Cayuga Pet Hospital and Dr. Bonnie are, by far, the best vet hospital and vet in the Ithaca area! Our boy is a super-fearful rescue and as such needs special care. When I called to make the appointment, the person who answered the phone was very knowledgeable about the things they can do to help serve fearful dogs. I was apprehensive but still fearful. From the moment we walked into the hospital, the staff did everything they could to make our experience the best as possible. Dr. Bonnie walked into the exam room carrying peanut butter, cream cheese, and butter and did everything right when it comes to a fearful dog. And, after spending a few minutes in the room with us talking to me, she reached out and petted our boy, scratched his ears, and examined him. NO ONE but the five humans in our family have done anything beyond barley touching him, much less petted, him in such a very long time. She administered his shots, and he didnt even flinch. The last time he had an annual exam and shots, he reacted so strongly he had to be physically restrained and still tried biting the vet (even though he couldnt have b/c we had a muzzle on him). He didnt growl or act aggressively in any way the entire time we were there, and while he was exhibiting signs of fear, he wasnt out of control with fear. If you have a fearful dog, this is the place to come and Dr. Bonnie is the vet to see. I am beyond thrilled with our experience!!

Cayuga Pet Hospital has an exceptional staff. Dr. Tornusciolo is a consummate professional, and despite my dog generally being very tense and defensive around strangers, he is completely comfortable and even affectionate with her. She has a confident demeanor and calming energy that keeps my dog relaxed even when undergoing unpleasant procedures. Even more importantly, she is incredibly knowledgeable, and keeps me informed throughout the process. She provides the most comprehensive care while keeping the total cost in consideration. Veterinary care is always somewhat expensive, but Ive never left feeling blind-sided by the bill, or pressured into costly tests/treatments that I wasnt sure were necessary. The office has even squeezed an appointment in for me on the same day when I was in a bind and Dr. Tornusciolo graciously worked through her lunch break when the case became a little more time-consuming than we expected. I recently moved to NYC but after trying another vet and witnessing the difference in the level of care my dog gets there (and the number of fees tacked on for services they only half provide), I bring him back to Ithaca with me to visit Cayuga Pet Hospital.

We just moved here this time last year. I have three rabbits, and a tortoise, a dog and chickens. The rabbits and tortoise have been going to cornell. At that time, cornell charged $60 for an exotic exam. I took two of my three rabbits to cornell this year for another annual and to get their teeth checked. They upped their price and I paid $90 per rabbit exam!! Almost $200 later, I hopped on Google to look for another exotic vet...surely there had to be someone else. I came across Cayuga Pet Hospital. They had the best reviews, so I called them up and made an appointment. Scarlett (my third rabbit) had her visit today. Dr. Dawn was great! She got on the floor with my rabbit and performed the exam and looked at her teeth. She was very knowledgeable, thorough, informative and super nice. Everyone at the desk was welcoming and the rest of the vet staff were friendly and smiled as well. I was in and out of there instead of waiting for two hours like I wouldve at cornell and they only charged me $60! I will take all my animals here from now on. I highly recommend cayuga pet hospital!!!

So far so good. I have a high maintenance dog that has sensitivities to a number of medications and foods. Dr. Dawn is really amazing so far. She is incredibly thorough and pays attention to the details. My dog has also had dental surgery with Dr. Dawn and he did great, no problems. I did go to another vet when we moved into town and I was not satisfied with them. Cayuga Pet Hospital is much better. Their prices are reasonable, they dont try and sell you things you dont want, only problem I can see is that scheduling an appointment needs to be a few weeks in advance, but thats what happens when you provide a great service. I feel like the level of care my boy has gotten here is the best he has received in a long time! Thank you Dr. Dawn and everyone at CPH!

Ive been going to this vet for about a year now, and have nothing but praise for them. The staff are friendly and personable and the doctors seem very knowledgeable and competent. They havent tried to push any expensive services for my cats, just the basic exams and vaccinations. Further, the one time one of kittens had a medical issue crop up (infected eye), I was able to talk to a doctor right away, outside of business hours, and set up an appointment for the next day without any trouble. Finally, theyre a small practice, and when I was going there about once a month, when my kittens were getting their initial series of vaccinations, the staff and doctors remembered both me and my pets, which was a very nice feeling.

This is a terrific veterinary practice. The vets and staff are extremely knowledgeable and very friendly and helpful. I have had two cats in recent years with major medical issues, and Dr Dawn has been there for us every step of the way. She stays up to date on the newest medical procedures and knows how to obtain the most recent information on rare conditions. My cats have been patients at Cayuga Pet Hospital since Dr. Bonnie bought the practice many years ago. With the friendly, caring atmosphere and excellent medical care here, I wouldnt consider taking my cats anywhere else for the regular medical care.

I brought my dog here after my vet could not diagnose a problem he was having. Dr. Bonnie got right down on the floor with him, put him at ease, and quickly diagnosed him. She referred me to Cornell for the surgery. They confirmed her diagnosis. I bring him to Dr. Bonnie for all his well visits now & they recently neutered my new kitten. The staff is pleasant & knowledgeable. They get you in for appointments quickly & at convenient times. I recommend this vet group strongly.

This is the best vet in Tompkins County, in my opinion. Its wonderful to always get the same vet, not a student and not a vet who is on rotation. My vet knows my dog, thinks about managing her stress level during visits, and invites me in to participate in visits and suggested treatments. The folks at the front desk are warm and welcoming, and its just a terrific place where they really care about animals and the service is outstanding every time!

Great people from start to finish. Homey feel. They really love animals here which is a welcoming thing. Dr. Bonnie and Dr. Dawn are excellent. When my pup needed some painful shots Dr. Bonnie was down on the floor with him petting him and snuggling him and giving him treats. I felt like she really cared which is more than I can say for some other vet offices in the area. I dont even live in the area anymore and still will only take my dog here.
