We brought our 11.5 y/o chocolate lab Moose in for what we thought would be just a routine geriatric exam, as hed been getting slower and more lethargic, and we wanted to know what we could do to help him feel more comfortable as he aged. Dr. Meynier examined him and said he was concerned about his distended stomach, and wanted to do x-rays. I tend to be suspicious when doctors, dentists, and vets want to do x-rays, but there was something about Dr. Meynier that made us immediately trust his opinion that they were needed. Thank goodness we did, as they showed a large mass on his spleen, which was beyond scary. Dr. Meynier gently advised us that further x-rays and ultra-sounds would need to be done to make sure there was no spreading. If there wasnt, Moose would be a good candidate for surgery, which, because of the size of his mass, would need to happen asap. Long story short: film was taken, there was no spreading, Dr. Meynier came in on his day off the next day and with Dr. Milizio and OBrien, removed Mooses spleen and what turned out to be the 15-lb tumor attached to it, which had been sapping Moose of nutrients and energy, and which was also near bursting, which would have killed him. If saving sweet Mooses life wasnt enough, the post-op care and concern we have gotten from everyone at Vail Valley Animal Hospital has been stellar. We were incredibly fortunate that this wasnt cancer (biopsy showed lymphoid hyperplasia) and are incredibly grateful to the doctors and techs there for their professionalism and expertise. Moose is acting five years younger than he was before, and we are so happy to have more time with him. None of this was cheap, as you might imagine, but all of it was well, well worth the cost. We cant recommend this veterinary clinic highly enough.

We saw Dr. Justin because our Labrador Retriever was having ear issues. She is 10mos old and we have been told by our home vet to wait to get her spayed until after her first heat because of so many recent studies (within the last 2 years) that have shown a decrease in cancer and hip dysplasia incidences when doing so. Not only were we told to wait by our vet but also three other vets and numerous breeders that we have spoken to agreed with waiting until after the first heat. Dr. Justin apparently hasnt seen the research or cared to look at it because he was so concerned about telling us we were wrong that he hardly talked about the ears, had horrible bedside manner, commenting that our concern was coughing, which it wasnt and went off and printed material for us recommending spaying your dog earlier. What was ironic was the articles were general recommendations, nothing to do with labrador retrievers. I would advise Dr. Justin to do some research and realize the changes to the recommendations for retrievers. It is ridiculous that we, as patients need to be berated due to his lack of knowledge.

Great experience here! The whole staff showed genuine care for my dog. She is an anxious and sometimes aggressive pup who doesnt get along with other dogs and they took great care to make sure she didnt encounter any other dogs while we were there and did a fantastic job of allowing her to warm up to them before they started checking her. Everything from the first phone call to make an appointment to the last phone call where they called to check on her was wonderful. Thanks so much!

During the end of his life, our Border Collie, Murphy, was treated by Dr Charlie Meynier and his staff. They all were so comforting and compassionate during the entire ordeal, especially Dr Meynier. I would highly recommend them for any type of service to any loved animal after seeing their response under the worst of conditions. Murphy crossed the Rainbow Bridge in the most tender , comfortable way possible.

The staff at Vail Valley Animal Hospital has been great in helping our cat Mouser with her diabetes. They are always welcoming and will take the time to answer my many questions. I feel like they want the best for my sweet kitty while helping me keep the costs down as much as possible. Its been a stressful time for us but the staff has helped me and Mouser feel better about our future.

Dr Justin Milizio is amazing! He is knowledgeable about alternative and listens! I have older pets with injuries and sometime vet are on such a time line they dont listen to care givers about there animals conditions. We spend our lives with these four legged kids. He has a heart and common sense. Thank you Dr Milizio for listening and all your concern. Front staff has been great.

I have had to visit VVAH several times, some for emergencies and other times for routine shots, check-ups, etc... All times the staff members were very knowledgeable and helpful. Both the Edwards and Eagle-Vail location are clean and accommodating for my lab mix. All around great people!

Staff was very friendly and they were great with my dog. I will continue to send them in the future. Vet said we needed to have her teeth done. Cost about $900. Never did and a year later a different vet said her teeth looked great. Glad I didnt pay the $900 and get ripped off.

The most amazing vet in Vail Valley. The Vets are honest and extremely knowledgeable. They give great feedback in the office and over the phone. Our puppy Luna loves going to the vet to see her friends at the front desk and her doctors. Their dog treats are also her favorite!

I think Dr Meynier is great but his front staff is tough to work with. They seem to be totally disorganized and theyre always messing up appointments. But the doctor is the most important part.
