My dogs teeth cleaning was done at Red Mountain Animal Hospital. As I went to pick him up, the 1st thing that surprised me was that he wasnt shown to me right away when I asked to see him. He had been there from 7am. (It was 3pm when I picked him up). When the assistant finally brought in my dog (after going over his treatment), she handed him to me-heavy and cold, as if he was dead. I asked why he was so heavily sedated (I expected him to be fully awake, as his procedure should have ended awhile ago, and wasnt complicated). She responded that he just needed to sleep it off, and that he was fine. My dog didnt look fine to me at all (it wasnt his 1st time getting his teeth cleaned), he had trouble breathing, was very cold, and totally loopy, almost unresponsive. He wasnt able to sit or stand up. When I looked at the list of the opioid medications he was given, I was shocked. He was given the strongest meds, such as hydromorphone, ketamine and other drugs- 4 different opioid drugs, to a small 28 pound dog! As I got home, I was worried about my puppy and called their clinic/doctor, explained what was going on, to which the doctor suggested to bring him in. As he was examining him, he said that my dogs temperature was 96 degrees-he was hypothermic, and I wondered- how come you let my dog go home in this condition??? He gave my dog a shot of Narcan (a drug that reverses the effect of opioids), and as soon as I left the hospital, my dog felt much better! I will never go back there! My dog had had his teeth cleaned before, yet I have never seen him in such a bad condition, and I have never seen a small dog get that many drugs.

I continually recommend Red Mountain Animal Hospital to family and friends and many of those referrals have become reoccurring clients. I do this for many reasons...first because of the excellent expertise, knowledge and care I have received from specifically Dr. Bishop and Dr. Fornara. These two veterinarians are my first choice when having my pets cared for. Each time I come in to Red Mountain Animal Hospital, the vets I see (Dr. Bishop/Dr. Fornara) go above and beyond sharing tips on how to help manage my animals weight, teeth, medical care, etc. These two Dr.s are truly amazing! Another perk this office provides is the overwhelmingly kind and customer service oriented relations I have experienced with the assistants and reception. Finally, the bottom line, out of pocket expense is remarkable compared to ANY other vet office I have used in the past. Your office goes the least restrictive route when caring for pets, while not compromising the health and welfare of those animals. Basically, your office is not doing x-rays, ultrasounds, blood work unnecessarily just to rack up the bill. Your costs for dental care is likely the best/lowest in the valley! This ethical work practice builds my trust and confidence in your office and gives me complete peace and assurance that when I refer friends/family they will be equally impressed. Lots of Love for Red Mountain Animal Hospital!!

Wow! I am completely disappointed in my visits. I called to schedule an appointment to have my baby neutered. I was told that I needed to bring him in for a physical prior to his surgery appointment. I took him in for his physical, Was told that he was in great shape and healthy. We returned for our return visit, he had his surgery. When I went to pick him up, I was told that he had another physical and to keep an eye on him because he had exudate coming from his rectum. Sure enough, the next day I had to take him in for an emergency visit elsewhere due to an abcsess. Additional fees, more anesthesia and an additional surgery needed to be preformed. When they called to see how he was doing I told them what happened. I was told they did not do a physical and that I could bring him in every 6 weeks for a fee and they would make sure it never happened again. No way! My loved ones will go somewhere where they are truly cared for, not some place that just wants to make a buck at the expense of my pets health. I thought that because they were more expensive they would assure that my pet would be well cared for, I was wrong.

Red Mtn Animal Hospital does not know how to properly care for or treat diabetic cats. Dr. Kleban hardly gave us the time of day, and when my cat kept getting sick, he still never even told me or thought about the fact he prescribed her HUMAN INSULIN instead of pet insulin. Also, he neglected to inform me that she needed to eat before giving her insulin. I have never had a diabetic pet before, or know anything about diabetes, how would I know? Thats why I trusted my veterinarian to give me the VITAL information regarding this. The testing procedures are wrong. After 6 months of this, and my cat constantly having episodes, I took her to Caring Hearts pet clinic and immediately found relief with Dr. Montez. Their testing is more accurate and doesnt require all day stay. Malaki has not had a diabetic episode since I took her there. He knew right away that her insulin was probably the issue. Its hard enough having a diabetic cat you love, so if you dont want to traumatize them, take them to Caring Hearts and NOT Red Mtn Animal Hospital. Its a shame I have to give them 1 star to leave this review.

I first met Dr Kleban at Arcadia Pet clinic on Broadway before he had his own office. I have recommended him to many people over the years. His philosophy of pet care is no nonsense.....he will do everything you need him to do but he will not guilt you into doing things that are expensive and have a low rate of return -- like for an elderly pet. I recently dealt with Dr Pearson and was impressed with her also. I am sure all the doctors have the same work ethic and that is why they work well as a team. Most recently, my Grand-puppy became very ill for an unknown reason.....we needed to take her to another hospital for an overnight stay and a blood transfusion...and back monthly for followup visits at Red Mountain. They never charged for the followup visits -- just the blood draw/test each time. I drive quite a ways to take my Grand-puppy to this clinic. But my mind is at ease that she is being taken care of properly and lovingly by anyone who touches her. I have the utmost confidence in Red Mountain and Dr Kleban, in particular, because I know him the best.

After going to a nearby vet and being over charged for an office exam and annual shots I started using the Vetco traveling vet for shots. We just adopted a puppy from a no kill shelter and felt he needed a good one over. Also my older dog was showing convincing signs of hypothyroidism. We brought both dogs in on a same day appointment and the vet spent over an hour with us. The 2 exams, medicine for an ear infection, a bordetella vaccine and thyroid blood work was the same cost as my older dogs former vet visit. They didnt try to sell us on unnecessary treatments or products. We were very pleased with all the staff and the enitre experience. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
