Be very careful. Within a few months over two hospital visits, my mother had both a very nice bathrobe disappear and also her RX glasses (ouch). Neither of these things was ever recovered, though we did try. The staff evidently is not good at watching out for other peoples belongings when they clean rooms etc., and someone is evidently stealing. Do not leave anything of value lying around. The other thing we had MAJOR issues with was the medical staff keeping the things on Moms legs that prevent blood clots. The first time, it got to the point where I threatened to call the CEO because even though they knew that there was a problem with the devices that go on Moms legs, they did not attempt to fix that problem, even after repeatedly being told about it. A year later, Mom is back in the hospital, and again, they have been lax in keeping these on her; I had to ask them to put them on her in the first place, then they went back and said--oh yeah the doctor had ordered it--and it had not been done-----all this even after she suffered a blood clot after the first time. Since then I have found a couple of times that they have not put them back on her when they should be. The staff has been friendly overall this time, but it still is difficult when you feel that family members have to police the medical staff on doing what they should be doing.

Well i came in today because im 18 weeks pregnant and im experiencing a severe cramping that feels like labor contractions and my blood pressure is high. Since ive been here there was a woman who was brought in by ambulance due to chest pains and not being able to breath. Well since the ER was full they rolled her out to the waiting room where she sat for almost an hour before they could get her back... even though they let numerous others go back while she sat waiting. She hadnt been back there for thirty minutes before we heard her daughters screaming and crying. The woman had died before the dr even got to her. Now how sad is that? Really makes me wonder if i should even keep waiting to be seen. Ive already been waiting for 5 and a half hours. And a girl who came in after me had the same issue but she got called back there about an hour ago and she wasnt even sure if she was really pregnant. Now my back has started hurting. I seriously feel like im in labor. This sucks. If they didnt have this IV needle thing in my arm i would leave but i dont wanna risk my childs life by leaving and not being checked out.

I brought my 5 month old son to sparks ER this morning because his ears were oozing yellow and green , and you couldnt touch the side of his face without him screaming so hard he stopped breathing. Michelle Horan poked at his ear and made him cry , then proceeded to tell me that nothing was wrong with him. She implied that he may be fussy because Im not feeding him. After she left the room his ears started oozing more. So I requested that she come back in and look again. She insisted the 2ND time that there was nothing wrong and that the YELLOW AND GREEN DISCHARGE WAS SPIT. I asked her why it hurt then ? She said "well you can poke him anywhere and of course he will cry". She said I was welcome to get a second opinion somewhere else. I DID. And 5 hours later my son was diagnosed with a double ear infection, and I was told the swelling in his ear had almost caused it to close completely. Tell me how she can look in his ears twice and insist that he didnt have an ear infection ?! SEND HER BACK TO SCHOOL.

Had a procedure done there. The staff was great and everyone did a tremendous job. Then came billing. They didnt have on file that I had insurance even though I presented it both before AND at the time I arrived. I payed in full ahead of the procedure and have now had to fax twice, to two different groups, the proof of that payment. Almost $1,000 came out of my account and just got lost. I was also told on the phone ahead of time that if I payed on the phone before I got there that I could get a discount (around 20% for pre-paying.) I asked if I could pay the day of and they said I would not get the discount. I payed and found out when I arrived that was false. The girl on the phone said that so that she could get credit for a contest they were having to see who could collect the most up front money. In summary the medical staff is great but if you go there make sure you get everything in writing and signed. Unfortunately you cant trust their billing staffs organization or trustworthiness.

My father has been there twice in the last two days. He has an abscess on his neck that is really painful. The nursing home gave him a sedative before we took him so he wouldnt get agitated while we were there. It wore off. He kept trying to remove the IV. We asked for help. My mother was informed that they had other patients. We had not been bothering them to this point. Finally, I had my mother call his nurse at the nursing home. The nurse from the nursing home spoke with the nurse at Sparks. The Sparks RN gave him another sedative. They were incredibly rude from that point on. Nothing further was done except for a prescription. I asked for a wheelchair to take him out with. The same nurse pushed him to the door and turned around and walked off. No one even helped me get him in the car. He couldnt even stand on his own. Wouldnt have even rated them 1 star if it would let me post without it.
