Disclaimer...only giving 1 star because I have to. Took my mastiff in on Thursday late night. She had been vomiting a lot, tons. Went into exam room & the vet tech decided it would be best to take her away from me to exam. Ok...5 minutes later vet comes in says that tech will be back in with treatment plan. Tech comes in and they want to "admit" her since she needs some fluids. No other tests done at this point. I refuse the admittance, to the tune of $2400-$2800, and was treated like crap the rest of the time. They ran a bunch of blood test & did one X-ray, which showed a mass in her stomach. Vet said mass was most likely food...really?? Because my dog has been vomiting uncontrollably since 4:30 pm & hasnt eaten anything. Vet tells me they will have a radiology specialist look at it too, cha ching! Gave her some anti-nausea meds & fluids, then sent us on our way to the tune of $840! They also tried selling me nose butter & canned food! I called Saturday afternoon to see what the specialist saw on X-ray, they hadnt gotten to it yet. Ok... My dog still not eating or pooping on Sunday night, my husband calls & they will need to call back. They called at 12:30 am...we missed the call. Monday morning took our dog to our vet, Desert Hills Animal Clinic, and they immediately took her and kept her (no charge) to observe, run tests, and perform an ultra-sound (Animal Health Services sent them x-ray as a PDF, instead of whatever file type an x-ray comes in). Low and behold the "food" was still in my dogs intestines...It was not food, but a blockage! Long story, dog had surgery, body was toxic, and her intestine was severely damaged. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE. OUTRAGEOUS PRICES AND INFERIOR SERVICE! I contacted AHS and asked for part of my money back and they told me they would contact their insurance company to have them review to see if there was any malpractice...I just laughed!

On Sunday morning, August 31st, at 7:00 AM our little Yorkie had an encounter with a rattler in our backyard and was struck on her head. We live in Desert Hills so we rushed her to Animal Health Services. Its quite a drive but closest to us for emergency weekend animal care. We rang the emergency bell, no answer, rang it again, no answer (this business advertises 24 hour care). A gentleman sitting in their waiting area came and unlocked the door for us. We sat down, worrying about how much time was passing and how it might make the difference whether our little dog would live or die. About 5 minutes later, a young lady came out and told us very apologetically that they were not going to be able to treat our dog--the gentlemans pet was the last the doctor would see before leaving. We begged her to please ask the doctor to reconsider--it was a rattlesnake bite and again she apologized and offered to give us an address for a Scottsdale facility. No explanation...nothing. So much for 24 hour service!!! So much for caring for animals. We took our little Bella to VETMED and she was treated lovingly and successfully by the staff there thank heavens. Shame on the Animal Health Services for falsely advertising 24 hour emergency service and then turning away a pet with need for immediate emergency treatment. I would NEVER recommend this center to anyone who is looking for compassionate, caring emergency treatment for their beloved sick or injured pets. I cannot even imagine what excuse the owner would offer for such an inhumane response.

Dr. CB, Dr. DD and business manager are the geniuses to chalk up, tear, hole, crack, or dent, that Dr. CB made with catheter, was the complication of the urinary stone. My cat was hospitalized here to have urinary stone surgery. 1. Dr. CB failed catheter and made a tear (hole) in the abdomen while doing her job and caused extended stay in this hospital. Tear in the abdomen was used by D. CB on the phone to me. 2. Dr. DD replaced Dr. CBs failure with complication and helped destroying the evidence (x-Ray Images) which would reveal Dr. CBs responsibility, though Dr. DD admitted in her e-mail that Dr. CB failed. 3. Business Manager JRG determined to pass the buck to the patient and to collect extended stay from the patient. Question: Why this hospital concealed or destroyed the X-Ray images in question? X-Ray image that drove Dr. CB panic. If the assertion complication made by the hospital is right they could disclose the X-Ray images. Its a shame to see someones lack of integrity. They tried to charge extra amount of over $100 to take blood sample of my cat under the cloak of cats aggressiveness when I took him again to the hospital to have his blood tested for kidney disorder.

My Cat was treated here 3 years ago for climbing up a cactus, he was treated very well and I felt at home here. I decided to take in what now has become my second child a 2 year old pit bull- dalmatian and she has a love for the outdoors, I took her to Animal Health about four months ago for a UTI that has reoccured every month and multiple visits which nothing was done besides prescribe antibiotics which never seemed to work. During her UTIs I also noticed a limp in her step and favoring one leg over the other, I took her in again and spent a large amount of money to find out that my dog was MISDIAGNOSED with Arthritis. Unfortunately she was not getting any better and I took her into another doctor that treated her with so much love and care. I found out that she not only had a serve kidney infection due to untreated UTI and wrong antibiotics, to then get blood work back that my dog has had Valley Fever untreated for almost three months. I will never go back here for regular care of my animals. I am truly upset that with the money I spent they should have treated in a different manner to find out what really was going on with her.

When one of my doggies decided he wanted to eat a toad in the middle of the night, I didnt know what to do as he was struggling to breath. I found Animal Health Services online and as soon as we walked in the door, they had a team ready to save him. They followed up with the same service on my other puppy who decided to go a round or two with a coyote or two. Watching them work on my puppies when it was an emergency, made us feel like we could / should trust them with their regular care. Weve enjoyed every visit and how the staff has gone out of their way to show how much they care about animals, our animals. This, combined with the 24 hour emergency care, made it easy to cancel our monthly well maintenance plan with the big-box vet and move everything over to them.

Our dog got a nasty cut right by his eye that nicked an artery. He was bleeding very badly and we rushed him to Animal Health Services. They were very patient and calming as we brought our dog in and he bled all over everything. They rushed him to the back and Dr. Butler sewed him up right away and saved his life. She then came out and explained what his injury was and what they did (7 stitches) to fix him up. She was great. They also called the next day to follow up and check on our dogs recovery.Wonderful work and I cant recommend them enough.
