IF YOU WANT A VET WHO PUTS CARE FIRST, DO NOT USE THIS VET! We took a healthy 20-week-old kitten to Stenner Creek A.H. to be neutered. The following days he displayed a lack of appetite, thirst & energy. Worsened, he felt hot and shivered. Took him back for a follow up. Before Dr. came into exam room, staff member (RVT Erin) rudely queried, "how much can we pay today". I asked, "How much could we be looking at?" answered my question by repeating her question again. I gave a figure and stated that this was inappropriate timing for this conversation. I felt at the time if I had said $500, fees would be $500; if I had said $700, fees would be $700. Dr. Examined the kitten, diagnosis was that kitten had a bite infection. Course of action would be an antibiotic injection with subcutaneous fluid. Afterwards the Dr. said if he is not getting better in 36 hours to call him right away. He did not get better; we called to arrange a follow up. The Drs. RVT "Erin" told us that the Dr. would not see our kitten until our balance was paid. She was rude to my wife and to me. Anytime we tried to ask a question she would interrupt and talk over us. My wife and I tried to have a rational conversation with this woman, however she just would not allow that to be. We asked to speak to the Dr. that was not an option; we inquired if she was the office manager, she replied “one of them.” I asked, “Is this direction of the Dr.” she replied, “Yes”. I felt I was lied to and that I wouldn’t be able to talk to the Dr. We ended the phone call with her promise to return our call. She never did. Erins focus was on money, not the fact that our kitten may be ill, in pain or even die. Over the last 30 days we had paid 100% of costs to vaccinate two animals, neuter one with a follow up visit. We had put aside the funds to spay our female kitten in just a couple days and even had an appointment scheduled, over $500 in fees. Including an additional $10 toward the outstanding balance. True we had an outstanding balance of $280 from previous animal care the Dr. had provided. We had been making monthly payments. Due to unemployment, I hadnt made a payment in several months. However I had full intentions too do so. His front office staff was aware of this and told us that a $10 to $20 a month payment would be fine, it wouldnt be a problem. We inquired about this in advance and made sure before scheduling any new appointments. Subsequently went to a different vet. They were kind, compassionate & caring. Conducted blood test there at their facility and determined the issue. They gave him intravenous antibiotics and sent us home with an oral antibiotic. It’s been 12 hours and he has returned to almost normal.

I went there when I first got my puppy and she was showing signs of trying to throw up but nothing would come out. I was so scared and it was after hours but I took her in anyways. Well it was $90 just to get the vet to the office, then he did insanely needless tests like parvo, only to conclude that she had kennel cough... Kennel cough is extremely common and does not even need medication. $350 later, I was broke but my puppy was fine. Then I took her there because her stool was really runny, well over 4 months he de-wormed her again, made me take in a stool sample, gave her 4 different antibiotics, made me buy expensive food, and finally I stopped all of it because nothing was working. Literally $1,000s of dollars later, I just stopped all of it and put her on food that was easy to digest, and she hasnt had a problem since. Then I stupidly thought to get her spayed there. Well they quoted me for more than $400 for my puppy to get spayed!!!! I called another vet and asked what some of the things they had estimated me for and she said that they were trying to give her a blood test which is only needed for old dogs (mine was 6 months old), medication to help regulate the heart which is only needed for old dogs, and they wanted to extract her baby teeth which is only needed for small dogs. Needless to say I never went back and these people and would warn anyone from going again!! All he does is try and take your money!

I have been there for both the vaccination clinic and for an appointment during the week. Dr. OReilly is very compassionate about animals and their welfare. He was able to spend as much time needed understanding my pets problem and finding the right diagnosis for it. The technicians there handled my pet very well as she can be skittish at time, but when they were handling her she wasnt afraid or anything. She felt very safe and calm. Occasionally you do have to wait before being seen by the doctor, but I always figure its because the doctor doesnt want to rush his time with another pet. Just make sure you dont have anything else going on immediately after your appointment. The vaccination clinic is great for me due to cost concerns. Although there can be a wait at times, the technicians go as quickly as possible, but not too fast to miss anything wrong. One time I didnt even know my pet had a lump, but they found it while doing vaccines during the clinic. Luckily it was just a fatty lump so no worries! This is such a great place to go to. You can tell there is lots of love and care that goes on there. Their cost is well worth it for the care that your pet receives and in reality I called around before going to Stenner for our first visit and theyre not the most expensive place in town. They are definitely reasonably priced.

I was given a free vet visit for adopting my dog but it had to be in the first 72hours. I had to go to this vet due to all the other ones having no openings for 2 days. should have known to wait given the fact i got in to this one immediately. The doctor although knowledgeable about the problems did not seem like he wanted to be there. He also gave me 2 pills that would have cost me 22 dollars from a store or online for $44.84 and never told me i could have another payment option outside the vet, not everyone is getting money from mommy and daddy, kids our age do earn there own money and do not like to be taken, he also had to do a simple anal gland procedure that I later found out is done for half the price everywhere else i talked to. I ended up leaving the vets office with a 65.39 dollar free vet visit. They will assess your pets problem and in case of emergencies would be a fine place to take your pet to get help but i just dont get the logic of the billing system and lack of communication between you and the doctor. He just does whatever and charges you without throwing any other possibilities your way. I will not be going back!

Dr. OReilly saved our beloved dog Roxy from severe poisoning on New Years Eve. We had never set foot in his office prior to our dog getting sick. We called initially on Friday afternoon and he agreed to take a look at her even as the weekend approached. We chose to take her home that evening after running some tests but at that point we were unsure why she was sick. She continued to get worse over the weekend. We called Dr. OReilly on New Years Eve at 6:00 p.m. as our dog was on the verge of dying. He agreed to meet us at his office right away. He stayed with her and treated her for internal bleeding due to poisoning. Had she not been treated that night she would have died. We are so thankful to Dr. OReilly and his staff for saving her life. I would highly recommend Stenner Creek Animal Hospital.
