Dental nightmare I called to make an appointment after getting a referral from my regular dentist to get a wisdom tooth removed, when I talked to the receptionist on the phone I explained what insurance I had and wanted to know the cost before I decided to go with them. She told me it would be $150.00 with my discount and that their would not be an examination fee if I had the work done that day. I thought it was great and I scheduled the appointment. before hanging up she asked if I had an x ray and I said yes, the panoramic one, she said good. Two days later I go to my appointment and get there 10 minutes early to fill out the paperwork, when I went back to the counter with my x ray and papers, there was a woman upset because they scheduled her with the wrong doctor. Right then I was starting to see what kind of office this was. Thirty minutes later I asked when I was going to be called and the girl at the desk said they were just finishing up with another patient. A nurse then took me back to one of the rooms and sat me down, right then another one says, we may not be able to get to you today. Things were starting to look pretty grim when she said this until I heard her say to the patient next to me, the doctors name is Dr. Hoe, Dr, A Hoe and laughed. I did not know what to think at that point. After sitting in the chair for a half hour, Dr. Hoe came to see me and told me he would find out how much it was going to cost, I said I was quoted $150.00 when I made the appointment. He then left and came back with a different figure. He showed me on paper that it was $204.00 for the extraction and $55.00 for the x ray. I said that is not what I was quoted and you cant charge me for bringing my own x ray. He said he has no control over it and to talk to them up front. The Dr. walks me up front and the receptionist says you must be special, the Dr. never walks anyone up front. I said no more special than anyone else and than I explained again that I was quoted the price of $150.00 when I made the appointment, she then said no one is here that we can talk to about and that I will have to talk to them tomorrow. I said I will not be coming back if we do not do this today and then I will be filling a complaint with the BBB and the dental board. I then demanded to talk with the office manager and she said she already went home. I then demanded she call her, the girl then started to ask who she should call from another office person, and like a witch this woman says to her, let him do what ever he has to do and tell him to leave or we will call 911. I then grabbed my x ray and left. I have contacted the main office and waiting to see how they are going to compensate me for my time and aggravation. Now I understand why she said Dr, A Hoe

No stars. Poor quality service and treatment for new patients. I came in as a new patient and it was not explained to me that a cleaning isnt a service to new patients. (until the end when the billing specialist came in) You have to come in again and schedule a cleaning. That is shameful. It is franchise/corporation dentist spam tactic. This way they can go get your insurance again and perform all kinds of billing errors. I sat in the office for 2 hours without a cleaning. I got a set of xrays on their outdated machine (not digital) the hygienist rushed her way through my x-rays and didnt ask if I was comfortable once. My mouth was very sore after this and it lasted 24 hours after my appointment. After my x-rays I sat in a room for about 20 minutes until the dentist came and then he recommended all kinds of upselling services such as pre-cavity treatment on teeth that do not have cavities. Along with a wisdom tooth removal, since I still have them... thats big money for them. After the dentist left the room I sat alone for an hour while I waited for my extremely over-priced treatment plan worksheet to be done. I have great dental insurance and the "pre-cavity" treatment serviced would have costed around $800 out of pocket to complete. Then the billing specialist was speaking to me as if he was the dentist recommending the treatment......... that was the last straw. I got up and refused to agree to the treatment plan. Took my 1997 technology x-rays with me and I will NEVER step foot in this office again. I am beyond disgusted at the way they treated me as a new patient. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. Find a dentist who WONT upsell you and actually cares about your oral health instead of his paycheck.

First off, this is a re-branded Southwest Dental. Had I known that ahead of time, I would have never come here because I had a HORRIBLE experience at a Southwest Dental years ago. But I wasnt aware, so I went here because its close to home and takes my insurance. Made the appointment for a new patient and cleaning. Got double the texts, double the reminder calls, double the emails for this appointment. Okay so they are just very thorough. Whatever. Get to the office and she cant find my file. Get that straightened out and I get called back with this technician STRAIGHT out of community college. Nice guy but seriously how did he get hired? Took 12 years to do way too many X-rays. It was literally an hour after my appointment time and I still hadnt even seen the hygienist. Had to even re-do some X-rays. Shoot me now. Hygienist seems competent. Explains things well, but has to work frustratingly with the inept technician. Next is finally the actual dentist. Pokes around, things look good, see ya later. Ok all done says the technician. What about the cleaning? Oh thats next time. Wtf. But I had an appointment for that that you confirmed like 80 times. Back to the front where the gal was definitely a classmate of the technician. Cant get the time/date right whatever. Ugh. My husband goes in the next day and they mixed up our charts. He has the same experience plus an up-sell. Were not going back. I cant deal with ineptitude when there are so many people out there looking for work. Hire better people, people!

I USED to go here. A few years back they claimed I needed a debridement (an expensive and invasive procedure) because they said I had severe gum disease. I got up and walked out. The next week I went to another dentist (Dr. Neary). I didnt tell them what Southwest said. They cleaned, examined and x-rayed my teeth and said everything looked great. I then told them about my Southwest diagnosis. Hmmmmmm. Who is trying to make money here? My husband continued to go to Southwest. This month he went in for a check-up and they told him he needed two root canals under existing crowns. They would TRY to save the crowns. He went to Dr. Neary for a second opinion. After x-rays and an exam, Dr. Neary couldnt find anything wrong. Apparently, at one point, our insurance reimbursed them for some proceedures that wed paid for. There was credit on our account of over $800!!! No one ever let us know and if we wouldnt have found out by accident and requested a check be sent to us, they probably would have kept it. The money had been in the account for almost a year! It took over a month for a check to be cut and sent to us. Seems to me this place keeps diagnosing "problems" to make money and keep you coming in. We will NEVER go back.
