I understand the disbelief that Samuel Hernandez expressed. Dentists that know when NOT to do a procedure or NOT just take the money are becoming exceedingly rare. However, Dr. Barsoum is that kind of old school caring dentist. 1.) Both visits cost me nothing. 2.) He emailed me the FREE pano vision x-rays he took that day so I could take them to any one else I chose. 3.) He referred me to a MD/Dentist he thought could do a better job. Tell me ANY other dentist that does that, and I will go there too. To ease Samuels, or any one elses concerns: Dr. Barsoum is a stunningly considerate and competent dentist. This is the second time I went to him. The first time he referred me to someone else given what I wanted to achieve with an extraction. I was writing a book on microbial infections in the mouth ("Teeth Kill") and I wanted something beyond what he does. He was incredibly gracious and understanding. I find that five years later he is still the same. I doubt you could find a more helpful dentist. He called me both times at night to see that I was alright (even though in each visit I paid him nothing). What other dentist does that? This time I broke a tooth in Thailand biting down on a piece of chicken bone in the Bangkok airport. I emailed pictures of the broken tooth to Dr. Barsoum. He emailed me back immediately and offered to patch it for free until I could decide to do an onlay or crown. Dr. Barsoum sets such a high standard of care that I am confident that it goes much further than most anyones expectations for any professional care giver. I am sure this sounds unbelievable in this day and age, but this dentist understands "connection" better than anyone you could normally find in any setting. He smiled at me, while working on a patient, as I was put in another room to wait for him. This dentist just has exceptionally high emotional intelligence and, I have to add, spiritual maturity. Dr. Barsoum deserves the accolades he is accumulating. It is no fluke. He lives, acts and deserves the highest respect from his patients. Count me as one of them! I probably have the highest expectation that any dentist will ever have to deal with. Dr. Barsoum has no problem meeting that expectation and he will consult with you at whatever level he needs to to help you get what you want and need. Most importantly, he will refer you to someone else, if that is what is called for, and he will NOT do work you do not need. Thats the biggest hurdle in going to any dentist these days. I have zero reservations in recommending this dentist to anyone. I fully understand why Dr. Barsoum gets such good reviews. He diligently earns them. P.S. - I use 3 dentists. Dr. Leepai in Thailand for ultrasonic cleanings ($15) and cavities ($10) and a failed root canal ($100). Dr. Barsoum for general dentistry (fair pricing for crowns and onlays). Dr. Jin Kim in Diamond Bar for "atraumatic extractions" 1.) using a special tool to remove the scuffing during the extraction, 2.) human/bovine bone grafts to offset bone resorption and 3.) platelet rich fibrin using your own stem blood cells to accelerate healing ($1,200). If you dont know what "PRF" means, go to Dr. Barsoum. He doesn’t do unnecessary procedures, he doesn’t over charge and he gives as much help as he possibly can. If you are ever in Thailand, go to Dr. Leepai, he is the most competent I could find there. If you need a specialist, go to Dr. Kim - there is no higher standard, but Samuel to give 1 star for someone you never tried is socially and morally irresponsible. Give him the chance to please you - as he did me.

March 29, 2013......... I went in yesterday for dental surgery...13 extractions. Not one time was I made to feel uncomfortable. My husband was in the room with me. The total amount of time I spent in the chair was maybe 40 minutes. Dr Barsoum and his staff were very organized making the work that needed to be done more efficient. After the numbing wore off, I still had no pain, just tender areas and I was able to sleep. This morning 24 hours later, I am feeling even better...less tenderness. As I said 2 weeks ago, I highly recommend Dr. Barsoum. He is the most caring dentist that I have gone to and I have been to many. I am 61 years old and now with my brand new smile, I feel 20. LOL You owe it to yourself to come see Dr. Barsoum and his staff. This office does NOT overbook, so waiting time is minimal. Even if you havent seen a dentist in years, one visit will put you back on track. Did I mention this dentist is AWESOME? March 12......... The most efficient and caring dentist and dental office I have ever been to. Patients are not rushed in and out NOR made to wait in the waiting area. Dr. Barsoum and ALL of his staff go out of their way to make patients feel comfortable. The office and the work rooms are exceptionally clean, making their work easier and efficient. I have been to other dental offices where I am reclined back and I see stains on the ceiling or on the walls. Not here. When you make an appointment, the doctor calls you to make sure you arent in any pain. After your visit, he calls to make sure you arent in any pain or if you need anything or have any questions. All of Dr. Barsoums staff as well as him are extremely polite, they take time to answer any questions or concerns. I have been to a lot of dentists in the past and Dr. Barsoum is by far the best, caring dentist. His staff make his work easier, anticipating his requests. I am having major dental surgery done and I know I may have some discomfort, but Dr. Barsoum and his staff will do their best to make sure the discomfort will be as little as possible. I have an appointment in 2 weeks for my dental surgery. I HIGHLY recommend this dentist and his staff, whether you are having a filling, an extraction or dental surgery (like myself), Dr. Barsoum and his staff are the ultimate for dental care. Check him out, consultations are free, what do you have to lose? Plus there is a Keurig coffee maker in the waiting room, tons of magazines, nice furniture and there is a flat screen TV on the wall as well as the ceiling in all the rooms. This office does NOT overbook, so waiting time is minimal. Even if you havent seen a dentist in years, one visit will put you back on track. Did I mention this dentist is AWESOME?

Dr. Barsoums dental practice is a "Gold-Standard" model for how ALL businesses in America should be operated. He is the Ritz-Carlton of Dental Practices. From the minute you I walked into his office, I immediately was impressed by his Cheerful & welcoming, front desk staff, very clean & elegant office with a great decor, the comforting symbol of the Holy Cross hanging up on the wall and did I mention how pleasant his staff members were. They werent just putting on a front for new customers like myself, of the dozen or so phone calls that I heard them handle, while on my short wait in the lobby, it was clear that they treat ALL customers, new & or long time clients with the same cheerfulness. Once you get past the lobby, the impressiveness of the office continues inside, there are 2 flat screens at each station, one in front of you and one on the ceiling, not to mention, THEY PROVIDE YOU A MENU OF MOVIES, it really looks like a restaurant menu!!!, from which, you select a movie of choice as well as headphones on so that you can enjoy the movie. Its not over, after a very professional hygienist gives you the rundown of what tasks theyre specifically going to do on your visit, you go through a 360 scan of your mouth, and the X-rays are all digital, so the radiation is minimized, (They dont do the whole, "Bite down and pardon me while I scramble out of the room as youre getting zapped in here routine" ....they actually stay in the room, while you do your high-tech digital scan :) .....Then they have a huge monitor (not the typical micro phish against the back light, 5 feet away, behind your back kinda of x-rays) on which you a see a close up of the x-ray of your teeth/gum line etc. and they go over specific areas that need attention or where they could tell you have not been flossing ( which I promised to work on :) ) Then, the graceful, Dr. Barsoum comes in, speaking to you as sincerely as caring father, who wants you to be as comfortable and healthy as possible, he reiterates what the hygienist stated earlier, says, your teeth are in great shape, but then kindly pleads with you to take the best care of your teeth so as keep them strong/healthy as they are, and follow his advice ( I really will floss more :)). Finally, as a cherry on top, a few hours after your visit, the ever-caring Dr. Barsoum, call you to ensure that there is no discomfort as a result of any work done during your visit AND GIVES YOU HIS PERSONAL CELL number, just in case there is something you want to ask him about.... So in closing, you probably cant tell how I feel about this dental practice from this review, so maybe you should read some of the other Google & Yelp reviews, of which, only 100% are 5-Stars
