If you want help for your loved one, dont go here. My brother was sent to Desert Vista via court-order after he attacked my mom and nearly broke down her door trying to get to her. A few days prior to that the cops had been called out to our home for another spout of domestic violence, aggravated assault, and vandalism. A few weeks before that the cops were called out because he tried to stab his friends with a knife. He has a long history of PDD and Bi-Polar syndrome. Desert Vista kept him for a week before they decided he didnt need to be there. Why? Because he told them he was Okay. He wasnt going to hurt himself or anyone else. And that was good enough for them. And, because the court ordered that my brother could not return to our parents house for their protection and he has no friends, they kicked him out onto the streets. This is not the kind of place to send your child, sibling, or loved one if you truly want them to get the help they deserve. They flat out told my parents "We dont care."

I had the misfortune of visiting a patient in this place. I witnessed horrific over medication, neglect and borderline abuse. Staff are unprofessional, poorly trained and use drugs in place of compassion. Incorrect diagnoses everywhere I looked. Patients actual needs not listened to, just medicated. Are these places funded by big pharma or what?! Disgrace to call this healthcare, but what can you expect in a country that cares more about a buck than its people. Shame on America for having these places. Incidentally my friend ended up killing herself. This place certainly contributed to it instead of helping her.

I am 14., and i was in Unit 2, for Suicide Attempt. I was so afraid to come to this place, and it was last minute at 1 am in the morning. It was the best experience someone could have, especially as a "child". The food is good. The staff is amazing, and always supportive, and always get you what you need. You have a roommate also the same age, and u can decorate your room as much as you like. Everyone was so welcoming, and supportive. I highly suggest you have your kid come here. By the way I was here for 6 days, and i went I went outside everyday. If anyone goes tell Ashley I say hello. BTW shes a patient,

I had a positive experience at Desert Vista. They were there for me at a time when I had no insurance and couldnt afford to see a doctor. The co-payments were very reasonable, and they gave me samples of my medication because I couldnt afford it. They gave me paperwork to receive free meds directly from the company which made them since I qualified. Doctor Bahar Goldestan ( not sure if spelled correctly), was very caring, helpful and insightful. I referred a friend and they are helping him as well. This place was a real BLESSING for me!

2016-05-10 Kelly Cain deceived me with a "sleeping pill" at roughly 0430 believed to be a risperidone. My medical records show no medication given except the percocet given 3 hours later I have TBI and wrongfully admitted due to false information. It has negatively effected my quality of life since ( 2.5 months later) and also can no longer use MMJ as i have depended for physical comfort for many years since.

Terrible place and treatment ATTENTION: Please be involved in your Loved Ones treatment and Medication. Do your own research on the medication and side effects. I was wrongfully admitted, erroneously diagnosed. Released after 2 weeks of refusing medication (except one night) i was given "Resperidone" and was told it was a sleeping pill. Needed due to my physical pain and being refused MMJ.

My son has been there since April this year. I love the staff there and they treat my son with respect. They understand his mental illness and help him with his coping skills. I do not like the lack of communication regarding his behaviors and physical. His social worker calls after various complaints regarding lack of communication about one out of five times.
