Ive moved my vet business else where... Caring hearts was not capable to come with a solid solution for my dogs entropion (lower-eyelids roll in) OR even KNOW that he has allergies too! (Even though I asked about that too at the first appointment! AND theyve seen him repeated times) I wish I read what JJ wrote about their surgery practices... first stitch ok... one came undone-- they retied and adhesived (later by NEW VET said that was technique issue). Second stitch... LOOSE stitch (did not stitch his eye tight so it rolled in when closed!! Tehcnician on call said cause of swelling there... later they said it was "out". IT WAS NOT OUT. I TOOK PHOTOS AND VIDEO). Second vet also said his other eye was ok. WHEN IT ROLLED IN WHEN CLOSED. They did a "no charge" for the FIX UP after the second vet stitched his one eye loose and did not know the other eye was needing to be stitched as well. This is when I thought they cared....... AFTERWARDS.... when the 1 of 2 stitches on both eyes came out (HOW IT HAPPENS DOESNT MATTER! They say dog pulling out-- if thats the case! FINE! Then what should I do then?!! DID NOT HELP ME! I have people watching him AROUND the clock! ANYTHING, no times, no help, no nothing) they wanted to talk money. I didnt care about the money at that point. I wanted a REAL SOLUTION.. instead of doing the same thing over and over again. I didnt want them driving me to the poor house, the dog is going through SURGERY after SURGERY, and wanted a SOLUTION. I want a vet that can solve the issue.. They also did not ADDRESS another issue the dog was having.. which was allergies!!! They actually said he does not have any!! The other vet said its obvious and now hes even HAPPIER than before... I put my trust in the vet and found I should have got a second opinion sooner than I did. They said he was pulling out the stitches, but the other vet watched.. he actually wasnt even using his dew claws or anything of the sort.. but he was biting his legs and they saw that he had a different issue happening as well which was the allergies. Hes now perfect bill of health. NO ISSUE NOW WITH NEW VET. NONE. Since they took the time to evaluate and really understand my dogs unique situation, they found how to help him !!!! They were also in agreement... no compassion on what the doctor said to me. If you got to work harder to make the dog healthy... do it! The whole experience left me crying.... I dont think the owner cared that I was near tears on the phone. They talk to me as if I was stupid... when the technician Omar would say TWO different things in the same day of calling me (hes ok... call again... no hes not ok). They also decided to call him a "bad dog" . Really? A 5 month old puppy that they were ready to stitch 3 times with a week span..... Never did anything to be called BAD except he is a pitbull mix. Seriously.... could this be a breed discrimination? At first I debated writing this review.. thinking people will dismiss it. However, if I took JJ seriously in what they wrote.... I may have avoided this issue. I want a GREAT vet relationship.... communication and really experience to know whats best for the dog and REAL solutions that work.... FIND A VET THAT HAS A _TRUE_ CARING HEART! Not one who lost compassion for owner and pet. (NOTE! He also suggested 3 options... 1) repeat same thing that doesnt work. 2) permanent surgery earlier that he previously convinced was BAD to do for dog.. (not in dogs interest). 3) Leave it be and medicate for pain... (not in dogs interest!) . SUM IT UP.... Ill quote an incredibly intelligent and insightful man ....... Albert Einstein "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" DO NOT SETTLE!!! FIND A GOOD VET THAT WILL TAKE THE TIME TO COME UP WITH A REAL SOLUTION !!!!! Ive already let all my friends, family, and coworkers know NOT to take their business here ! As well the dog-trainer for his clients. BEWARE!

I can’t even put into words how much I love Dr. Schleappe and his staff. We have been going to Caring Hearts Animal Clinic for over 17 years. Our pets are family!! Over the years we have enjoyed welcoming new family members and the sadness of saying good-bye to our loved ones. We have experienced rare diagnoses of masticatory muscle myositis and believe me this is rare!! Our Rottie was even a rarer case because he only had it on the one side of his head instead of both. Only two neurologist in the USA at the time. I was so grateful for Dr. Schleappe to help us with our boy! We even had a custom bike helmet made so he could continue to play and be a happy boy. We have dealt with our family having valley fever together!! The funny thing….. it took 4 blood tests for our family doctor to diagnose my husband with valley fever and it only took one test with Dr. Schleappe to say our yellow lab needed to be treated for valley fever. I always joked with our family doctor and told him I was going to take my husband to the vet to get tested!! Lol!! Over the years our dogs have a had different things and honestly some common, some not!! Dr. Schleappe and his staff have never made us feel uncomfortable. He simply explains the situation, the steps he recommends and we decide how we move forward. We have even moved and continue to drive 14miles so our family members receive excellent care. It breaks my heart having to share this but unfortunately one of my labs lost her battle to cancer. Our dear sweet Jessie’s paws have permanently left a mark on our hearts. Everyone she meets she greeted with unconditional love and shared her high spirit for life. Her energy level could never be resolved with one toy or one person! So much love in one soul was always so surprising to us! It breaks our heart to kiss her good-bye but she is forever in our hearts. She didn’t suffer and she wasn’t alone! My poor hubby couldn’t be there for the final injection good-bye and I couldn’t leave her. Dr. Schleappe stayed with me when my hubby could no longer stay in the room. It completely breaks my heart to see my sweet Jessie go but I’m so grateful to have such a loving and compassionate vet who didn’t leave my side. We are so broken about Jessie and know Christmas will not be the same without her. I just want to say thank you to Dr. Schleappe for the card and sending your condolences! This means the world to our family!

I received very poor service, they employee technicians that were very unprofessional, and in the end I had to bring my dog to an emergency veterinarian as his wound opened up and was infected. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone seeking surgical procedures for their animals. While this group of veterinarians may talk a good game, how they pride themselves on customer service, their ability to serve as an emergency room and urgent care for animals, etc. etc.. In the end it’s all about the bottom line and covering themselves in case of lawsuit. I had surgery performed on my dog, which had to have fatty masses removed and extensive dental work performed. After experiencing appalling customer service, not being able to speak or visit with the Doctor even though I had asked several times, and witnessing the lack of knowledge and professionalism by the technicians, Dr. Lowrance and her team were already ranking very low with me. The day after the sutures were removed I found my self in an emergency veterinarian’s clinic having a hole the size of my fist being closed in my dog’s chest. It was this emergency veterinarian that raised severe doubt in their abilities as surgeons after listing off the items that could have been done differently. I contacted the owner of Caring Hearts Animal Clinic, Dr. Schleappe, soon after this debacle to make him aware of my concerns and ask that they cover at least a portion of the emergency vet bills. This was met with a severely defensive nature and a concerning lack of care for the situation. It was clear the Doctor was trying to cover his practice and stated in no uncertain terms that they would not cover any portion of the bill. This must be the customer service they pride themselves on… It’s sad really!
