Staff was very nice, but Dr. Anita Patel was the worst PCP I have ever seen in my 20 years of Doctors visits. She was arrogant, rude, condescending and worst of all, she didnt listen or take seriously anything I said. She interrupted me anytime I tried to tell her something and just kept saying "Im not going to prescribe you anything you dont need" I never asked her for any prescriptions; I asked her for help and understanding of some of the issues I have been having. But instead of helping me, she just became more and more beligerent -- most likely because she did not have the knowledge that I needed in order to be helped.. I chose her because she says on her website "we are very compassionate towards our Patients" and that "Womens Health" was her specialty -- but this is simply not true. She has absolutely no compassion or ability to connect with her female Patients. Her words to me were "do you know how many women come in here with the same complaints?" She had no desire to discuss the unconventional tests for thyroid and the most current research about thyroid disease in women.. For this I feel she was very close-minded, and not much more knowledgeable beyond what she has studied in her college medical books. She did not grant me the additional basic tests that I had requested, and I basically left there feeling hopeless without any solution whatsoever. Oh, and if you search the internet you cant find much on her. Little if no reviews. Thats suspicious for sure. Maybe thats why she is such a jerk to her Patients. Post your reviews, people... this type of healthcare for women is the last thing the world needs.

This office is a joke! I am new to this office after being with Dr Jose Berrios for over 20 yrs. I have a history of anxiety and panic attacks. Needless to say today I encountered a severe panic attack due to a series of life events. So I called my Pcp for assistance. They got me in to see their nurse practitioner. Who was very condensending & lecturing me about prescribing xanax and how its addicting & i would need to be able to take care of my kids.. Mind you I had been on them for yrs before I became pregnant with my son who is now 7 months. She then left to speak with Dr Patel. She comes back in to then discuss my thyroid levels. Like seriously! So I left and called to speak with Evelyn to file a greivance. Was put on hold and was "accidentally" disconnected. I called back and she then went on about my thyroid. She said the Dr suggested I go to the ER.. Really? I asked if they reviewed by records and if they saw my hx of anxiety and she said yes but your thyroid... ARE U KIDDING ME! I filed a greivance with the office & insurance company. This is what is wrong with healthcare these days. Assuming everyone is drug seeking. You should be ashamed of yourself. Youre a disgrace. Too bad Dr Berrios retired & Dr Antonio Rivera passed away. Now the hunt to find yet another dr.

I am a new patient with Dr Patel and have only seen her once. I see her a second time this week for a follow up (she prescribed precautionary testing per family history). My first visit was great. It was most definitely the kind of experience you want to have when you are trying to become established with a new doc. I am a male and did have some question on my comfort level with her as a woman doctor(thats on me, as I have only ever see male docs) but truly I was comfortable with her. Simply said, I recommend her. I like her throughness (prescribed a heart ultrasound first visit and did ekg in office), I like her "bed side manner", and I am glad to have chosen her as my new doc in the tampa bay area. I recommend Dr Patel.

I saw her one time. I had a well managed Hashimotos disease and needed to get refills on my prescription. Her office staff couldnt even spell half of the medicines even after I told them how. And the nurse putting in my info was too distracted by her own child sitting in her lap crying to listen to what I was saying. The Dr herself was very condescending and rude. I had to go through my insurance in order to get a change. While waiting I had my pharmacy request a refill. She ignored the request 3x. And I have been without my meds 2 weeks until I can get in to see a new dr. Her office was worse than going to a free clinic. Dont waste your time or money.

Dr Patel was extremely patient with my mom and was succinct in her explanation of problems and treatments. She helps complete the network of caregivers by weaving specialists into the network. Her intent listening skills are valued.

I have been with Dr. Patel for 5 yrs. I have never had a problem with her or her staff. She is very thorough when it comes to my health, and she certainly listens to my concerns.
