Dr. Paz may be a competent doctor. However, his relaxed attitude toward cancer is distressing when you are the one with cancer. If you find you have skin cancer, as I recently did, you will be VERY eager to have it removed. Dr. Paz took a biopsy of my cancer. He said he would send it out to the lab and call me in a couple of weeks with the lab results. I later found that he actually evaluates tissue samples himself. He waits a long time to tell you his finding so you will THINK that he is sending samples out to a lab somewhere far away. He is certified to do his own lab work, so he isn’t doing anything unethical. But lying about it is wrong, and the unnecessary delay could threaten your life. He got back to me in eleven days, said I did have cancer, and scheduled a visit to remove it in ten more days. When the time finally came, he circled the cancer with ink where he was going to cut. Then he asked me why my general practitioner had called him the day before, asking for a copy of the lab report. I told him I had gone to see her, mentioned the cancer, and that she just wanted to look at the lab report. He seemed upset at having another physician involved in my case, and very upset that she had found out he was doing his own lab work. He told me he would not remove my cancer that day after all, because he was now going to really send the biopsy to an outside lab so I could have a second opinion. I responded that I was extremely eager to be rid of the cancer, and begged him to remove it. What conceivable second opinion would make me want to keep a cancer on my body? But he insisted, and just walked out of the room, telling his assistant to clean the ink off me. His assistant put alcohol on a cotton pad and started to scrub really hard to get the ink off. I quickly stopped her. But she had already scrubbed so hard, not just where there was ink, but right across the cancerous growth, that a blister formed there within a few hours. It’s easy to imagine that she could have loosened some cancer cells by being so rough, cells that might then end up in my bloodstream or lymph system. They could be transported elsewhere and start new cancers. I feel my life is in danger because of what she did. It was absolutely outrageous. I found another dermatologist who removed the cancer a few days later. I told Dr. Paz I was not coming back to him and that I might share my experience online. He then had the gall to call my general practitioner and try to turn her against me. He told her that I had threatened him, and that I had told him she was to blame for causing trouble between us. My only threat was that I might say truthful things about him online, and I certainly did not blame my GP in any significant way for Dr. Paz’s actions or lack of action. Dr. Paz is probably technically competent. But technical competence is wasted when you are cold-hearted, dishonest, vindictive, and you cause weeks of unnecessary delay in removing a fast-growing cancer. When your assistant has a life-threatening lack of either knowledge or common sense, that is all the worse.

My experience under Mrs. Pazs care wasnt anything to complain about, but neither have my experiences been decent enough to ever say that I was treated with care. My second experience where I came in to consult my scars however (under the care of someone else) was worse and fully exposes the defrauding nature of the persons running this business. If you want to feel at home here, well... dont expect such. Whether employer or employee, the staff here are passive and dishonest; they will try their best to take your time, your money or both. Another reviewer by the name of Muir Matteson goes into detail about the psychopathic cold-hearted behavior and attitude that is encouraged here in this "Fresno Dermatology Specialists" business. I had been here once and was on accutane (a rather normal experience). Many months later, I came to consult about my scars. It was strange that I was forced to pay $80 this time before I met with a doctor, as I usually pay afterwards, not prior. So I asked "Why am I paying $80?" And the answer that I got was that it was the continuation of my appointments (when I was on accutane). A blatant lie; they knew that I was there for a different problem. I figured it was fine since Id be here for consultation and Id find a solution... But you know what? A solution was not what they had for me. The reply I got was something along the lines of "We dont have any laser products/equipment." It clicked to me at that very moment why I was charged before I met with a doctor rather than after. What was the service that I was paying for / recieved? There wasnt a service. It was just another instance of the rich milking the poor just because they can. In the end, I was referred to a different doctor as that doctors facility had laser treatments. I dont mean to bombard this doctor with customers interested in good (and existent) service, but I think it would be kind of me to save the $80 of peoples wallets instead of having a doctor force you to pay that amount just to tell you. Her name is Dr Behr; and this concludes my review.

After a horrible experience last year at a dermatologist I had decided to just live with my psoriasis. I few days ago I had a horrible flare up and could no longer stand it. I asked a coworker who they went to and was given the number to Dr. Paz. I called Monday and got a appointment for today! Wow. Super friendly staff, perfect clean room! And I wasnt treated like a leper with a horrid afliction! Hopefully Im lucky and the meds work. But overall really impressed with my first visit.

I did not have a pleasant experience. He was very unfriendly and spoke to me in a hurry and almost out the door while speaking to me. No bed side manner in any way. I felt as if I was bothering him more than anything. I would never go back or recommend him to anyone. Staff was nice but I hope I never see him again. Wasted my time and money.

My experience with Dr. Paz and his staff has been very positive. His staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Paz is thorough, easy to communicate with and offered options to treat my condition. He and his staff are always available and helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone with skin/dermatology issues.

I was referred to Dr. Paz in regards to a bump on me ear. Instead of working on my ear, he elected to work on my nose. As a result, I still have the bump on my ear and an ugly depression on one side of my nose. I suspect that the nose surgery was probably more profitable for him than a surgery on my ear.

New patient with Dr.Paz at his Visalia office & had a nice, quick experience. Got rid of several skin tags on my neck that I had been self conscious about for years. He gave me options as to how he could remove them & I chose the least painful. Staff was very nice too.
