[Response to Owner Comment on YELP]: Youll see that the owner responded on 8/30/16 to my original YELP review by expressing concern and requesting that I call them. This appears to be a sincere attempt to rectify a problem, or at the very least learn more about what they did wrong so they might correct it and improve their service. I received an email from Yelp when the owner posted that response and the very next morning I called their office and asked to speak with Amy and explained that I was calling as she requested on Yelp. She didnt take my call and the receptionist took my number and said she would call back. Well, its been a month now and I have never received that call back. Obviously they didnt really intend to speak with me. I was willing to explain my experience in an effort to help them get better. I initially respected that the owner requested a call, but at this point its clearly just another indication of their lack of commitment and low standard of customer service. Evidently, they really dont care. RESPONSE TO OWNER COMMENT: Being dishonest in your reply only serves to reinforce your substandard care. Regardless of what your vet told you or wrote in the chart, Dr. Mark G. Finke NEVER checked the ears or teeth of either dog, nor did he check any lumps. You can write what you want to defend your practice, but people are smart and will eventually learn for themselves. A shiny facade and nice facilities only matters if you are reputable and sincere. Obviously you are neither. Regarding your mysteriously changing exam fees: when I called to inquire about wellness exams it was NEVER mentioned that you had different classifications of exam fees based on vaccinations. Whether you realize it or not you just clearly let everyone who reads this know that your practice is money-driven. I have little need for a practice such as yours and by your ridiculously pathetic defense of your policies and poor care you just earned yourself a spot in every conversation I have with ALL friends and associates. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We recently moved to Peyton and thought it would make sense to find a vet closer than our vet in the springs, who is now 40 minutes away. In hindsight, we didnt realize how much better our vet was in the springs until we tried Tender Care Vet. We had several issues with this place, but the primary issue is they didnt give a thorough exam and they clearly dont take much time communicating or reading the information the tech takes down. We have two dogs, one older dog which has lumps that I wanted checked and a younger dog who has anxiety with storms. Even though we told the tech this information, either it wasnt relayed to the vet or he just really didnt care. He just gave the shots and did a VERY brief exam. He never checked the lumps on our older dog and I had to remind him about the storm anxiety for our other dog. He never checked their teeth and even though our older dog has joint pain, which we communicated to both the tech and the vet, he never extended our dogs legs to see range of motion or pain level. He recommended Rimadyl (NSAID pain reliever) for our older dog, but never discussed price. After waiting a long time in the small room, they finally brought a small supply of chewable Rimadyl and the wrong prescription for the anxiety medicine for our younger dog. So we had to wait again for the tech to get the correct prescription. When I checked out the bill was higher than I expected and there was no explanation or cost breakdown until I asked for clarification. The receptionist was irritated that I asked for an explanation, but I have a right to know what the fees are, so I patiently waited for her to go through the information. Then I learned they were clearly price gauging. When I called vets in the area I had asked what the exam fee was and found Tender Care Vet has the lowest exam fee ($30). During our lengthy visit there we never felt like they really cared about our animals, which is the primary reason I will never again take our dogs to this clinic.

What a horrible experience. I didnt post about it before but they never asked - so now Im going to let the rest of you know. I brought my pregnant Yorkie there even before she showed up as being pregnant. Everything was going fine and then they found she had a very large kidney stone. They knew she was going to have a high risk pregnancy. I brought her back in and they showed three babies inside of her. I was so excited. And then, the weekend she was supposed to give birth, I called in 4 times because I was concerned that something wasnt right. I was treated like a worried momma and I never did get to speak with a vet. Her temperature went up on Wednesday and I brought her in because I knew something was wrong - and I insisted a vet see her. After the female vet took a look at her I asked about an emergency C-section. She hemmed and hawed and said it would risk the viability of the puppies. She then brought Xena into the back where she consulted with a real vet and she came back out and said they would have to perform an emergency C-section. All of the babies were dead -- and had been for a few days. Meaning, if they had listened to me over the weekend, we could have had three healthy babies. It doesnt stop there though. They gave Xena a hysterectomy and sent her home on a drug that is known to kill dogs - Rimadyl - at approx $50 a bottle. We almost lost Xena too until I called and told them I didnt think she was going to make it through one more night. "Oh, do you want to bring her in?" "Of course I do" I said! I was charged another $1200 to save her life from the drug they sent her home with. That is of course in addition to the $1200 I paid for the hysterectomy, etc. I mentioned this to a male vet there and all he seemed to care about was whether or not I was bringing this up to sue them. No, but I really didnt feel I should have had to pay for the second time to save her life when this all could have been avoided in the first place and they had told me to bring her in one of the times I called over the first weekend and they didnt prescribe Rimadyl. Be careful people - they arent concerned about your animals - they, like most other vets, are only concerned about the almighty dollar.

Dont be fooled by this very nice and expensive place , I was asked to leave this Vet and find another Vet, the front desk staff has members that shouldnt be working there, they will not only misplace your pets records they are also unprofessional when you ask for help, I have 9 Schnauzers and I brought one in as she was sick , I was told that they couldnt see me and because it was almost closing time they referred me to another emergency clinic, I told them when I first signed up with you , you not only made room for me but you cared, now Im just a money making number, my dog was sick and I needed help. they called one of the owners to talk to me , he explained to me that when I first signed up they had plenty of appointment slots, now that they have alot of members I cant get in when I want to . I told the owner that when I first signed up with you guys you guys treated me like a king, now even your front desk staff is rude and your doors are open and my dog is sick, The Owner said because its just a follow up lets make an appointment. I walked away and called the next day . The front desk lady calmly said .. we would like you to find another vet . This place is a Money making Business only , You are just a number here..dont be fooled by there new fancy building, you are paying for all that new flooring and 3000 dollar desk .
