Initially, I was very worried about bringing my cat to a vet, as Id heard rumors that some vets in Vegas will sneak in extra charges and unnecessary procedures, and I had just moved from Utah. My cat, Sheldon, had begun shredding furniture and carpet, and no amount of filing, claw caps, tin foil, and training was helping. We decided to have him declawed, and after much research, we brought him here. I couldnt be more happy with the service Sheldon and I received. I scheduled an appointment, and the attendants at the office were incredibly friendly and kind. We were seen shortly after arriving, everything on time and on schedule, and the vet was happy to explain everything we needed to know about the procedure, and also happily acknowledged my own research and understanding for clarification. I was well informed about everything that needed to happen, including care post-surgery. The surgery went very well, and they kept Sheldon for two days to follow up on his treatment and ensure he was recovering well. I was called daily regarding his status, and updated with everything that happened. Incredible! When we came to pick Sheldon up, the ladies at the office recognized not only me, but my boyfriend by name, and we were quickly reunited. Sheldon made a rapid recovery, and we brought him in for a follow up appointment to make sure that the stitches had kept everything closed up and healthy. I was shocked at how cheap the procedure was compared to the research Id done and expected, and to top it off, the follow up appointment had no fee. If you have a pet that needs care, this is the best place around, even topping the care I received at various clinics in Utah. Procedures are cheap and fair, youre kept in the loop, and your pet is watched over by genuinely caring eyes. You will not regret it!

We have three rescue cats, and as requested by the shelter we have taken every one of them to the vet shortly after adoption for a check up. We met Dr Collins on one of these visits, and were very glad we did- In 2012, the second love of my husbands life, our cat Pita, started showing signs of being sick. We took her into see Dr Collins assuming it was a cold, and turns out it was a liver problem. (NOTE: If you have a house cat, watch out for how much they eat- overweight cats are more prone to hempatic lipadosis, a treatable but serious liver disease). It broke our hearts and for nearly three months Dr Collins had to help us get her healthy again while managing our hopes with reality. We were broken hearted, and it showed. Through the care at Island Pet Hospital and the patience of Dr Collins and all the staff, we got Pita back to healthy again, and she is alive and well. Yes, it was expensive. Yes, it was very labor intensive, as the type of disease she had required feedings and treatment every 2 hours. But, when we were going through "ruling out" testing, knowing wed pay for several tests and Pita could still not make it, a friend said this to me "You just have to ask yourself what can you live with. Me, I could live with the bills, but I could never live with not knowing I did all I could." And she was right- money comes and money goes, but we could never live with ourselves if we didnt give Pita every fighting chance. I dont have much experience with vet bills as our three cats are the first pets Ive ever owned, but I can tell you that Dr Collins is worth every penny, and our trio of felines are worth it, too. Thanks Dr Collins for helping us save Pitas life!

This review is about Dr Watson, support staff, and Island Pet Hospital in general. I have never seen Dr Goldman and I only unofficially met Dr Collins while weighing my Doberman. I can say Dr Collins was very friendly to both me and my dog. All the support staff has been friendly and professional that I have interacted with. Dr Watson has seen 2 of my dogs on multiple visits. First one she helped me though was the trauma of my Doberman being diagnosed with tumors around his heart. She was very compassionate yet realistic explaining my options for treatment. I had to make very difficult decisions but Dr Watson and the staff were very supportive, helpful and understanding. She helped me with all his final needs including taking care of his remains. I was pleased with the cremation company that they use. The company can do individual cremations for more money (otherwise it wont just be my dog) and included keepsakes like my dogs paw print. Dr Watson first saw my Border CollieX because of a lump. I felt it was affordable and appropriate steps to determine what it the lump was. No unnecessary test/costs but not skimping on what was needed. She also tactfully addressed that he was overweight which do to his hair and seeing him everyday I was some how oblivious to. He has since lost 5+lbs and he seems to feel better/more energy! Second visit was for dental cleaning which I also found to be affordable especially given my dogs size but not compromising quality of care. Overall Im very happy I found Island Pet Hospital. I feel like I can trust their expertise, compassion and prices.

Throughout the years, my husband and i have been to different vets in town and never liked any of them as much as we like coming to the Island! We started coming here last year with our 4 dogs and 4 cats because were moving to Hawaii and needed to begin the process to take them all on our journey! First of all, the staff is great and appear to pass no judgment on us or our large pack - this is a rare experience for us. Dr. Hagewood and nurses has been with us every step since the beginning and we now are in the "waiting game" point of the process to be able to move with the furbabies - she has been absolutely wonderful! Today we had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Watson who helped us understand what was happening with one of our babies that is unfortunately ill and she has helped us with a treatment plan to get her feeling a little better. Bottom line is that we feel the staff at IPH genuinely cares about our animals and their humans, they are very informative without being intimidating, and theyre very understanding of our different circumstances! Yeaaaaah were never tooooo happy about the final bills, but hey we have 8 animals and the services needed are costly no matter where we go, but at IPH they have worked with us and we certainly appreciate any help we can get. Needless to say, we will be taking our herd to IPH until we leave the mainland and will be recommending this place to anyone, especially if they are going through a similar process! Thanks again to everyone at the Island! Sheekee, KoKo, Synnie, Ceasar, Rebbles, Cheddars, Bandit, and Smokee...oh yeah, and Barry and Danielle
