We had an absolutely horrible experience. We got there 30 minutes early to fill out new patient paper work (our previous pediatrician retired). We were taken to a room, waited over 30 minutes for the Dr. after the triage, Dr came in, was extremely nice, she left, we then waited another 45 minutes for vaccines. Nurse came in, I told her I would be leaving the room while my son got his vaccines, she rolled her eyes at me and my husband said she was very rude and had zero bedside manner after I left the room. In total we were there for 2 hours for an appt that should have taken no more than 45 minutes from start to finish, that compounded with the eye rolling nurse was all it took for me to emphatically say, we will never go back. Absolute terrible experience.

Im so disappointed. I was looking for a new pediatrician since mine had left her office. I had heard good things about Southlake but, when I tried to make an appointment for my daughters 15 month appointment a couple of weeks in advance they told me the nurse would call back to "approve." I waited and didnt hear anything in a week. I called back and asked why I never received a call and the receptionist said that it was something they only do in their spare time if they get a chance. It wasnt a high priority for them. If a new patient doesnt matter, then I really dont want an office that doesnt care. I really wanted my daughter to be seen there.

Dr. Byars is the best, most caring doctor my children have ever had. I will never switch now. She spends time with the kids and truly cares. She sincerely gives her all with the most cheerful attitude. Warm and sensitive to them, she has even given up lunch hour to see us twice in the 6 years we have had her. She checks everything and does not beat around the bush. After another 5 years, I can truly say this practice is one of the best best pediatric practices in Birmingham.

I have been to doctors in Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, etc. Dr.Byars is truly the best. My son was afraid of doctors and she made it great for him. She doesnt take allday. Its not along waiting list to get on her patient list. If your child is sick then you can call and they will see you in about an hour or two. She is truly a life saver and apart of our family.

Wonderful facility and even better doctors and nurses. They do not make you feel like a number and they act like they love taking care of kids. Dr. Byars is wonderful. Hate to leave a good review b/c i dont want to start waiting when everyone moves here but they deserve it.

My 13 month old daughter has been going here since she was born. Dr. McCown is the most wonderful doctor, and the staff is always so friendly and helpful! I cant imagine ever going anywhere else!

My first son is only 5 months old and we couldnt have a better pedi. We are first time parents that dont always know the right questions...He answers questions we didnt even ask. Very helpful.
