I have been bringing my dog to this vet for 4 years. 2 years ago I was told by Dr. Hancock that my dog had squamous cell carcinoma on the palate of her mouth. He referred me to a specialist who basically told me that my dog would need to be euthanized within 6 months. These last two years I have been in to see Dr. Hancock 4-5 times, plus I have taken my new puppy to see him. The receptionist is ALWAYS rude and disgusting. Ive been waiting for my dog to die for 2 years! I recently took my dog with cancer to Crossroads Vet and was informed that, no, she does NOT have cancer. They performed a biopsy on her yesterday to find out what she DOES have. Today I called Belcrest to get a refill on my dogs pain meds and that hideous receptionist was beyond rude....as usual. She basically called me a liar when I told her that my dog had a biopsy yesterday and that if she "really did" then the other vet would have sent my dog home with pain meds. I had previously informed Crossroads that my dog already had a prescription for pain meds, hence no new prescription. When I went to Belcrest I informed the receptionist that she was nasty on the phone and that is no way to treat customers. She viciously told me that I was the one that was nasty and began to yell at me that their office cannot refill my dogs prescription without an exam. She could not grasp that my dog had surgery YESTERDAY and that, of course, I want to wait on the results! Duh! It carried on like that for awhile until I asked her to please just give me the records for both my dogs and that I would find a new vet. She finally complied but not before she venomously said "and both of your dogs are overdue on their vaccinations!" Then she threw the paperwork at me. That entire office is a real class act of bitter, hateful jaded people that dont belong in any kind of customer service or a place where people need compassion! Seriously....dont go here!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE!!!!!! I took my 6yr old St. Bernard there last Thursday. The female doctor diagnoses was hip displasia which I know is not right, I disagreed with that prognosis. The doctor gave my pup pain pills and a anti inflammatory medication. My Saint didnt show any improvement so I took him back and got to see Dr. Hancock, he diagnosed him with a swollen prostate which could be fixed by neutering him. So the bill here was $260 Thursday, $27 today with another bill for $800 for the neuter procedure. This is OUT RAGOUS! Misdiagnosis and then almost 3 TIMES THE PRICE for a neuter. I WILL NEVER TAKE ANY OF MY DOGS THERE AGAIN..... FLAT OUR ROBBERY!!! Update.... I took my Saint to another animal hospital on bijou after the neuter for his checkup, Two new vets looked at him, did new blood work, x-rays, ultrasound and told me he either had spinal meningitis or a brain tumor problem... The vets there told me that because of the novox meds that were prescribed for the first misdiagnosis at Belcrest 1st appointment, we would not be able to use the steroid meds needed to begin treatment for the meningitis for at least 3 days. My Saint DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING WRONG WITH HIS PROSTATE EITHER! NOR DID HE HAVE ANYTHING WRONG WITH HIS HIPS! My beautiful Pup died on 3/13/16. He was only 5yrs 9months old. Had he been seen by a Vet that had any integrity, knowledge, or common sense at Belcrest he might still be alive.. Please, please, if you care about your pet as much as I did. DONT TAKE THEM TO BELCREST..

Please please think twice before setting foot in this animal clinic. I have no time to complain about bad service, but the way I was treated by the staff at this hospital was so inexcusable, I have to take the time out of my day to let people know. I have a new puppy, and got his shots at Belcrest because its close to my home. I asked for an estimate on neutering, the estimate came in the mail at $385, which I thought was a lot for a 5 pound Chihuahua. I called Belcrest for clarification and the receptionist told me to go somewhere else if I didnt like the price. I explained that I think they had something wrong...she told me that was the price for a 40 pound animal... I proceeded to correct her by telling her my dog was not going to get more than 5 pounds. Its not what you say to people, its how you say it. The staff there treated me like I was a piece of crap. I absolutely hate complaining and totally uncomfortable with doing this, however, there was no excuse for these people making me feel the way they did. There was far more I could go into about the other staff but please just spend your money where you are treated with respect, Belcrest is NOT that place.

Bad communication skills, an outdated facility, a sliding price scale and a crass veterinarian. We took our dog in for a teeth cleaning and were verbally quoted $375-450 for the basic service over the phone. After we took him in, they called back and said it was going to be $803 with three additional extractions. I dont have a problem with adjusted estimates but it sounded a little high so we elected to take him to another vet for a second opinion (where the same work was performed for $500). When I picked him up they handed a form typed in all CAPS that said "THE CUSTOMER WAS SUPPOSEDLY QUOTED 375-450 BUT HAD NO WRITTEN EVIDENCE." Thank you for questioning my integrity, I will take my business elsewhere. Also, dont expect the Vet to remember your pets name or read their medical history. Despite a $1000 kidney stone removal they performed, two years later they still recommended high protein food.

If I could give this veterinarian 0 stars, I would. I was warned by my next door neighbors on how rude and unprofessional they were. Well they were right, I have used this vet for 4 years or more and have 4 animals that go regularly for check ups and obviously if they need to be seen. The staff has been very rude to me before in the past, but I blew it off. Yesterday I called for some advice and they told me I need to get my dog in right away, but the soonest they could get him in was the next day at 8am (thought it was an emergency??). I cant explain how rude and unprofessional they were on the phone to me, Wayne the tech and Hannah the receptionist. I would like to clue them in that customer service starts on the phone and at the door. I will never return to the vet and better yet I will never refer them out like I have done in the past.

I had gone in because my dog was having issues with her breathing and had recently been sprayed by a skunk. They were very busy but when it was time for my dogs check up they were very reassuring and made sure I knew what was going on with her. They gave me plenty of time to decide what I wanted to do and more than caring with my heart breaking situation. I do have one complaint about the place and that was, over the phone a staff member was very rude and got irritated easily because the meds that I called to get a refill on-I hadnt known what they took care of with my dog. A lot of "like I said", when he just told me the name and not what it does. Other than that Ive had an okay experience with Belcrest.
