We found a bed bug in the ER room and told the nurse about it. They moved us to another room and said they were treating it with chemicals. We could smell the chemicals, but WE ALL know they dont die from chemicals, they die from heat. And, all I went in for was a headache that lasted for 5 days. Bottom line is we found bed bugs and have been getting bit since then, they show no record of any of it at all. The doctor had told us, "Oh, dont worry about it. they wont go home with you." We all know, THAT IS NOT TRUE! I have been talking to the hospital, they keep telling me there is no record of it, if they insist on that one, they are trying to hide it. I am very unhappy with this, COMPLETELY UNHAPPY!!! I live in apartments and now, they may have to treat all the units, and Im sure they see it as Im the cause of all of this! The only thing I even like about this hospital is that I get in quicker than if I would go to any Banner hospital or any of them close to me. But, in very recent visits for an ectopic pregnancy, they kept sending me home. In case some of you didnt know, when a woman is pregnant and needs to be treated for an ectopic (fallopian tube) pregnancy, it is VERY dangerous to send them home without a proper diagnosis and treatment. That is because, with ectopic pregnancy, you can hemorrhage (bleed out and die), if not properly taken care of or watched over by a medical professional. Also, getting bed bugs from this hospital on top of not being diagnosed nor getting treated for a dangerous situation, EVEN MY REGULAR OB GYN DOCTOR SAID, "DO NOT GO BACK THERE!!!! " Mostly because, when I handed her my discharged papers, they kept saying, "I think, and its a possible; ectopic or just a plain old miscarriage." Never did they flat out say it was, even when I called my on call doctor at night and explained the pain, I was told that sounds like an ectopic pregnancy. I told the hospital the same thing. Im not saying all the workers there are bad, but these experiences in this past couple months have been horrid, they do as little as possible even when I have FULL medical coverage! And I may end up being infested if I dont find a live one to bring to my apartments within 2 days! My boyfriend has bed bug bites everywhere, I have bed bug bites everywhere. If anything is ruined from treatments, if I get treatments, I will want them to pay their debt and their part of this whole mess they have cause especially when they are saying there is no record of anything being treated! Sincerely, Nick F. and Ashley S.

Whilst I may not be able to pinpoint exactly who, but one of your nurses is using the whisper app to bash patients. I suggest, having a meeting discussing that if they are going to be representing your hospital. She stated, "bigger women need to stop being proud of their size, its just an exuse to be lazy" then in private message proceeded to say that overweight and obese patients dont deserve help because they cant put a cheese burger down. This is extremely outraging... I only know what city she posted from so all the hospitals in your area are getting these emails. This is a terrible attitude, especially for a nurse to have. Terrible representation of your hospital. I can provide screen shots of everything she has said if requested, whilst I maynot have been kind, being an overweight person myself, she kept defending that fat people dont deserve the medical help and that she feels ashamed for all the obese women she has to deal with in the hospital. She is obviously neglecting the important fact of addiction and her attitude do not show someone well educated on the subject of addiction, which as a nurse, I would think is very important. Thank you for your time. Again, I suggest a general meeting or notice passed around to nurses that this is a despicable way to represent your hospital and its staff. It is terrible to think the nurses are condemning the patients for their weight. Its terrible knowing that a nurse in general has such a hard time doing her job for obese people.

I have had excellent experiences with this ER. For years I went to other ERs in a great amount of pain. My pulse was very high from the pain as was my blood pressure. They had no answers for me. The pain was right where my gallbladder was located. Some of the other hospitals did an ultrasound but said they found no stones and sent me home. One wonderful doctor at this ER suspected that it still was my gallbladder. He sent me home but told me to return the next day fasting. They did a HYDA scan and discovered that my gallbladder was only functioning in the 20% range. They admitted me to the hospital immediately and removed my gallbladder the next day. I have never waited more than 5 minutes to be taken back. I disagree with those who complain about the EMTs or paramedics. Who better to get an IV in you than a paramedic who has seen it all and is use to doing it while moving. Most of the staff is wonderful. I hope to not return any time soon but I will gladly recommend them to everyone. There is a female doctor and I cant remember her name but she is amazing. I feel these doctors actually listen to your symptoms and run the appropriate tests.

I recently wrote a very critical review of this hospital due to billing issues and insurance coverage. The issue is the difference between "taking" insurance and "contracting" with insurance. My main issue was the way I was treated when trying to review and resolve the billing issue. I thought it was very poor customer service when the finance office was less than open to listening to my side. However, since then I was asked to meet with the CEO and public relations officer for the hospital. They were very gracious and went above and beyond to see my point of view. We worked together to resolve the issue. In this respect, they listened and went above and beyond. I now realize how government regulations, insurance rules and quality care is a difficult juggling act. I rate people on their ability to fix problems and do the right thing. In this case, Gilbert Hospitial did an outstanding job. Like all businesses, they will have issues, but I see that they are really looking to improve and grow.

What a joke of a hospital. First of all they could not tell us if our insurance was excepted. Nurses were rude and slow. My wife had a ct scan. The doctor insured me he only took 1 scan after asked him 3 times. Then came the bill. These liars will try and take you for what ever you have. Then on our way out i asked where a pharmacy was to fill my wifes prescription ( we were from out of town ) and they told me that i was on my own. They wont return my phone calls but have no problem making harassing collection calls. I had not even been billed yet before they started. Great job. Go to any other hospital than this run down, money stealing hospital. Gilbert hospital wont respond to criticism because they know what kind of BS hospital this is. Next time i will gladly go to a Banner hospital and get better service and not expect to pay for services not provided.
