Response to Dr: 1. The person writing this comment was present via teleconference therefore part of the appointment in which you attempted to over talk, became confrontational and walked out on before I ever had the chance to clarify Storms condition and history... VERY UNPROFESSIONAL, INSENSITIVE and UNBECOMING OF SOMEONE PROCLAIMING TO BE A DR. 2. When the appointment was made I specifically informed your staff of the dogs illness/surgical history and current critical wasting condition. I told her that we did not want any additional testing only end-of-life comfort and pain management...I specifically said "We know hes dying, I just want to keep him comfortable" I dont know how much more clear you can be??!! So this sounds like an active listening failure, a recurring theme with your practice apparently. 3. I was also told at the time making appointment that records would be requested from VCA Animal Hospital where he had all of his treatment done. When I was called to confirm the appointment there was no mention that the records had not been received. Furthermore, within minutes of the appointment start records were emailed to you directly however you took less than 5 minutes to review them instead making assumptions and you did refuse treatment..if I could have taped our conversation I would transcribe it for future patients... As of now, my comments stand and your lack of active listening, arrogance and inability to understand anyones point of you other than your own or take into consideration the needs of your customers and patients is what prompted this review ...others should be warned. IGNORANT ARROGANT INCOMPASSIONATE INSENSITIVE SOB!! History: 9 year old Weimaraner Storm ... 2015 develops large mass on abdomen doctor say its a fatty mass no treatment needed, 2017 suddenly over the course of a week and a half develops huge mass on his neck...take him into emergency veterinary hospital for blood tests, MRI, fine needle aspiration still no clear diagnosis. Attempt surgical removal of the cervical mass and Storm is recovering well for the first couple of weeks but deteriorates quickly. Refuses all food including chopped meats will only take ice.....we do our homework and get him on liquid supplements and puppy milk in frozen form to keep his nutrition, doctors prescribe pain management but not much els... we refuse to euthanize as we do not feel its ethical... Doctors release him from emergency care and advised to find Primary Care we come to Comet Veterinary hoping to continue end-of-life pain management and keep him comfortable as long as he is with us...we let them know when scheduling we do not wish to go through any further invasive testing or procedures as we know the illness is winning we just want to keep him comfortable...we come in the doctor takes one look at Storm and decides that there is some neglect on our side and refuses to treat him says it would be unethical and illegal for him just to prescribe pain management at this point and wants to start all over with invasive testing both unnecessary and expensive.. .when I try to explain to him Storms history he decides to cut me off mid-sentence and walk out of the room....we refused to pay and left dont!! Dont ever ever take your best friends here this man does not deserve his license! Went straight back to Storms surgeon and explained what happened, they made an opening and will see him today...VCA Emergency is the best!

I started going to Comet back in December of 2011 and I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Michael and his staff. I moved here from Colorado back in 2001 and back in Colorado had an amazing vet for over two decades. After moving to Arizona I became really frustrated with the quality and/or the expense of veterinary care I had found. After 3 different veterinarians over the course of ten years I had just kind of given up and figured that places like Banfield were as good as it got out here. Then when I was walking one day and talking to someone who was walking her dog she told me about Comet Veterinary that was less then a mile from where we lived, she had great things to say about it.She was absolutely right. The people at Comet totally remind us of the good old honest vets we had in Colorado. I am very grateful for Dr. Michaels honesty and integrity and compassion.

I have lived in the valley for over ten years and never met such an AWESOME vet like Dr. Recupero! On a Saturday, my kitty got sick and he was the ONLY one who would give me an appointment within an hour of my phone call with NO additional charges for an emergency visit. When I arrived, I was greeted by a very friendly staff and seen immediately. It was puzzling as to what was wrong with my kitty. I left my kitty all afternoon also at NO additional charge. WOW, when I returned, I was show my kitty cats blood, urine and X-rays and everything was thoroughly explained to me in detail. Also, my bill was a fraction of what it would have been at my regular vets office who, by the way, would NOT see my kitty. All good news and now I have a healthy, happy cat! I have found a new vet and that is Dr. Recupero! Trust me you will not be disappointed .

Dr Recupero is gentle with a wonderful, dry sense of humor and truly knows his stuff! We have 3 dogs and all have been seen over the past few years for various reasons at Comet. We appreciate that Dr Recupero is extremely honest and forthright when discussing the animals and their care. He is kind and careful with them all (even to the dog who is not so nice back!) He calls to follow up after a serious treatment to make sure they are doing well (wonderful personal touch). We would highly recommend Dr Recupero and his wonderful staff - always friendly and willing to help with a smile on their faces.

Our Sophie was attacked this morning 6-16-16 by we believe a coyote or Dr. Recupero thinks maybe it was a javilina. I called with the emergency and they said to come right away and Dr. Recupero was standing out front waiting for us to arrive. The clinic is now closed but the doctor is going to stay with her because shes really hurt and he cares and is worried about her. If she makes it, this will be the second time hes saved her life. She had a fungal infection. A difficult diagnosis. He treated her and she survived. Hes like Dr. House!

Dr. Recuperos love for animals is apparent each time I bring one of my two dogs in for a visit. As an owner I never feel over charged and feel the rates he charges are more than fair for the services provided. His staff is friendly and the office is always clean and tidy. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend Comet Vet, the Doctor knows what he is doing. They do not have outrageous prices or try to sell you things that are not needed. The staff is very nice and experienced.
