Quality of care very poor. Do not see Dr. Lou. I went for a regular cleaning, x-rays, and exam. Hygenist was very conversational but lacking in clinical skills when cleaning my teeth. She appeared to do the minimal necessary to lead me to believe my teeth were being cleaned (i.e., floss not fully down between my teeth, cleaned only some areas of plaque, and did not get into areas that are more difficult to clean, did not accurately perochart my teeth as Ive had it done before). It got worse when the dentist, Dr. Lou came in. She has an incredibly poor bedside manner. She sat behind me the entire time and I had to completely turn around in my chair while she looked at my x-rays. When I turned to face her and look at them with her, she turned her back to me. She stated, "You have nice teeth" and then went on to tell me I had seven cavities and told me it was because I didnt brush or floss (which was not the case at all for me. I go to the dentist every 6 months and do brush and floss everyday). When I asked her to explain and point out on the x-rays my cavities, she said "Its simply black and white. This is a no brainer. You need to get them filled." I attempted to ask what she saw and why so again, she grew irritated with me, gave me an attitude. And then she changed the locations of the cavities. I tried to clarify the areas she was talking about. She then changed the number of cavities I had and told me I dont take care of my teeth. She continued to show her irritation and said I would need significant dental work done if I didnt get the cavities fixed as soon as possible. She could not explain what the significant dental work would be. Do not go to dr Lou, her staff is very bad, and she only cares about the money. I would give zero if yelp allows that option

Reviewing the prior reviews, Im wondering if this is about a different dentist/dental practice: 1. The environment is very pleasant with no "dental office" odors. 2. The hygienist I had today (Friday) was very competent, used the cavitron (which was a first for me), and was able to locate needed dental work before reviewing the chart. 3. The x-rays are the 3D version and easy to identify/explain things. 4. The dentist is a very competent clinician, and spends time explaining the list of things to be resolved. Each item is also weighted in terms of importance. There is also an effort to do the minimal work (ie a filling first and maybe a crown down the road), vs going straight for the crown. I think the key with dentistry is at some point the patient (in this case, me) has to take more responsibility for the outcome. Its up to me to perform appropriate dental hygiene, to understand what the various procedures are (in other words, take up more time of the dentist if need be), to keep up-to-date with cleanings and dental work, and to make the ultimate decision to stay with the dentist or not. Dental hygienists are a great source of information on preventive care, if you actually engage with and listen to them.

Worst dental experience of my life- was informed I had 4-6 cavities but was not shown the X-rays or given any other information. They tried to schedule an apt the next day to do all the fillings but when I said I would like an estimate for the cost because I am a poor recent graduate all of a sudden they were not in a hurry. Got a second opinion and not only did I not have a single cavity, the X-rays werent complete!! Some of the teeth I supposedly had cavities in werent on the X-ray and she looked in my mouth for <30 seconds. Incompetence crossed with greed crossed with straight up bad people.

Ahn Thi (sorry if I spelled her name wrong) was so pleasant and efficient. She is always very friendly, professional, and helpful. I had a wonderful experience. Everyone on staff is very friendly! Dr. Pedraza always has a very upbeat and positive attitude.

I absolutely love Dr. Pedraza and her team! She cares about her patients and takes the time to get to know them. I drive from Sacramento, CA just to see her.
