Will never take my dog to this location again. Dr. Larkin was a very cold man from the first visit, to the final visit that just got me fed up. To start, the location looks very run down, has a very strange odor to it, and its NOT because of the animals. Ive taken my puppy to this location 4 different times, mostly because it was the closest. Each visit my service worsened exponentially. Ill spare you the details of the first three visits and get to the one that did it for me. I had an appointment for my pup at 5:00pm. I arrive at 4:45pm and wait. I get placed into a room at about 5:15pm. Dr. Larkin did not step a foot in my room until almost 6, only because I asked a nurse what was taking him so long. I personally heard him get upset at his nurse from the examination room. When he entered the room he did not say a word to me, took a total of 2 minutes to look at my dog, and left the room without a word. He got one of his nurses to explain what medication my dog needed. What lousy service. Also, I cant help but feel Dr. Larkin up charges ALL of his services. Please if you take your pet here, get a quote from another office, I feel ripped off in all honesty. I now take my pet to an office in Lake Nona, and even though it takes 30 minutes to get there, I will spend my time and money at an office where the staff and the vet take the time to talk to you, get to know you, and most importantly get to have genuine connection with your pet. My pup always had her tail in-between her legs at Larkins office, not at my new vet, she loves every single person that works there. Long story short, save your time and money and avoid this place at all costs. Ps. The staff at Larkins office are very nice for the most part, I will not take away from their good work, Larkin on the other hand is just a cold personality with a veterinary degree.

My daughters pit bull had been shot by her right front leg and we had taken Diamond to see Dr. Larkins. He did an ex-ray only to tell us that it would be in the dogs best interest to re-move her entire leg or put her down. Call me selfish but Diamond was only 2 years old and we wanted to give her the best life possible The estimate that he gave me when I seen it I was in shock. He was extremley, extremley, reasonable .He performed the surgery and all was well.... but anyone who knows about the pit bull bread knows that these animals have no concept to pain. They are there own worst enemy. No matter what we did she kept scratching open her stitches. Dr. Larkins even kept her for close to two weeks at his office just to monitor her. The vet assistance would even bring her McDonalds for breakfast. With all this being said we did end up loosing Diamond,ONLY because she had a very rare bone cancer due to being shot. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Larkins to any one who cares about the quality of life of there pets. They have a very friendly staff and I appreciate every thing they did for me and my daughter at our time of great loss. Diamond will always be in our hearts, but we will never forget Dr. Larkins and his staff. We decided to have Diamond creamated so my daughter could still take her home. The staff had called me to inform me that we could come pick up her re-mains. I was in awe at the sympathy that these people had for my daughter and myself. Dr. Larkins HIMSELF even came out to speak to us, and he kept apologizing to us for our loss. It was a day my daughter and I will never forget after all part of us died to.....But once again thank you Dr. Larkins and staff for all of your help. And thanks again for caring for our angel....R.I.P Diamond girl.. You will always be in our hearts

I recently called to get prices. The first question asked was have I been there before..yes I had with my dog, but not my cat. I always have received estimates on the phone without any problem. I called to find out how much an exam and shots would be for a stray kitten I rescued. The gentleman Shane said he couldnt give me a price, this is rediculous who goes to the doctor with an open bill. This is rediculous getting prices isnt an out-of-the ordinary question and its very improfessional to not inform clients of expected charges. Do they guess how much they can get out of you and not have a standard of care offering equitable charges to clients. Needless to say Im going to another doctor with my dog, new cat, and soon puppies. I do believe I wouldve been treated differently if I had said I brought my dog in, but I read some reviews about bad treatments, aweful services, and a review I assumed the vets office wrote about mistreating an animal he treated and wanted to find out for myself....I did and will be going to a lovely honest vet down the street across from the Dennys on 436 in Altamonte Springs. BTW they will give you prices and answer questions for you without being rude. Hey Shane do you go to the doctor and not know your co-pays or expected charges, bad customer service.....I wont be bring my Snowball there any longer or my new little Ella.

We adopted a puppy from Animal Services in Sanford who needed to be neutered. Animal Services set up an appointment with Altamonte Veterinary Hospital to perform the procedure. I was very happy with my new puppys care. As a side note, I hadnt been to a private vet in a few years. I had stopped going to private vets and began going to the SPCA for my dog and cats care because the two previous vets I had been going to for years each seemed to constantly raise prices and try to sell me something I didnt need for my animals each time I came in. My senior cat, 15 years old, had a medical issue a few months after we adopted the new puppy. I took her to Altamonte Veterinary Hospital since I had a good experience with the puppy. Dr. Larkin took great care of my sweet old kitty and was able to do a procedure that two previous vets could not offer since they did not have the equipment to perform it. Not only that, but the price was absolutely reasonable. Im thrilled with the care of both of my pets and will be returning for their checkups. For the reviews who had comments about the building: remember that its the care of your animal that is most important. I like the bunnies, birds and fish all around. It tells me this is a vet who clearly loves having pets! Ill take friendly staff, a knowledgeable Dr. and reasonable prices over floors I can eat off of.

This place tries to sell you the most expensive option for everything down to flea meds. Lisa at the front desk is the worst employee in the building and never follows through with call backs. I feel if she were not employed there I would have had a better experience. The staff cant even give you a simple quote on flea chewables without asking the doctor for the price first. Seems to me they change the price as they feel. I usually get both my dogs covered for one month of comfortis for less then $40. They tell me its $40 per dog. Steer clear of this place. Theres many other options in Orlando. Also on my initial visit I was told it would be $303 for xrays and steroid shot and dewroming medicine. I paid in total $300, $3 short of the original quote, and he still never got the rest of his deworming. They charge ad they feel in thw moment this is why they never give quotes through front desk. Call any other vet and you can get a quote easily. Something just dosnt seem right. I initially came to this place because it was closest and an emergency. Steer clear from here. Update: I called petdoc and they gave me prices instantly and its $40 altogether for both my dogs. Not $40 each. This place profits off of the pain of your animal.
