Really disappointed...I was referred to this Vet by an acquaintance. My golden was recently diagnosed with kidney disease and I was anxious to see what the vet might offer holistically. I made the appointment and was told they needed my credit card number in order to make the appointment and in case I didnt show up. Ive never had a doc let alone a vet ask this before but I agreed. Long story short, I found out after seeing a $98 charge to my account that I had apparently entered the wrong date of the appt. in my calendar. Or they gave me the wrong date? And as indicated, they charged my acct $98. When I called the following business day to determine what happened. They said I missed the appt so they charged me. I explained that I had it down for the following week, same day, same time but according to them I was wrong. I had no way of proving if I was or wasnt. They did ask if I wanted to reschedule and I thought that because I did call to clarify that perhaps they wouldnt charge me to reschedule but not so. If I wanted to reschedule it would be another $98. I had hoped since it was an honest mistake and that I called the next Business day to clear things up that they would work with me on rescheduling and not charging another $98 fee, but not so. Obviously I didnt reschedule and I wont. Dont miss your appointments here because they evidently dont operate on any form of forgiveness.

Veterinary care was good. I had used them a lot when I was living in Arizona, and always paid my bill. I have my horses at a well known breeding farm in Arizona. The breeding farm used this clinic for care. Well, my breeder gives all the owner address information to the vet when they treat the horses. Ive never had any issues with any of the other clinics. This clinic didnt take down my new address. According to the office, their notes indicate their mail was getting returned to them as non-deliverable and the phone number they were calling was listed as not in service. Instead of calling the breeder and getting the right information, they sent a meager $200.00 bill to collections and put it on my credit report. I just got a credit service and saw this charge. So, I called my breeder and called the clinic, checked all my payments to verify the charge. I did owe it. So, I paid it. Here is my rub with them. I thought they would have waved or split their surcharge for sending it to collections as it rather questionable as if it is truly my fault. Hmmmm, no... the administration said they did their due diligence on trying to contact me. Really? I would have thought your due diligence would have been to copy the correct address from the vet farm call paperwork. Or, contact the breeder to verify the information. Or..... you know, do your job.

Chaparral Veterinary is the clinic they use where I keep my horse. They came to give my horse vaccinations and do a Coggins and Health Certificate. My horse hates needles and is fearful and upset for days after these tests. Chaparral knows this. They made a clerical error on the paper work which necessitated their having to repeat the tests. They did not contact me directly. When I called their office, the staff told me to just cancel the next appt, everything was OK. Well, it wasnt and I ask them to have the doctor call me. The doctor never called. I did not give permission for my horse to be retested until the doctor called. She apologized for the error, but said there would be no additional charge to me. I told her the charge was the least of my concerns. The error in the first place, no contact to me in the second place, no response when I ask the doctor to call me, mis information from their office, having to repeat the test and further dramatize my horse all upset me. I can not recommend this practice. They are poor to respond, have excuses, do not go out of their way to care for your animal and run their practice like a big business. Customer service and animal care take a second to profit.

The docs here are excellent. There are too many good things to say about the people that work here!! I have been a client for 30 years with small animals only. My horse loving friends swear they are excellent with their animals too. Whenever I have picked up a stray, taken in an animal for rescue, or found a pet for myself, they have always been great and charged a fair price. To be honest, they have helped me save a few strays and rescues for next to nothing. Good philosophy. Great people!

Dr. Andrea and Dr. Walker are wonderful and caring doctors. Thank you for always taking such great care of our 4 legged family members. Streaker, even though he is royalty, and looks down upon the commoners, says he is very appreciative of all that Dr. Walker did today, but asked that the lady with the long plastic glove please restraint from entering the southern most portion of his extremities in the future. :-) Thank you!

The staff are friendly and the doctors weve seen seem to know their stuff. Plus, the dogs dont completely freak when we get there. They know whats up and if they didnt like the staff we wouldnt be there.

Theyve always taken great and knowledgeable care with our horses and dogs. Weve used Chaparral since 2010 and never had a bad experience. The facility is also state of the art.
