Be aware of this office! Make sure you ask if they are IN NET-WORK with your provider instead of asking do they "accept" your insurance because they will tell you they accept your insurance, and then charge ridiculous fees. I even asked the senile receptionist (I believe her name was Fran) before I went in and sat down in their exam chair , if I would have any out of pocket costs, and she said to me " I will not know until I submit the claim." That for me shouldve been the red flag. Anyway lesson learned, will not be returning. Out of $300 for a routine exam and cleaning, over a technicality of words. Not pleased with this office. Highly Disappointed! *About the dental work* Doctor Sterling and his wife (the orthodontist) were friendly, but Id be too if my office wasnt straight forward with clients. Dr. Sterling immediately began trying to get me in the office for this visit and that visit, he got me to come back once, but that was before I received the bill. Anyway the cleaning and x-rays were decent, and the dog they let sit on your lap during these procedures is nice (thats if you like dogs, its actually a little unprofessional now that I think about it). So if youre in network go for it, if you dont mind paying out of pocket go for it, but if you dont want to be taken advantage of steer clear!

Was looking for a dentist. Puzzled by so many great reviews and 1 bad one. I also spoke with Fran. She told me that my insurance would be accepted as payment towards my total fee. Id be responsible for whatever the insurance company didnt cover. Thought that was pretty clear. Didnt expect not to pay anything! When I saw Dr. Sterling, he explained what I needed and why. I saw the little dog in the office. Very cute. The doctor asked me if I wanted him on my lap during treatment. I tried it, and found it very relaxing (and distracting) compared to my other dental visits. Dr. Sterling was very professional. Gave me the BEST cleaning Ive ever had! Fran told me that she would predetermine my treatment with my insurance company so that Id know exactly what my cost would be. I had a great experience. Everyone was straight forward and honest. Ive definitely found my new dentist. Glad that I listened to the better reviews not the sour one.

Doctor Louis Sterling is hands down the best dentist I have ever met in my life. He goes out of his way to make his patients feel extremely comfortable and safe. His prices are very affordable. But best of all, the quality of service and care that Dr. Sterling provides is not just great, its above and beyond. He goes the extra mile for his patients to make them comfortable and fix the problem. Dr. Sterling is one of those people who have a natural ability to make you feel at home and cared for. Hes one of the nicest people Ive ever met and so is his staff. I love his pet therapy technique, Its so unique and it really does work to calm anxiety. I strongly recommend Dr. Sterling for anyone out there looking for an upstanding dentist who provides great quality work and care. Look no further, Dr. Sterling is your guy. Trust me when I say, Ive never met anyone like him and Ive never been this comfortable stepping into a dentists office.

I met Dr. Sterling when I became both his patient and assistant almost two years ago. Dr. Sterling is kind and compassionate and patient care is his top priority. In the time Ive worked with him Ive witnessed everything from routine dentistry to complete dental makeovers. Dr. Sterling never recommends or does unnecessary procedures; he isnt looking to drill, fill, & bill insurance companies. His work is outstanding. Sometimes he will ask me if I can pick out a tooth that has a filling or a crown and I cant because his work looks so natural. He truly loves what he does and it shows in the quality of work he provides. Personally, Ive always been somewhat of a nervous patient but I completely trust his judgement and I can honestly say that as long as he is in practice I will never go to another dentist.

Finding a dentist that you can trust and have confidence in is not an easy task. After going to many mediocre dentists in my life I consider myself blessed to have met Dr. Louis Sterling. Dr. Sterling came highly recommended by a pediatric dentist who said, "If youre looking for the best go to Dr. Louis Sterling. He is not only the best - but he is an honest and caring dentist." I would travel across the bridge to Brooklyn for my visits with him; of course, my visits were planned for a day that Shaney, Dr. Sterlings wonderful therapy dog was on duty. There is always soothing music playing and an ample supply of waiting room magazines available in his impeccably clean office. Im so happy hes here on Staten Island now. I can honestly say he is my "FOREVER DENTIST"!

I had to call around for quotes on out of pocket braces just now. I LITERALLY spoke to about 20 or so offices prior to calling Dr. Sterlings office. Not only did he PERSONALLY get on the phone to speak with me, but he had to be THE nicest person Ive spoken with in general in a LONG time. We had a 10 minute conversation about options and even discussed animal rescue, since it came up and we are both die hard animal lovers. As far as Im concerned, Dr. Sterling is the only Dentist on Staten Island that Ill ever see!!!

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Sterling for about twenty years and now My children go to him. He is a gentle and compassionate dentist who is great at what he does and he has the nicest most helpful staff. His office Is brand new with state of the art equipment. I highly recommend him.
