I have been bringing my pets here for about 15 years and counting. Actually, since I was a teen barely old enough to take financial responsibility for my pets. I remember back when they used to keep cats in the area where they now have records. I wish they would go back to that and maybe have rescue kitties in there! Anyway, Ive brought birds, dogs, and cats to see Dr. Cromer. Dr. Snyder has also seen a couple of my dogs and cats. Theyve had surgeries, cat grooming, anal gland care, bladder stone care, and more. The only times I have ever gone anywhere else have been on an emergency or an impatient Sunday (and OK, a few times I have been to the shot or spay clinics to save money). Ive never been completely happy anywhere else. When I was younger Dr. Cromer would explain things to me in a way I understood, and it was his intelligence and knowledge (which are two different things) that made me interested in research. Dr.Cromer knows what he is doing, so if you want a vet you can have confidence in, he is your guy. He has a personality that is always on, and if I tried to do that Id be worn out by now! Dr. Snyder has a different personality, but I dont think the reviews of him paint the whole picture. He may seem serious, but he actually has a funny side. I know there have been some comments in reviews made as far the docs being salesmen, but if you dont want something you can say no. Ive owned an unrelated business for almost a decade now and I can tell you that retail is great for your bottom line, but the important thing is that it should always be something beneficial. I have never had them suggest anything to me that was pointless and I like knowing what options are out there. For example, the last vet I went to for an emergency gave us an antibiotic but didnt suggest Bene-Bac to go along with it. I would never take an antibiotic without a probiotic! Retail isnt the enemy, but if you are on a tight budget simply decline. Ive sent friends and clients here over the years and they are always happy. The only negative feedback anyone has ever given me is on the price, but when you compare to other docs it is actually average. Most cheaper places are going to be discount clinics, which are a whole different experience and wont be your regular vets. Also keep in mind that when there are lower prices for one type of service (spay, neuter), other services may be higher to compensate (vaccinations, testing). So, if you are going to price shop make sure you get a complete picture. The only thing I would change about Tri City East is that they offer the declawing of cats. In their defense most American vets do this, however declawing is now illegal or strictly regulated in many countries. It is not medically necessary and it is not a substitute for training, trimming, or having a scratching post. Before you think about declawing please consider alternatives and ask yourself whether doing so benefits the cat (not usually unless it will be put to death if not declawed) or whether it benefits you (which is usually the case and is an awful thing to do). If you doubt me then call Dr. Kirsten Doub with Union Park Veterinary Hospital in Utah. She is currently doing an ongoing study. In any case, I highly recommend Tri City East and any doc you see here is going to be a good one.

I would love to say that I had a great experience here; but the fact is I did not. I went here last year to get my cat her shots and to be honest I did not take her because I had to work so my mother took her for me. I recently adopted a dog from the shelter and had to take my cat into the Vet to get shots as well; so I took them to Tri-City. It was wretched; there is one really nice Vet at this location; however it was not worth the fact that the owner (also a Vet) is very unkind and more of a sales person than anything else. So basically I took my pets there, they gave me the wrong meds for my dog; so she just continued to get sicker; after a week I took my dog elsewhere and she received the right care and was better in 2 days! I am not sure but it seems like they do not treat the animal with proper care in order to get you to come back in and pay the visit fee; also they are very expensive compared to others in the area; and again the service was horrid! The really bad thing is that I told my friend to take her cat there (also a rescue animal from the same shelter) and her kitten was also sick. She took the kitty to the Vet on a Friday to get a well check and the Vet prescribed a med that actually seemed to make the cat sicker; then had my friend come in again to pay and up the dose of the meds a week later (keep in mind the whole time my friend was worried about this cat; they were trying to sell her on teeth care and other shots); by this point the kitty cannot breathe and honestly looks like he might die (it is very sad). She just received a call from these people and they "know" the cat is very sick ( I mean having to be fed with a syringe); however all they want to do is give the cat shots; right now while he can barely hold his head up. I took over the call for my friend because she is just up in arms about this place and informed the receptionist that her kitty would not be in to get shots. We will take her cat to the other Vet where I took my dog; this way the kitty will live. If you care about your pet do not go to Tri-City; there are many other Vets out there and it would be a shame to have you go thru what we did with (2) very sick animals! They will just try to sell you on all their animal brands and not even ensure you pet has the right meds to get well.

I have to say I am so happy I could cry... About three weeks ago my rescue dog Mocha got attacked by another dog and torn up pretty bad. I tried to brake up the fight and ended up in bad shape as well. I had to have Dan take my nine year old Mocha to Tri-city while I went to the hospital. With no appointment they got her in right away. I can not even begin to put into words how great these people are. Any other vet would have put her down. Greg ( the vet that helped her) and a young male vet tech that was about to go into the military, went above and beyond "the call of duty" to heal her wounds and to make her comfortable (as she and I were very scared). They not only took care of Mocha, they took care "of a panicking father" since he had to take her and I was still at the hospital. After all that, They called me Twice just to see how we were doing and I was having trouble getting her to take her meds. The wonderful woman stayed on the phone with me and gave me all kinds of helpful advice til we found something that worked ( cheap hotdogs!) Two weeks later when it was time to have the staples removed I was able to go meet the amazing people who saved my dogs life, and with just as much patience and love they were able to keep her calm and comfortable as possible. I am so grateful to these people and have since been telling everyone I know. In addition, to the lady who had a bad experience with her cat. Writing a negative review based on third party information is neither fair nor ethical. The propensity for "misunderstandings " is compounded when a third party is relaying the story. If your Mother would like to write a negative review I would encourage her to do so. Pet health care is a confusing subject even for the"actual owner" of the pet. as animals cannot convey there needs. It is even more confusing for a person who is not actual parent. Im very sorry for your pets pain, I hope with all my heart your cat is alive and healthy today, and that you have found veterinary care that more suits your needs. We have three rescued dogs with three very different personalitys and they have catered so well to them all. Thank you!
