid this train wreck like the plague.

My sister was admitted here to give birth. After her being only 3cm dilated they said they would probably send her home, but wanted to keep her a little longer. In the mean time, they sent our mother and father home saying she wouldnt be giving birth. She then ended up dilating completely, although no one checked on her to know this, and because of this, ended up giving birth alone with only doctors there. One of the day nurses was not nice at all. We asked for socks for the baby and she stated that they dont give those out and we should have known to bring our own. They moved her into a tiny room with no windows to open, so it was 77-80 degrees in there the entire time. They only allowed one person wearing a wrist band in with her and when asked if it could be switched between father and mother, they stated it wasnt allowed, one person and only that person can be the person who stays with her the entire time.

The care I received at The Spine Institute was much better than I received previously at the "Big Name, Big City" hospital I went to for my first surgery. Dr.s Eromo and Kaffaludi both listened carefully to my main complaints. After thoroughly testing to see what did and did not work for me, they designed a plan with realistic objectives, to improve my quality of life. Theres still more to do, but their entire staff and everyone on the 6th floor did a fantastic job! I couldnt ask for more compassionate care and for professionals that listen to what their patient is saying rather than letting their ego, or whatever, dictate what they feel Im supposed to be capable of doing. I will continue to use them and recommend them highly over any Big City experience. By the way, when was the last time you got a private room with a private bath for your entire stay in a Big City?

My husband was brought to Columbia Memorial Emergency room after motor cycle accident. After tests and x-rays, they sent him to Albany Medical Center with a brain bleed, specifically saying that there was no evidence of any fractures. Albany Med found NO brain bleed, but did find EIGHT BROKEN BONES!, 2 shoulder, and 6 ribs. UNBELIEVABLE!! Will not go there again. Have heard many horror stories like this over the years, yet CMH always manages to find a way to cover it up. The ER doctor needs to go back to med school to learn to read x-rays, and that hospital needs to be more particular about whom they hire, or bring in some sort of quality control.

my experience with two specialists, a primary, and and 3 OBs (of which only NPs are available and a different one every time if I wanted to see someone in 1 month instead of 2) were awful. The OB didnt know what PMDD is which is a common hormone imbalance related to my period, the GI Doctor (Packard) rubbed me down in a questionable way, everyone else seems unqualified or over stressed. the ER.. Released me 4 hours after I was suicidal and had needed 8 stiches on my wrist. Im better now: advice Benedictine in Kingston is better but not brilliant.
