To Whom This May Concern, On April 12th, 2015 I experienced what I feel is a terrible disservice. I want to apologize in advance for those professionals not associated to my experience and hope that no one else ever experiences what I did. I dont think Ive ever experienced a lesser quality of humanism or compassion for human life; and that doesnt even begin to cover the significantly deficient medical system this location attempts to call a hospital. The quality of customer service and patient care is absolutely abysmal. Today, my brother and his wife had an ultrasound performed at a clinic which ruled the fetus had no heartbeat. Fearing the worst they rushed to the hospital to seek expert care and instead received a joke of what this location calls "patient care." When I called the hospital and after being transferred 9 times, I finally spoke to a clerk. I explained the situation and asked for an update on whether or not my brother was nearing admittance the clerk responded "were busy." Realizing that his ignorance and apathetic position would not reach me to a meaningful response, I requested to be transferred to his superior where I surely would expect a direct and professional answer. I was mistaken. Instead, I received a long winded composition of words which posed significantly less aid than the previous person. Some of which were, "Im not sure what you want me to do?", "Why didnt you call 911 and have them transferred? Did you not think it was an emergency?", "Why did someone transfer this person to me? I dont even know this guy.", and last but not least "Im inside the hospital, theyre in the waiting room. I cant do anything." Im not entirely sure how the hospital is run, but if its any indication by which the Emergency Room operates, Id expect nothing less than a significantly deficient medical staff that aims at clocking in and out every day to perform a service; a significantly lacking one at that. My experience may be biased and I may have reached the hospital at a wrong time, I mean who knows maybe working on a weekend "really cramped their style." I know that working in the hospital and dedicating your life in service to heal and mend others is extremely difficult; I have nothing but absolute respect for medical professionals. I believe that those who wear that badge should be proud; however, Im disgusted by the medical staff that I interacted with. I hope that someone with the power to change something within this location finds this review and finds the recorded conversations that I had with those employees and takes action. The best part of this is that I dont feel the service could be any worse, leaving only opportunity for improvement.

I was admitted for stroke symptoms like & according to the MRI I had a spasm problem that was causing me to have these episodes of a supposedly "stroke", whole left side numb (cervical degenerative disc disease) Not gonna specify the certain dates but the 3rd day of recovering from everything, I was getting discharged & right before the doctor was gonna send me home it happened again only the symptoms lasted an 1hour & 15mins. When it happened again, my nurse seen it for herself & immediately told the doctor to have the neurologist come in to see what was going on..I was left in the most uncomfortable position for 10-20mins, my doctor- Dr.Lin couldnt even tell my family what was the cause. He pinned it as " stress" because in my profile 10months ago I had post partum depression after I gave birth to my child where my doctor offered me to see a psychiatrists & not once I had a meeting with a psychiatrists. When I got discharged the 2nd time after it happened, I was so happy to finally go home. As soon as I got home I had another episode only this time I felt the sharp tingling pain shooting up my neck my husband & sister rushed me to memorial..got to LB Memorial where the ct scan was normal as it was at Kaiser. LB Memorial hospital was gonna run a spinal tap (what kaiser didnt do) but unfortunately Kaiser denied them to do anything on me. A neurologist was ready to see me FACE TO FACE and not as an consult through phone like Kaiser did. Im upset at the fact these doctors are eager to get rid of patients fast. I wasnt 100% I lost my strength in my left leg, my speech was slurred I needed physical, occupational & speech therapy & all the answers my family & I got was "we dont know whats wrong with her, or whats causing these episodes of " stroke-symptoms like" but were gonna pin this to as "stress". Until this day, I still have this sharp pain I feel in my neck, only thing that helps to ease the pin is laying down. My nurses treated me well, just didnt feel like doctor cared enough about my situation since it happened 3xs within that week. Thanks Kaiser, but no thank you to your service I will be moving to a new insurance. Cant wait to take the survey, you guys need a lot of improvement!

Kaiser doctors and nurses are wonderful, excellent, treat you very well, but when it comes to waiting to seeing a doctor, I made the mistake of telling them I believe i had taken too many cherries, you need to give them what you think you might have, plus it takes so long to get to see a doctor, it can be 7 to 8 hours. they keep saying your next and if you leave like I did, you come back again and you will have another 8 hour wait, plus if you realize your in bad shape, you have apendicitis like I did, they have no idea what they are telling you and will make things up and tell you if you would like to go home. I didnt have bad symptoms because I was not dying, many people die from this if it ruptures, well, mine did rupture but still i was not sweating, or huge pain, the idiot working there told me to go home if I wanted to. I waited and by a miracle they had compassion on me, and let me see a doctor. Keep in mind, I never go to kaiser for any reason other than when its a emergency and they have tons of regulars who are their every weekend, because they dont follow doctors orders. Once I got to see a doctor everything was great, the C scan found my problem, they didnt have enough doctors to operate on me at that moment, but they called a on call group who did a wonderful job, the operation was 5 hours later. Kaiser needs to do something about this , when someone never uses their services and really needs them, you need to know where you can go and get the help you need, I dont mind driving to Irvine or where ever. You cant turn people away but so many dont follow doctor directions or the doctor causes the problem by giving them the pills they dont need, this is common at kaiser. They asked me if i wanted very strong pain relievers that could addict me for life. Or get pills that will help me go to the bathroom, when the antibiotics already cause diaria. Plus later the pharmacy takes your paper work that is important for you and doesnt give it back, you call back and they cant find your records, your number doesnt exist. Kaiser has done great job for my parents and for me, yet this is some of the problems they have to fix and if i have to go far away to fix them i will.
