I was suppose to have sleeve surgery with Dr. Podkameni in July, 2016! My Insurance was already authorized for the surgery! I had done about 8 test such as stress test, chest XRay, abdominal ultrasound etc! The problem with banner hospital program & Dr Podkameni is that he will put you 2 weeks before your surgery on a liquid diet to shrink your liver in order Dr Podkameni is able to do the surgery! Do you know how difficult it is to go on a two-week liquid diet? Its very, very difficult to do! Not to mention after your surgery he will put you on another 2 weeks of liquid diet! & then I got lucky! a friend of mine referred me to Dr Terry Simpson & had sleeve surgery done with Dr. Simpson! My friend told me he didnt have to go on 2 weeks of liquid diet! Dr Simpson has been doing sleeve surgery way longer then any Docter at banner including Dr Podkameni who by the way is director of sleeve surgery at banner! I went I saw Dr Simpson & asked him if its true that its not the required to go on a liquid diet prior to the surgery? & was I thrilled to hear from Dr Simpson that its true its not! & only 4 days of liquid diet after surgery! Needless to say I switched to Dr Simpson & had my surgery on 08/30/16! & 4 days later as Im writing this review I feel great! Everything went smooth no complications Dr. Simpson is a genius! This tells me Dr Podkameni & Banner hospital is not in the same league as Dr Simpson! Dont suffer of 2 weeks of liquid diet when you dont have to with Dr Simpson! Dr Podkameni is an amazing Dr. his bedside manner is what all doctors should have. doesnt best around the bush, tells you like it is. i love my doctor for helping me through my difficult surgery!
