I was so grateful to find Alpen Veterinary Hospital. The whole process from scheduling an appointment, to the visit, and check ups were great. The staff there was so kind and helpful to me. I was really concerned about my dogs new behavior that he was exhibiting and Dr. TeSlaa took the time to answer all of my questions and address my concerns. He was very patient with us and I never felt rushed during my dogs examination. I felt as though he was genuinely concerned for the welfare of my dog. I have lived all over the country with my dogs, and it was nice to finally have an office visit with a Veterinarian who truly cared. My dog ended up having blood work run, among an x-ray and an EKG. The minute the blood results came in, I received an email from Dr. TeSlaa explaining his observations and where I should go from there. I greatly appreciated all of his help. I was also very happy that he wrote me prescriptions for my dogs medications and gave me his x-rays at no extra cost, since I was going to be moving from the area soon. Unfortunately after this, a couple of weeks later, I awoke to find my dog stumbling around and unable to walk properly. I was afraid that something was terribly wrong and called Dr. TeSlaas cell phone. He immediately picked up and was able to get us in within a half hour. He was once again very helpful and made more suggestions to get my dog back on track. I was greatly appreciative of his professional emergency care. I will be definitely using Alpen Veterinary Hospital again, should I return to Mammoth. (I also greatly appreciated the "New Client Discount", which the other Vet in town does not offer) Thanks Alpen Veterinary Hospital!

We were pleased with the service received. We were able to schedule an appointment with then right away. The staff was pleasant and helpful. They took the time to understand our dogs issues answered our questions. Diagnosed her condition and help us understand our pets situation and what treatment options were available. He didnt push more expensive treatment options since she is old and we didnt want to put her through invasive procedures but wanted to remaining life to be comfortable. Their follow up was excellent. We received an email the next day summarizing the diagnosis, treatment, instruction to administer medications and the followup actions required to bring back to good health. Our pets health has never been better! She is thriving and doing great! We couldnt be happier!

Dr. Tesla is fantastic. I spend my summers in Mammoth and for the past 5 years have been going to Alpen Veterinary Hospital. He is my regular vet for all my pets, 2 dogs and a very old cat, even though I live in the Bay Area and have access to many vets. I use Dr. Tessa for their regular check ups and any emergencies or care they need when we are in Mammoth. He does all their treatment with me in the room, discusses options with me, and consults with the vets I use in the Bay Area. I am so grateful for the superb treatment my animals have received under his care. S. Grant

We were vacationing in Mammoth Lakes and my dog got very sick and we had to take her in for the Dr. to see. After a call they were able to see her pretty quickly and I am happy to say that the vet and his staff were very kind, helpful and did a superb job on taking care of my dog. I was told to take her in a couple of weeks to my regular vet and afterthey checked her out she came out with a good health check and were very positive with the care she was given by Alpen Vet Hospital. Based on my experience I would recommend them!

Dr. TeSlaa and Sarah provided excellent medical analysis and care for our sick 8 year old Vizsla. With their treatment and recommended medications she was back to normal in just a few days. They saw us right away and provided in-office lab work, detailed medical insights and care recommendations around our dogs illness. We recommend their practice for locals and visitors to the Mammoth Lakes area alike. Its good to know we have competent, caring veterinary care available from Dr. TeSlaa & staff when traveling away from home.

Dr. TeSlaa transformed the life of our dog, "Shadow." Shadow had been ill for many months with intestinal issues culminating in a traumatic event. Dr. TeSlaa opened the clinic on a Sunday to help us & spent abundant time thoroughly examining Shadow. In addition to dealing with the immediate problem, he suggested we start long-term treatment with probiotics. Since then, Shadows life was transformed. Its been 2 years and, at age 14, Shadow is thriving. Many thanks to Dr. TeSlaa for his dedication and wisdom.

Dr. T has been my Vet for Angel her entire 12.5 years of life. Dr. T has replaced both her knees and they have lasted 8 and 6 years with no problems. his care during her recent stroke and the medication that he prescribed to help her regain awareness and energy was spot on and brought her back to being the lively dog we have always known. in her later years she has slowed a bit but the heart is big and she always enjoys going to see her Vet. We are so fortunate to have found Dr. TeSlaa to care for our beagle Sophie when we are staying at our place in Mammoth Lakes !! He is kind and compassionate and an outstanding vet ! He keeps you informed about test results, treatment options and costs. His fees are very reasonable and are discussed in advance . He has saved Sophies life twice, and in doing so met us at his clinic outside of office hours for ttreatment. I highly recommend Dr. TeSlaa at Alpen Veterinary Clinic. 5 Paws up !!!!

Dr. T - This man is AMAZING! We couldnt have asked for a better Vet to take our Doggy!! Our little guy had a terrible accident while vising Mammoth in the Summer..were out of towners so we freaked! We contacted Dr. T after hours on his cell.. he quickly dropped what he was doing and met with us at his office! Our Boy is doing well and Dr. Teslaa- We are still so thankful you were there for us!! I just moved to Mammoth Lakes with my darling 4-year-old Teddy --a Poodle mix-- and wanted to find the best Vet for his health care. The first 3 people I met with dogs didnt hesitate -- Dr. TeSlaa! Two days later, I noticed Teddys right paw was bothering him. The next day we were at the Alpen Veterinary hospital and met the wonderful & caring Dr.TeSlaa who took exceptional care of Teddy! What a great relief to know Teddy has a great Vet!

Our beloved family dog became severely ill while we were on vacation in Mammoth. Dr Teslaa answered the phone immediately and came in off-hours to help us. He promptly began treatment of the symptoms and bloodwork to diagnose the issue and our dog was feeling much better after an overnight stay. We are so grateful that he was able to receive such compassionate and excellent care while we were away from home.
