Do not bring your pet here unless you want neglectful and rude treatment! I brought my newly adopted cat to AHOR this past Saturday for his first checkup and was told by Dr. Huggler that he was completely healthy, in spite of my concerns that he was having soft stools. She performed a very quick exam and didnt thoroughly check his rectal area, oral cavity, or abdomen. However, 1-2 hours later I noticed worm segments in his rectal area and was shocked! By then, the office was closed until Monday and so I sought treatment at a different clinic where they performed a much more complete exam and were able to treat him for his tapeworm infection, as well as point out other concerns such as his inflamed gums/gingivitis. (Thank you Banfield in Webster!) I later contacted AHOR, and the practice manager Julie was extremely offensive. She told me that since I used a voucher from the adoption shelter for the exam, I was only entitled to receiving a "basic exam," and that I would not be refunded for any additional services I had paid for (which included a nail trimming that wasnt even finished because they were unable to trim his back paws). I explained that Dr. Huggler didnt even mention the possibility that the soft stools could be related to an infection which is why I was shocked to find worms once I got home. This failure to recognize symptoms and provide possible diagnoses to a patient was what truly upset me. Julie then went on to insult me, telling me that I didnt go to "medical school" and that my cats infection was a "non-emergency" that couldve waited until Monday (as if I was going to trust them with treating my cat!). These belittling and rude remarks were uncalled for and she never once apologized or expressed any concern about the health of my pet. Overall the entire experience was extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. The only staff member that I can speak positively of is Shelby at the front desk, who apologized for what happened. Never again. Be warned and take your loved animal somewhere else!

Very unhappy with my visit. Took about an hour and fifteen minutes after my scheduled appointment to see the vet. When I did I explained to her my visit was for my dogs dry skin. She then told me that he did not have dry skin even though his groomer and others told me he does. The vet was also clearly afraid of my dog ( hes a large St Bernard but a pushover). She handled him very timidley and also asked me to stand in the corner as she examined him...thus he parked at her. she then jumped hysterically and screamed for a mussel. Not at all professional. will not be going back.

I must say I am shocked at the negative reviews Animal Hospital of Rochester has received. Dr. Buck and her staff have been nothing short of AWESOME with both our cat Crosby and our dog Nash. Dr. Buck saved Crosby when it was discovered he had a blockage in his urethra. He had to stay at the Hospital for 3 days and they allowed me to come in after work every day he was there to hang out with him in the back for an hour until they closed. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Buck and her staff. I can tell they TRULY love every animal that comes through the door!

You have no business doing dentals on cats. 3 cats have suffered greatly because of your shoddy care and lack of X-ray equipment. Failure to notice severe gum disease, and extra tooth causing major problems and Severe decay is a unnaceotable. NEVER AGAIN will you touch one of my babies. You have nearly killed Star, and cost Ralphie and Sushi more extensive surgeries at a QUALIFIED VET. You will be hearing from my attorney and the vet board

Dr. Buck and her staff are incredible. When our dog got ill and had to be put down, Dr. Buck called me and spent half an hour on the phone with me, following up and comforting me. A huge weight was lifted off my shoulders when she reassured me that we did the right thing. It may have been an inconsequential call for her but it meant the world to us. Thank you, Animal Hospital of Rochester, Dr. Buck and all of her staff.

Hot Fudge

They performed an extremely invasive, unnecessary surgery on my dog. They still charged me $1700 for the surgery even though there was nothing stuck in his intestines like they had though, and it was just enflamed and needed antibiotics. This was in 2015. They also have no records of anything they have worked on with my dog, or vaccinations that he has recieved because of their system crash. Completely unacceptable.

Dr. Buck has been seeing my dog for 8 years since he was a puppy and always received great excellent care for my dog Lattimore. Pleasant staff and professional one doesnt wait long, and Dr. Buck knows how to interact with every pet she sees. The facility is modern and clean and treats available at the front counter. Animal Hospital of Rochester is listed as one of the top 10 animal hospital in Rochester.

The most friendly and honest staff I have worked with in relation to my animals. They have seen us through sickness, regular check ups, and spaying/micro chipping. I never feel like Im being ripped off, and the prices are quite reasonable. I trust this staff with my cats in any situation.

Not the cheapest vet, but they do take the time to diagnose difficult cases. They diagnosed my foster kitten Anna after visiting two other vets who provided temporary improvements but her problem returned after a week. Great vets and office personell.
