I just recently graduated from this college (Aug.16 2013) and i absolutely loved the program! I took the Veterinary Assistant Program. The school sends you all the books you need plus your scrubs. Pros: -You learn from home on your own time. -You get to take a practice test before you take the real test. -You have a program manager that is available to you if you have any questions or concerns. -Its not all that expensive, and there are plenty of ways you can make payments or if you are military or spouse of military, they have MyCAA available as well. -The externship is done at a hospital/clinic in your area. -The staff is encouraging. -Test is open book (obviously) -there are extra classes you can take along with the program Cons: -Most stages are extremely long -The practice test is not always in order so you have to search forever for the answer if you dont already know it. -The test is exactly in order with the practice test which doesnt allow you to retain the information as well. -Getting ready for the externship can take a while if there are no openings in your area -Your Program Manager doesnt contact you to check on how you are doing. -The certificate takes too long to get to you once you have completed the program and graduated. -The CEPs are only online, so you have to stare at your computer for hours to read the material (that can be bad for your eyes!!) -The CEPs are WAAAAY too long and the tests are WAAAAY too long as well. I had a good experience with the program because i do better when i am able to do things on my own time. i have never done well in class settings, so this program was great for me! This was my first step to a very rewarding life in the Animal field. It may not be for everyone, but thats for you to decide(:

I completed this course with a passing grade and am awaiting my certificate. I will go ahead and list the Pros, Cons and my thoughts. Pros- This course is a very good introduction to understanding dogs and it does offer some good advice on training dogs. The staff has been great, willing to make exceptions as long as you keep them informed and updated. They also are very quick to respond to emails and assist with any questions you might have. Able to work at your own pace is a great thing for people with busy lives. Pet First Aid and CPR is great to include in course curriculum. Cons- The course materials can be found in many other publications located online or in public library. The limited amount of time spent with actual training vs. book work is not advisable for truly certified trainers. The cost is extremely high for what the course has to offer. Thoughts- If you want to take an introduction course to dog training this is not a bad course. I would be very concerned if I had a graduate from this course actually teaching anything but, basic obedience to my dogs. The major stores from the Chicago land area dont recognize this course as being sufficient enough to train in there stores (Petco, Pet Smart & Pet Supplies Plus). I would look into saving the money and actually going to a reputable dog training facility that spends more hands on time vs. book time.

I graduated last year- its an amazing online college if youre working full time but still want to get an education in the animal field. I completed the grooming program- the course work was very thorough and the extra lessons really came in handy especially the cpr course. I had a problem with my externship location, who lied to the college about me learning from another groomer (their groomer quit the day before I came in and instead of calling my school to say Id be alone or tell me they hadnt told the school about it, they threw me into it on my own but thats another story) when I contacted the school after I had finally had enough of the place I was at, they were willing to restart my externship free of charge and were so helpful. Luck would have it, I got a grooming job afterword and was almost over qualified for the job. Even though I secured a job with a grooming salon, they still insisted on helping me find an externship and make everything right again but I told them it wasnt necessary. Thanks to their program I now have a great job with good pay and have the necessary skill set to excel in my field. THANK YOU ABC!!!!!

Absolutely terrible! If I could give them 0 stars I would. Not only did my teacher send me an email telling me that I need stop moving forward, because Im "compromising my ability to retain the information for the sake of speed". Then telling me that, "progressing quickly through the program in order to reach my externship in not recommended." When in reality I didnt have a job at the time so I was trying to work on this as much as I could, since I had the time to do it. So, instead of asking me about it, she went ahead and assumed that I wasnt even doing the work like I should be and I am just doing this to reach the end. On top of that she completely forgot about me and didnt contact me for almost a year. I was told that during this process your teacher would stay in constant contact with you. This was a huge waste of time and money. Im glad that some people have had a great experience with this program! I feel like I wouldve benefited from it as well if I had been assigned a teacher that could successfully do the job that shes been given and live up to what Animal Behavior College said they would do.

I am currently enrolled in the Dog obedience program and it is fantastic. I have never been able to excel in school but I have had incredible assistance from my mentor and all the wonderful staff I have talked to. I am constantly being offered reminders for due dates and emails asking how each chapter is going, as well as great feedback on both things I need improvement on and things I excel in. My program Manager, Katie, has inspired me to continue my canine education and focus on the training aspects that will be useful in the future. I have nothing but amazing things to say about the way this program works. Between the flexibility of the online portion, to the staff involvement. I highly recommend this program. It allows me to work full time and keep my scores where I want them to be on my exams. Lastly, I am able to use the knowledge I obtain from the program in my line of work, and am even considering doing the Vet tech program as well. I am not the type of person to write reviews but I felt strongly about acknowledging how great this program is.

I took a chance at checking out ABC College and decide to sign up for Vet Assistant and see if I liked it and could do a good job. I took care of my parents and they have both passed and thought I would pursue my dream Animals. I run a cow calf operation running 17 moms & babies. I had Jennifer as my teacher and she was awesome she helped my understand what I did not. I really knew nothing when reading all that information. I did my externship putting 10 hours a day for my 90 hours. I was great I learned so much each and every day since the hospital was open 24 - 7 every thing started clicking in place as Jennifer told me it would. I am waiting to ABC gets Vet Tech launched and in the mean time I am shadowing at the equine hospital in Somerset, PA. I really love it. It is also a clinic open 24 - 7. Jennifer and the College has just be great along with the other people I have talked with to obtain what I have already 4.0 Average. Thanks to Everyone
