Weve brought our furry family members to Clearlake Animal Hospital since the 60s when Dr. Braxton owned and operated the facility, followed in the 80s by Dr. Holt. Theyve always been friends and valued care providers for our family pets. Weve watched the changes to this establishment in recent years where they appear to have transitioned to care "processors." They must think they are making it more "professional" apparently trying to model their operation after human healthcare. I guess they were successful because its completely lost its connection to its clients and the comforting feel of the local vet and family friend. Long gone are the days of the vets that did their job without the pretentiousness of pretending like they are human doctors. The quality of care has dramatically diminished as it is now seems its just about business here. They lost me as a lifetime client today when they stopped a med order from 800PetMeds in an attempt to leverage a revenue producing visit where they could charge double the cost for the same med. My dog has hip dysplacia and is in pain. They apparently thought it was more important for them to ring their cash registers than our dog to have relief. Frankly, Im pissed and look forward to this place going out of business as their clients begin to realize that they no longer have any real interest in their clients or pets best interests. Its just sad to see how this establishement has changed in recent years.

I have to say I was ecstatic when I learned the veterinary team (Dr. Paul and Dr. Jen) were buying this hospital. I knew them from Palm Bay Animal Clinic and they have always been fabulous even though its quite a drive from Cocoa, I would take special rescue kitties there. Years ago I went to this hospital when Dr. Holt had it. It was dirty and dingy, with a nasty fish aquarium in the lobby. Zoned out staff, uncomfortable chairs, and when your animal was examined it was in an open exam room where everyone and every animal (usually quite a few, standing room only) waiting in the lobby could watch, which was unnerving for me and my cat. I decided to give them another try and had the same experience so I only went back years later if it was the only option....usually to buy food only, not to have my animal seen. Other folks have had different experiences and everyones entitled to their opinion. Dr. Paul has made some great changes here, the office is now REALLY clean, sports fresh paint, comfortable seating, friendly staff who REALLY care about your animals, it is obvious. Plus private exam rooms where the door is shut (yay), and best of all they are within 3 miles of my home. As a rescuer this is wonderful, and I already have quite a few foster kitties in the computer :) Dr. McCormick is very easy to talk to, is willing to take all the time needed to answer your questions. Now, wheres my t-shirt!??? :)

Clearlake is incredible! I went to Dr Holt a few times in the past when he owned it, and Ill just say I wasnt very happy with my experiences. When I learned of the new ownership I was excited. I would go to the Central Brevard Humane Society Clinic for shots and exams, but they are limited in what they can do, and I needed a full service vet. I am very paranoid when it comes to my furbabies and any little thing, I am on the phone. (Im sure its very annoying to the staff, but they havent shown it if thats how they feel). From the moment you walk in, you are greeted and your animal is loved. Everyone is so friendly, they explain things and patiently answer my numerous questions, even if they dont pertain to the issue I came in for. In reference to some comments I have read, I didnt notice much of a price increase from when I saw Dr Holt, a few dollars maybe, but its WELL WORTH IT. They even called to check on my baby a few days after coming in! Talk about being touched and impressed! Plus, you even get a receipt without having to ask! After leaving some pee mail, my boy PULLS to get in the door to see everyone. I highly recommend these wonderful vets and suggest you give them a chance. It cant hurt and you may just find your new vet for your furbabies.

I work with a local rescue group and have had several occasions to use this clinic. I LOVE it that they run ON TIME. I also love the fact that I can get an appointment not 2 weeks from now but within days! The staff are friendly and easy to work with. They put up with sometimes scraggly and difficult to work with animals. They ALWAYS treat them gently and with respect. The receptionist is outstanding! She knows I am dealing with other parties and have difficulty making appointments or getting all the details on the animals. She is patient and helps with all appointment changes, payment issues, etc. And the vets .... primarily Ive seen Dr. McCormick and I cant say enough wonderful things about her! What a thorough and gentle vet! Recently I met Dr. Paul Sikoski. I was very impressed especially after walking in with a "feral cat" in a trap. Many vets will not deal with feral cats. Dr. Paul is not afraid and seems skilled in handling the cats without being rough. Im impressed. Like I mentioned, I work with an animal rescue group and there are a lot of vets I would not recommend. I HIGHLY recommend this animal hospital!

Clearlake Animal Hospital is the only vets office I will go to. My family has been taking our pets their since I was a child. I wasnt sure what to expect when the new owners took over but was pleasantly surprised. Everyone I encountered was kind, helpful, and very informative. The young lady who worked in the kennels and helped the vet was a gem. Dr. Stephanie treated my dog Sirabee as if she was her own and Sirabee took to her immediately. She was such a blessing. Sirabee doesnt like many people so it said a lot. The secretary was outstanding and made sure I was checked in quickly and thoroughly. The veterinarian took his time with my dog and was very patient with me as well as understanding. I will defiantly be back when I am in need of their services.

We arrived in the area from MN a few weeks ago with our nearly 14 year old Lab "Abby". She has been suffering from cancer and we had to make a very difficult decision. After researching the areas veterinarians we chose Clear Lake Animal Hospital based on the reviews for Dr. McCormick and the clinic. On very short notice we called them and theywere very understanding and cooperative. Our wonderful Abby was treated with the utmost respect as well as us in this difficult time. They let us stay with her as long as we wanted after she was at peace. While I dont wish this decision on anyone, I highly recommend Clear Lake Animal Hospital and Dr. McCormick. She is very professional and compassionate and we thank her for helping us with our beloved Abby.

Before the new owners, I had a REALLY bad experience with the passing of my 13 year old cat at the office. I loathed returning monthly for prescribed food for the remaining sibling cat (now, 18 years old). Then, one day, I walked in during construction. I was skeptical of the changes, but anything was an improvement. The new staff was so helpful and friendly, I didnt care what the place looked like; I had decided I liked the changes already! The treatment of patients is much more caring, too. To top it all off, they changed their hours so I no longer have to take off work to pick up more food. :) Only complaint I have is the small unoticeable sign and I probably would have changed the name a bit to get away from the stigma of predecessors.
