I will give the major details here. However there are many more subtle facts that in a whole would more than likely send chills. Am I being dramatic? I wish that were the case. First , let me say that due to a simple scratch on my dogs ear from my cat, I learned from the veterinarian that my dog, just 9 months old had a "SLIGHT" clotting problem,as he had referred to it. He put liquid bandage on the scratch and the bleeding finally stopped. He bled for nearly 2 days, never forming a scab. Well, I went to the front desk and made an appointment for a simple neutering, and took my dog back home..Bleeding stopped,he was back to being rambunctious, and chasing his buddy, the cat. A few days later I took him back to the veterinarian for his neutering. I dropped him off at 7:30 and scheduled to pick him up anytime after 2. At 10:30 I received a voicemail saying that Peanut had gone through the surgery , and was resting comfortably. At 12:30 there was another voicemail asking that we pick him up at 4 or 4:30. They "would like to keep him for observation a little longer due to the history of his bleeding problem with his ear". At 4:30 I walked in to find my little 8 1/2 pound playful pup covered in blood on his face and neck. The assistant informed me that the doctor had pulled 2 of his baby teeth while he was under anesthesia. She quickly gave me aftercare instructions for his incision area...".keep ice on him to help with the swelling, bring him back on monday for a follow-up". And off we went. Not once did I speak to a veterinarian, before ,or after the surgery. At 8:30 that same evening, I knew something was very wrong. He was not coming out of it, but just the opposite...he was sinking deeper. I called the emergency hospital, since the clinic had no way to reach them. They asked me to look at his gums. WHITE !! And his lips were cold as ice on the inside. They informed me that he was bleeding internally and I needed to bring him in right away. By 9:30 i gave them permission to euthanize . He needed a transfusion, and I just did not have the money for such an expense. I left the hospital with no baby. I gave them permission to cremate, and walked away. After an entire weekend searching the internet, I realize that this "veterinarian" was not only negligent , but very much seems like malicious intent. I picked up the frozen body of my companion this morning, hoping for an autopsy. He is still frozen..here...with me. My conclusions are this: Knowing that the patient has a clotting problem, why was he not given medication prior to surgery to help him with forming clots ?? Knowing that the patient had not been given the needed medication, why did the vet remove 2 teeth that I did not authorize, causing more trauma for his body to undergo. Bleeding from the incision, and from the removal of the teeth. AND, here is the kicker, Why was he given his rabies vaccine while under going such an already life threatening situation. After research, I found that when given a rabies vaccine, the animal is not to undergo any undue stress, so a bad reaction to the vaccine will be noticed, if one occurs. This poor bleeding ,weakened animal was introduced to a fatal disease. Not having the ability to fight against the rabies. I am hoping that someone will help me take that monster out of veterinary medicine. How many has he done this to in the past? How many will he KILL in the future?

This other person must be smoking crack, because this clinic went above and beyond for me. ABC spay/neuter almost killed my dog. I called as a new client and they fit me in same morning within an hour! The doctor told me EXACTLY what they had done to her, and told me that if I couldnt afford it, they wouldnt run all of the tests for me. I had them do the tests anyways, and he was RIGHT ON THE MONEY. He even gave her some free IV fluids to perk her up quickly. BONUS: While I was waiting for her test results, a guy came in with a puppy that had been run over. They are NOT an emergency clinic, but they rushed the dog in and started treating the puppy. They then prepared the pup for transfer to an emergency clinic, once they had done all they could. I will forever be grateful for Dr. Ferguson saving my dog, and for what they did for that puppy, even though they could have turned that man away. Best vet ever!

After $530 worth of business for an exam, tests, shots, meds, health certificate to be picked up within 30 days... 14 days later I go in to pick up the health certificate and was told to come back another day because they need to print it out. What? Then they phoned needing my zip code and the places I will be traveling to. I told them this is a health certificate for a dog to say it was healthy when they examined it and has nothing to do with where I live or where I travel. They said ok but phoned again saying call ahead, give a heads up because I will need to have another appointment for an exam which they graciously will not charge me for (you can be sure about that!)...but it will cost ten dollars for the piece of paper? I requested to talk to the vet or office manager because the exam, certificate, money was a done deal. They never called me back. I took my business elsewhere.

The worst experience ever. I took in some abandoned kittens, one got seriously hurt and I a panic my boyfriend ran to this vet clinic. While he headed there I called pleading for help because the kitten was really hurt and they told me they couldnt help me unless we had money. I told them I would surrender the animal because I couldnt see it suffer and they told me they couldnt help me without money or an appointment. It was horrible. I told them I lived up the street and they were my first thought, I said please help me! I got told no... The kitten was gasping and crying, and they refused to help... We were forced to make the decision of leaving the kitten there and walking out and praying they would help him... It was a horrible experience and I cant believe that they would deny a helpless little animal help. I am heartbroken...

Amazing caring staff. Next week my "big dog" will be going in for surgery. Theres no place else that I could feel so at ease to have this done. Theyll be adding quality to my guys life. Thank you so much. Its now next week Edit : Surgery was successful. Definitely recommend this veterinary clinic. Its been a week since Maceys surgery, I truly cant thank Old Pueblo Veterinary Clinic staff enough. Macey is back to his normal self, loving and even playing again. I couldnt be happier. If you love your pets this is the best place for their health care.
