You would be better off bringing your beloved pet to your local butchers shop. Brought my cat in to have a lump removed from above his eye. Dropped him off first thing in the morning, was told to call around noon. Noon comes around and I call. Was told that there was no update and to call at 1pm. Called at 1pm, was told he is doing great, then told that was someone elses cat and there was no update. I was asked to call at 2pm. Called at 2pm, no update, asked to call at 3pm. This went on up until 5pm when I was asked to come get him. When I got him, I specifically said no to a biopsy (because I was told by the Dr. he would tell me if he had concerns and if he did, he would suggest me to send it in for a biopsy...Dr. said nothing), I was given an ointment for the incision with no instruction from the woman at the front desk (I just read the instructions on the box), and when I asked about how it went/if any follow up was needed nothing was said but a lot of unrelated pleasantries. Next day, around 12:02pm, my cat still is not drinking water. So I call the vet, they close at noon. So I do what Ive done with my chickens, turkeys and goats who dont drink water...plastic syringe of water to corner of mouth, it works, he starts drinking by himself. I call the following day only to find out that they had 10 surgeries on Tuesday, 10 surgeries on Wednesday then close at noon on Thursday. You close early after preforming that many surgeries in a row?! A couple of weeks later I get a voice message from the Dr. saying that the biopsy came back and it was cancerous and asked me to call him that Thursday (remember now, I said "no" to the biopsy because the Dr. never expressed concerns nor suggested I send it in). I call at 10am on Thursday, Dr. is busy and no one, including the Dr., have any idea why Im calling. Said he will call me back shortly. At 11:55am I call back (because I remember that they close at noon on Thursday and he left me a vm saying my cat had/has cancer, I dont care what he is doing he needs to speak with me before leaving) finally I can speak to him. Basically he says they dont know if they got deep enough because it was in a bad spot but they were able to get all the edges. The following week I notice that my cats stitches dont look like they are dissolving properly. I call them back to find out what kind of stitches were used. The woman at the front desk, chuckles at the question and says, "we are not sure what kind of stitches were used". Thats something to laugh at?!! Really?!! I stood in front of you asking how the surgery went and asking about follow ups and you said absolutely nothing! Now your laughing at a very real question, that you should know the answer to but dont?! My fiancé brought the cat back in to have them removed. Fast forward to the end of last week, groomer says my cat seems to have a few stitches still underneath the skin. I watch puppies/dogs for a living. Every time I take on a new client I need to ask, "who is your vet?" I tell every single one of them about this nightmarish experience and suggest anywhere else.

Id like to first start this review off by saying that I rarely EVER write bad reviews about a company unless I felt completely disrespected. I just moved to Windsor from Florida 1 month ago and was looking for a vet for my older dog. I called to make an appointment for a nail clipping at 11:15. I arrived in a few minutes early and walked up to the front desk but realized the woman was on the phone. She didnt acknowledge me at first, which wasnt a big deal considering it was a Monday. She then gets off the phone and continues to work without even acknowledging my dog and I sitting there waiting. Then another office lady walks through the back and sits down next to the First Lady and they start discussing each others HAIR! Still no acknowledgment, they proceed to have a personal conversation while Ive still been sitting there. Then another patron came in, which the 2nd office lady starts to help him. While she is helping him, the original woman finally looks up to me for the FIRST time and asks me oh, are you here for the nail clipping at 11:15? and I reply yes. Honestly, at this moment, Im not too happy but keep my cool. She then pulls out a clipboard and proceeds to say to me here, fill this out, itll give you something to do. I mean... Really???? GIVE ME SOMETHING TO DO??? At this point, Im fuming but still stayed calm. After she said such a rude comment to me, I very politely told her You know, I dont feel very comfortable with the way youve treated us and I dont feel okay with you even touching my animal at this point. I hope you ladies have a great day and I walked out. Fortunately the woman at Petco down the street told me to come ASAP for the nail clipping and couldnt believe I was treated the way I was. Ive been a server and bartender for 14 years now and I understand if you are having a rough day but the way I was treated was just so cruel and unacceptable. Not only have they lost the business of my 1 dog, but the business of my moms 3 dogs as well! I genuinely hope no one will be treated so rudely as I was.

Dr. Pennington is a caring, knowledgeable veterinarian whose focus is the animals welfare. He has strong views on spay/neuter if an animal is not being shown or bred, and he will express them. We have differed in our views on some inoculation issues (I have a specific, sensitive breed) and while he will make his views known, the ultimate decision is mine as the owner. I have had my pets with him for twelve years, and have seen many instances where he has sacrificed his own spare time to help an ailing pet. He is understanding of owners who are pinched for cash, too. His experience is excellent and his staff is capable and pleasant. I have no hesitation recommending him.

I was really surprised at the Dr. Pennington’s views for shots and neutering. I have an indoor young male puppy and I don’t want to get him neutered and some shots like Lepto react badly with my dogs breed. When we visited and said we didn’t want certain shots or to get him neutered, he was aggressive with his views to the point of being insulting to me and the breeder. I was told what everyone does and I should do it too which took out the personal care aspect of dog treatments. If you want personalized care for your pet, this is not the place.

Update: I feel fortunate to have Dr. Pennington and his staff in the town I live in. With the recent kennel cough issues at the day care, I brought my dog in for a check up. The dog is fine, and Dr. Pennington called the next day to follow up. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. -------------------------------------- I go to WAC with complete trust Dr. Pennington and his staff. They always have time for questions and are great with pets.
