If I could give Market Street Vet ZERO stars, I would. Ive taken both of my dogs to Market Street for the past 3 years... I have spent thousands in vet visits, appointments, medication... only to be treated like dirt. I brought my 1 year old puppy in because she had a lump on her leg. First they told me they would do a biopsy. The service actually provided was a FNA (Fine Need Aspiration) - despite telling us they were doing a biopsy. I paid $190 for a FNA, which is really high compared to other vet clinics, but I trusted Market Street, so I just paid it. We waited 4 days for our results, and had to call in numerous times to even get an update. Every time I called in I was told a different story.. the results werent in yet, or they were but the vet was busy. No one seemed like they knew what was going on. Finally the vet called back and the only thing she could tell us was the test was inconclusive due to an inadequate sample. We paid $190 for a test that cant even provide a "yes" or a "no". We were told we would have to pay to have it done again, or pay to have it removed (which would be significantly more in cost). So basically, we paid $190 for a service - got NO results due to an inadequate sample, and were told we would have to pay it again if we wanted any answers. (And that wasnt even a guarantee). I have never been treated so poor ever. From day one, I knew Market Street was a more expensive vet, but I didnt mind because I love my dogs, and I trusted that Market Street was a knowledgeable facility. But to spend $190 for "we dont know" and be told the only option is to just pay them more?!?! Its ridiculous. So now we are looking up new vets and will have to pay to start the process all over somewhere else.

Wow. I have to say I am extremely disappointed. Danielle at the front desk must have been having a bad day. My pup needed surgery and I called to ask the Dr. some questions about it. Ive been a loyal customer to these guys for years and it was weird, because I was paying so much (they basically charge you for an exam every single time you have so much as a question about your pet. They are insenstive and maybe its their way of getting more money out of you, I dont know) Anyway, i literally just had a question about something, and since Ive been going there for so long and they know my dog (or so i thought!!), I wanted to get their advice on something. Danielle snapped at me and told me the Drs were all busy and that someone might get back to me today or tomorrow. When I told it was just a simple question she replied to me that I should come in for an exam if I was that worried about my dog. My dog was just in there a month ago when i spent over 1100,00, so there is no need for another exam. I just had a serious question about my poor dog. This is not a place i will ever go back to again. Maybe to them they just lost one client, so it wont matter, but just beware before taking your pet in here. Ridiculous.

Market Street Vet has been our go-to vet clinic for the past 4 years. Weve taken our 3 dogs here for everything from routine physicals, vaccines, illnesses, and first exam for our new kitten. Market Street front desk, doctors and staff are always kind, prompt and treat our pets with great care. The front desk is always helpful and even preps our insurance forms and sends for us when requested- such a big help! When we brought our sweet 15 year old Chow Chow here on his final day the doctors were kind and let us spend as much time with him as we liked. We were thankful he was in such good hands and went peacefully. When a new vet clinic opened up a couple of blocks from our house that we thought would be more convenient we started going there but went right back to Market Street once we realized that their service and care couldnt be beat. We appreciate the high quality care our babies get here and weve never felt theyve tried to over charge or force additional treatment or meds. Highly recommend!

My husband and I were visiting San Diego from out of state, when we became worried about our terrier mix Mugz, who suddenly seemed to be having some type of gastric upset-lethargic, loss of appetite, etc. We checked various reviews on line, and decided to call VCA Market Street Animal Hospital--wow--we made the right choice!! They were able to see him right away, very friendly staff, not much of a wait time, -and even reasonably priced!! Mugzy it turned out was fine (after antiobiotics, and probiotics) we were so impressed with everything about VCA Market Street Animal Hospital --even received follow up calls checking on Mugz to see how he was doing!! We would highly recommend VCA Market Street Animal Hospital for all your pet needs--they were amazing!!

I just moved close to this vet, figured it would be acceptable. I had my dogs chart sent over, and ask if someone would call me when the chart arrives to see if my dog needed any shots coming up. No call. Just went it today to get some eye gel for my dog, that he has gotten before and desperately needs. The insensitive front desk lady said there was nothing she could do. She also tried to claim that if no one called me back they never received my dogs charts. Guess what, they did indeed get the chart, they just couldnt follow through with any sort of customer service. Ive been to some poorly run vets in my life. This is by far the worst ... DONT GO THERE

Dr. Dorian took care of our dog toward the end of her life and I could not be happier with how caring and informative he was regarding the health issues going on with my pet. Unfortunately, my dog needed to be eventually put down (at age 15!!) and he did an absolutely amazing job at going through the process in a professional, caring and effective manner. Our pet did not suffer one bit and though I bawled my eyes out, his compassion did not go unnoticed!! I wish I had known him earlier in the life of my dog but now I know where Ill be taking my next one!!! Also, his staff are comprised of really nice and helpful individuals. Id definitely recommend MSVC.

I took my tortie Little Cuties to her first vet visit with me! I was a little flustered because Id ridden nearly a half hour on the bus with a friend who accompanied us and was hoping Little Cuties wouldnt completely freak out. This is my first time owning a pet and I had a lot of questions right off the bat once we finally reached the clinic. Everywhere from the receptionists to the nurse to the vet who all helped me, I was just really impressed with their friendliness and professionalism. They were very gentle with my cat. Their prices are fair although I have nothing to compare them to. I would recommend this place to anyone. Fo sho! :)
