I happened to come across Dr. Sean Nguyens dental practice during his office grand opening party while running errands in the same plaza. From the moment I stepped through the door at Lake Forest Modern Dental, I was completely impressed. The office is modern and immaculately clean, with furnishings on par with any model home. Fine interior decor aside, Dr. Nguyens office is brimming in the latest tech, including large flat screen monitors in each of the exam suites and a panoramic digital X-ray machine. Intrigued, I decided to make an appointment. Ive always been a little bit apprehensive about visiting the dentist, but I decided to take a chance on Dr. Nguyen, and am really glad that I did. His entire staff is warm and welcoming, and the initial check-in process was a breeze. I was then brought back to meet with Dr. Nguyen to discuss the goals of my visit in his private consultation room before proceeding to the exam room, which was a nice touch. Of course, the most important part of the visit is the exam itself, and I can honestly say that Dr. Nguyen is the most thorough and detail-oriented dentist I have ever visited. I was impressed with how much time he took to perform my exam and go over my treatment options. I felt very confident that he was recommending only what was necessary, as he made a point of telling me what he thought I could do without, or what was too aggressive. He even took the time to come up with a plan of care that would specifically maximize my insurance benefits and save me the most money out-of-pocket. Who does that!? I certainly appreciate the high level of knowledge that Dr. Nguyen brings, as well as his attempts to keep my costs down. The best part of my entire exam experience, however, was that it was completely PAIN-FREE! I think the word "experience" really sums up my visit best, because thats what it was. With so many dentists in the local area, its the little things that make all of the difference. Dr. Nguyen provides all of his patients with sunglasses to wear in the exam rooms. I never knew what a great idea that was until I was lying in the chair and realized I didnt have to squint to protect myself from the bright exam lights overhead. Dr. Nguyen also provides his patients with wireless headphones to listen to the TV or music while you are sitting in the chair. Again, a terrific idea to keep you occupied, relaxed, and insulated from any of the other normal sounds in a dental office that you might not want to hear. From all of the fine personal touches in the office, to all of the high tech equipment, and finally to the compassionate and expert care that I received, Dr. Sean Nguyen and Lake Forest Modern Dental are top notch. Make an appointment, you wont be disappointed!

First off, I hadnt been to the dentist for about 7-8 years, since I had my root canal. Before that, I hadnt been for another 10 years. Why? Terrified of the dentist and had a really bad experience when I was a kid. I knew that I really needed to go to the dentist soon and lucky for me, my girlfriend informed me that her cousin started his own practice close to my house and he is really nice. I was still hesitant because my anxiety had recently gotten worse. I waited a few weeks and finally called to make an appointment. The receptionist, Shanelle (sorry if I spelled your name incorrectly) was so sweet. She had to deal with my craziness with scheduling. I was able to get in the following week. When I got there, my nerves were all over the place. Dr. Nguyen took his time with me. Made sure that I was as comfortable as I could be. His assistant, Taylor, was wonderful as well. I had a few moments where my anxiety got the best of me and she was so patient. After my xrays, Dr. Nguyen gave me the rundown of the results. I knew that if i didnt take care of some of the procedures that day, I would postpone them as far as I could. He understood and was able to execute some of the procedures that I needed done. During my time there (about 3 hours), I had waves of anxiousness but the whole team was wonderful and made me feel less anxious. I made another appointment to finish up the rest about a week and a half later. I did, however, call with the intent to postpone. Partly because I got scared again but mainly because I didnt have the funds available at the time. I dont have dental insurance so the first visit was straight out of pocket and set me back a bit. But I was informed by the other receptionist, Christina, of the available payment options and it really helped me out. She also told me her personal story about her fear of the dentist. I am not alone ! Haha! So because of her, I made it to my originally scheduled appointment. Dr. Nguyen and his team again really helped me with my nerves and everything went great. I truly believe that for the first time, I will be going to the dentist regularly. As long as I get to see Dr. Nguyen and his team. So thank you so much for helping me through my lifelong fear of the scary dental office! See you guys on my next scheduled cleaning! Fyi: Jim Ts review is right on point.

(Same as my yelp review) I used to dread going to the dentist because they would either sell you stuff or take advantage of you or do unnecessary work. Some hygienists are rough and take too long. Dr. Nguyen is not like one of those dentists. He is upfront and honest and conservative. He is gentle on your teeth and cleaning is a breeze! His assistant Taylor is very sweet and kind and Kristina, the office manager, is always on top of billing. You will always know what you owe and what is going on. Heres how your day is likely to go once you book your Appt: First Kristina will welcome you with open arms and you will immediately feel like family. Then Dr. Nguyen will introduce himself, make you feel at home and take you into his office and listen to your concerns. He is sweet, kindhearted, a very good listener and will address any concerns you have. They are very accommodating too!You are then most likely to encounter Taylor who will set you up for X-rays or in a chair. Then depending on what you are there for, you know by the end of your visit where you stand. You will know what your plan is as you and Dr Nguyen have discussed it prior to treatment or consult, you will know what you owe and they are VERY reasonable (for those who are cash patients) and you will ultimately look forward to coming to the dentist. You will also begin to care for your teeth and enjoy doing it! Plus seeing "family" is always a plus. I have been back several times as Ive converted all my family members into Dr Nguyens patients. They accept a wide range of insurances too! They care about YOU and in return I care about them. That is why I am writing this review! The fun and ironic part of this story is this location is the exact location where I got braces 20 years ago when there was a medical building here. I have come full circle and am back where it all began. I am home.
