This is the same review I gave them on yelp. I am sure these salespeople are fine when they are selling you glasses, however, if you have a problem with those glasses you will quickly find them to be impatient and condescending. First of all, they sent me home with glasses that had giant X scratches in the coating. So I had to return to have them recut. Then they told me I would have 30 days to adjust to the glasses and could have the prescription retaken for free if necessary, except that when I asked to have my prescription retaken, I was instead told that the problems with my eyes were due to old age (I am only 28). The doctor did not retake my prescription again but took me into his office and told me it was old age... not what he said when he was selling me the glasses. I asked one associate for my pupullary distance measurement, which they had taken, and she told me she did not write it down anywhere in my files and it would cost me $20 to have it remeasured. The other sales associate pulled it up in my files for me and gave it to me. I asked one associate if she could double check to make sure the optical center was in the correct spot and she said she couldnt do that, until I insisted that the doctor was able to do that in his office. Then she went back and had it marked for me. If you find yourself having to work with these salespeople on a problem, please be aware that they will talk negatively about you while you are sitting there waiting for them (although theyll disguise it to make it sound as if they are talking about their difficult daughter who never listens to them when they try to tell her something), and please know that you will have to ask them twice and be insistent if you want something done and they will act condescendingly to you even then. As for the icing on the cake, after they recut my glasses because of the scratches, they called me back in for my new pair, and the new pair was also scratched. I offered to leave them my flashlight so that they could see the scratches next time they cut my glasses and they told me they had a flourescent light in the back that would do that, so really what they meant to say was they were perfectly capable of checking to see if my glasses had scratches before they tried to give them to me again, they simply didnt care. Again, some people might have a good experience with this pearle vision, but I imagine its because the sales associates are just as cheery as can be when theyre selling you an overpriced pair of glasses... ask them to help you solve your vision problems, or correct problems in the glasses they made for you, and if they treat you like they treated me, then you will receive some of the most difficult and condescending customer service you have ever received... but to their credit they will do it with a smile. I would suggest going elsewhere if you are considering this location

The Dr. was great, but his staff is straight out of the GED program! I went in for an eye exam, drove over an hour to get there, and when they didnt have the trial lenses I needed, they gave me a temporary pair that was close, said they would order the ones I needed, and made an appointment for me to come back in a week to get fitted for them. I came back a week later, to find out that no one had ordered the contacts. They apologized, and said they would order them, and have them sent to my house. A week later I got a phone call from them saying that my contacts were in, and I could come pick them up. I told them they had said they would send them to me, so they did, finally! When I got them, the right eye was right, and the left eye was wrong. I had to call them again, and they finally sent me the correct lense for the left eye. I was then moving to California, so I needed to order my lenses, and have them shipped out to my new place in CA. I received my 2 boxes of new lenses, the right eye from the first pair of trials, and my left eye from the second set of trials, and havent opened the box until yesterday. When I put in my new set of lenses yesterday, I realized my left eye couldnt focus. Lucky for me, I saved the box from the 2 trial lenses that were CORRECT, and saw that once again, they screwed up my prescription in my left eye. So I just called them to get new lenses as fast as possible, since Im in a wedding this weekend, and the guy that helped me said he would order me a new box, and then have it sent to me. I asked what prescription he was ordering, and he read off the one they just sent me that was wrong! So I told him the right one, and who knows...I MIGHT get my lenses by next week, after the wedding, and they MIGHT be the right prescription! FYI: I started the process 2 months before my move, thinking it would all be done by the time I left. Its been 4 months of dealing with them, and I still dont have what I need.

Definitely worth the trip. Dr. Steve was great. I felt very comfortable with the excellent eye exam he gave me. I highly recommend this doctor for an eye exam. I just went in get my glasses fixed and the gal upfront fixed my glasses just like that, with a smile and no charge. Before that, I stopped by VisionWorks and nobody even said hello to me. Too bad because I bought two pairs of glasses from this Pearle Vision across from Belmar in Lakewood. They have a really good selection of frames so it was overwhelming. But the gal upfront help me pick out a frame. I just wished their bathroom was a little bit bigger as my elderly mother had a tough time using it, but I understand that it is not a public bathroom. I will definitely go back. They have my business for life. They told me 2 to 3 weeks for my glasses but they showed up in less than one week. I am not complaining. But they fixed my glasses so I did not even have to buy new ones, but because they had a buy one pair get second pair free special going on so I jumped on it. Boy am I glad.

Its when there are issues that you have a chance to really test the mettle of a business & these folks pass with shining colors! I have obtained 2 pairs of glasses from the Lakewood Pearl Vision & my 2 experiences have been great. Meagan is very knowledgeable as well as quite the humorist. She has a great bedside manner & always makes you feel like she is truly concerned about your experience....thats because she genuinely is! I had an issue with my last set of glasses in which neither of the issues were their fault. One lens just fell out & needed to be remade. That was done with no issue & when I got them back with that corrected lens, the other lens had a weird aberration that was difficult for others to see. They accepted that there was an issue without hesitation & sent the glasses back to have both lenses remade of course at no cost to me. The glasses arrived in a week & Voila, no issues at all. These folks are great. Thanx Meagan, Julian, & Jovan. Glen Whatley
