After reading these posts I was apprehensive about going to this dentistry my wife goes there and convinced me to give them a try. The waiting room was very organized and clean and even had some dividers for more private waiting. The receptionist were very warm welcome when you went in. I was able to fill out all the forms online before I even went to the office so it was very nice that you did not have to wait to fill out forms. When I was called, the technician that took me was very knowledgeable about her process and very friendly. She took three types of Digital x-rays and all were visible to me immediately after the x-rays on a computer screen. When the doctor came in he was very professional introduced himself and proceeded to ask me how I was and what my situation was. He sat down across from me looked me in the eyes and listened to everything I had to say. I did not at any time feel that he was in a hurry to get on to the next patient and that was very impressive and appreciated. After reading some of the reviews while I was trying to find the dentist I was afraid that the dentist would try to upsell me into root canals gold plated braces and all kinds of stuff. But the doctor pulled up my xrays and showed me everything that I needed to know and he made sure that I understood what I was looking at. So we decided to get the deep cleaning and some antibiotics for my infected tooth. When the dental hygeinist came in I was impressed with her as much as I was with the doctor very professional and knowledgeable about her job. At this point I expressed my concern that I have not been to the dentist in 20 years because of the tools of pain that are used by dentist, jackhammers chainsaws vacuum cleaners hammers and chisels so forth and so on and the pain that they inflict. Okay maybe it wasnt that bad but as you can tell I was very concerned about the pain that was sure to follow. I told her that the last time I went to the dentist. They injected needles in your gums so you did not feel the pain and I still felt the pain! ( not this dentistry) Isnt that kinda like poking your eyeballs out so you cannot see anything bad. kind of an oxymoron. But she assured me that there were no needles and now they use a paste they put on your gums to numb your gums I was very pleased to hear that there were no needles but I was still skeptical about a paste masking any pain. But to keep this from turning into a book she was correct throughout the whole deep cleaning there was no pain at all! I was very happy. So let me close this book out by saying that I will not be shopping for any other dentist I have found my dentist home. I was going to put the doctors and the dental hygienist name on here, but I believe that you will get the same professional service by any employee at Laveen Modern Dentistry. Thanks guys, Jim

Indeed, the staff is very friendly and Alejandra is a terrific dental hygenist. However, they do a real sales job on you once you walk in the door. I felt like I was at a used car dealership or a timeshare presentation. I keep my teeth up and routinely get them cleaned every 3-6 months. Since I dont have insurance, I got a VERY GOOD DEAL to get a teeth cleaning at Laveen Modern Dentistry as a first time patient. They came up with $2700 worth of work they wanted me to sign off on right then and there and tried refusing to do the work Id paid for in my deal. In fact, they even tried getting away with telling me they (someone who wasnt a hygenist) would only polish, not clean (which was a part of the deal) my teeth. Well, after waiting over 2 and a half hours, Alehandra ended up actually cleaning my teeth and she did a good job. Keep in mind, they give $100 off work for anybody who rates them highly here on yelp, so if I trusted their recommendations, I might write a favorable review for the $100 (bribe). Hmmmm, as someone who takes good care of my teeth, Id just save myself the hard sales tactics and go elsewhere. If I didnt take care of my teeth, Id at least go somewhere else to get a 2nd opinion. I went to another dental office today for a teeth cleaning and the office I went to today was very professional. Their treatment plan was $385 which coincided with the two dental offices I went to previous to going to Laveen Modern Dentistry. Laveen Modern Dentistry is a place which gets you in with inexpensive deals and then "makes up" un-substantiated problems in order to line their pockets. Run as far away from them as fast as you can!!!

I was seen by Dr. Casey Crum who evaluated the tooth and advised I needed a crown and possibly root canal.. I advised hadnt been to dentist so I trusted he knew what was best they were nice as could be first visit. Office manager Rosa came in and advised they had a finance plan to help no worries and the great thing was they dont offer metal crowns they will look like a reg tooth after it was said and done came back for the perm crown and after taking to insurance realized my portion was $625 they were charging well over this and said I paid for the crown to be made same day although I didnt get it same day but I now needed to pay extra to put it in and when Dr Crumb came in he said well we should do a root canal before putting it in after being advised I didnt need it and said I either get the root canal or have my tooth extracted I told him wasnt a fair option seeing that I had a temp crown on after advising him that I believe they were just trying to take more money rescheduled me for another appt and was adv he and the office refused to service me after being paid upfront and adv that I would have an internal credit (asked the receptionist if they werent going to provide service why would I have an internal credit?) Still waiting on a refund to both the insurance and myself.. Please read all the reviews in yelp. This was my personal experience which after this went in yelp and realized I was not alone.

As soon as I got in the door, theyre telling me about all the expensive work I need done. I think its because this is part of a big corporation and there is probably a mandate to try for as many services as possible to increase billing. The dentists there are nice but I get the feeling they have no say in what goes on in the billing office. Ive also had the same insurance for literally 15 years and there was never a co-pay or any charge for a regular cleaning at any other dentist Ive been to. They kept entering me in under different codes so it was always a (not pleasant) surprise when I got there- several times it as $36 co-pay, then I had a credit (which irritates me as well, if they overcharged me in the past, they should have sent me a check or at the very least told me about it as soon they figured it out), the after the most recent visit I got a bill for $224- all for same exact cleanings. So why is charge different each time? I also got a root canal which was pretty awful there- it took forever and was painful. Im guessing theyre awful anywhere so I cant really blame them for that. But several months afterwards, the tooth starting hurting all of a sudden. And Im honestly terrified to go back in because I dont know how much they will decide to charge me to fix it. Find a dentist who owns his own shop, stay away from the big companies.
