Mac Heist

Would not recommend this place. I was recommended this place by a friend who said they were a "decent" place to go, but this month they were offering a "Military Appreciation" promotion to all active duty military members for a free whitening. I thought I would give it a shot and setup an appointment with the Practice Coordinator Meagan McGuire. Upon our initial conversation she tried to upsell me into getting a cleaning as well, however I advised her I just recently had one so I turned down the cleaning. Meagans demeanor towards me turned from this point forward for the remainder of our conversation. We finished up scheduling the appointment and was told I would be seen next week. Well unfortunately that wasnt the truth. I received an email the following business day let me know that they were cancelling my appointment. Meagan advised me that she had spoken with the office manager about my upcoming appointment, and unfortunately, for the whitening you would have to be an established patient here. Meaning exam, x-rays, cleaning etc. would need to be done here. I will cancel your appointment, sorry about that. (Literally what was said). I was surprised by this as there was no hesitation in getting me into the appointment when my insurance was going to be billed for a cleaning. Based on the other reviews on Google and Yelp it seems like a predatory business anyways trying to upsell its customers on services they do not need in order to bill the insurance for more money. Based on their location and the age demographic in that area, I am sure they arent in short supply of patients who fall victim to this daily. It’s just sad to hear this is how Smiles by Design Dental does business and shows their “support” for the men and woman in uniform,

I have been going to Dr. Zana for several years now and absolutely love this office! I moved for a time clear across town from the office, but made the trip just to continue with them.The entire staff are gems from Dr. Zana to the receptionist! They are all very personable, yet professional, and extremely thorough with my dental care. They use impressive state-of-the-art technology and take great care in making sure you feel comfortable. I am, at present, using the Invisaline system to straighten my teeth ( at age 61!) and am happy with the results that Im getting thus far. I highly recommend Smiles by Design and, unless I move out of the county, plan to stay with them!

I have been going to Smiles by Design for as long as I can remember. I love them. I never leave in pain, they work well with the various insurance companies I have had over the years. Zero turnover in key staff members, who are all amazing. The office is always clean, I am always greeted when I walk in. I love getting a text reminder, that I can reply to on my phone and sync my appointment. Honestly, the only negative I have, is that I no longer work in Scottsdale and it is a bit of a drive, but they are so worth it! i will NEVER switch dentists!!!!

I love Smiles By Design! Dr. Zana is the absolute best! Last time I was in there just to pick up retainers, I mentioned a chipped tooth, and Dr. Z took the time to fix it for me. I drive 25 minutes just to go here. The entire staff is wonderful! From the second you walk in the door, everyone is so friendly, and they are very thorough with the job they do. I highly recommend going to Smiles By Design.

Dr. Zana is a great dentist, she is the only one I have ever enjoyed going to. From having my teeth pulled to having dentures made, Dr. Zana was as gental as she could be. Now I see her once a year to make sure my my dentures are fitting correctly and to make any adjustments that need to be made. Even my niece and nephew like her and dont complain when its time to see her.

This place it horrible. They upsell everything and use scare tactics like "If you dont do this now than it will fail." They begin to make you believe you have awful teeth and attempt to sell you everything under the sun to improve on something thats not needed. My family and I went there for a short time but no more. Buyer Beware!

This company will spam you for years after you fill out their patient information forms. I have tried for two and a half years to be removed from their lists, and continue to receive spam. Do not visit this dentist.

worst dental experience ever. went for a cleaning as a new patient. was told Id have to have 20 x-rays before they would do the cleaning. staff was unprofessional. office did not seem clean. I left.
